I wanted to be on the fence on this...but I am disturbed ...so, guess not...a reason to incarcerate is to rehab people, right?...well, sometimes, I don't get it...take the case of John Hinckley ...for some of you, this may be ancient history... 35 years ago...that is why it may be ancient...this guy tried to assassinate the then US Prez, Ronald Reagan ...he shot others, as well as the Prez, who did survive...albeit, without his normal faculties...to be sure...and others in the paths of his bullets, did too...as did Hinckley ... In lieu of the death penalty, he was put into prison ...actually ended up in a psychiatric wing of said incarceration... Morning kids...we are setting our sights on Del Mar Race Track today...we area taking the Coaster (train) ...stops right at Solana Beach...where a shuttle is a waiting...and drops us off at the Track...cool stuff... going with our friends, the Maduzas (handicapper Andy) ...they get us a table in the outside restaurant...and there we go...er, "and...away they go" ...the line used by the race caller at Del Mar as each race begins... Sure, I have studied for two days on the card...I kibitz back and forth with Hdcp Andy...give him my sure bets...ha ha...he called me out on one...my BEST BET ...accused me of hitting the sauce while I was doing it...a hoss that has been off for a year and a half...oops, I didn't say I was flawless....and not on the sauce...anyway...on Sunday the Pick 6 was hit for, get this, $888,000+ ...what?...one tix...duh... I got out to the course yesterday.... man, am I rusty ...much worse than the blokes I play with...and was scrambling like crazy ...

Morning kids...I have been amiss at not talking about one of, if not the HUGEST event , here in downtown San Diego... Comic-Con ...you know, there are others all about the country...but this one...is probably the largest... even bigger than the previous week's MLB Bash, their All Star Game ...think that the local hotels aren't socked in?...making boucoup bucks....oops, a word?... Prior to us moving to SoCal, this area was an old, downtrodden city ...ha ha...that didn't sound right...the city had a plan to revitalize itself... started with the baseball park being built ...and shortly after, a number of high rise condos ...and then hotels were built...and as the saying goes, if you build it they will come ...well, we did...and so did thousands of others...if you look at the picture of SD proper from 15 years ago, and then, now...you would be amazed!... Involved in the master plan was the Convention Center. ..a beaut...and large enough to harbor big things...many, many...
