The new year brings a new set of programs to the pixels ...well, the season is new...and the programs are fresh...maybe the same ones...just new versions...eegads, am I really saying this?...in essence, the Bachelorette, American Idol, and Celebrity Apprentice ...are BACK! ....ha ha...there you go... Last night was the guy pick em special...er, the Bachelor ...with the chooser being a country boy from Iowa ...and this time around there were 30 gals paraded around him...and the show itself, was a "live" version in front of an audience...made up of some of the alumni of year's or seasons past...oh well, familiar faces...it's kind of like a cult...these blokes and blokettes live on forever...as single... where is Vienna?... I'm not sure how anyone can sift through 30 that quickly...and even come up with names...there are clear standouts...and the producers gave us snippets of episodes to come...you see, this is already done...and there are web net guys out the...

One of my many corrections in my coaching career, was my view on officiating ...I noticed this the most when I did radio commentary for high school hoop games...when I had no vested interest in a team or game, the refs were better than I imagined...it's true...now...that doesn't mean that they were good...some were...some were not... OK...as I am watching the Cowboys/Lions game yesterday...it's one of those who I could care less who wins ...in fact, I may lean against Detroit...cuz their brutality gets the pass by the league way too often...anyway... the Lions are nursing a lead ...and marching down the field to add to a 3 point margin... get a crucial call for pass interference ...obvious hold and face guard...Dallas goes berserk!...knowing the implications of the call...and the impending doom...in fact, out in the middle of the field joining in on the chaos is none other than the helmetless WR Bryant of the Boys...and...somehow... the refs pulled their flag... Things are getting back to normal in the hood ...the weather has reversed itself...I was in shorts and a short sleever out at the golf course...of course, our seldom used heater went on the fritz...the compressor (?) went out, or is that condenser?...and we were using our fake fireplace for the warmth...we just got THAT fixed a bit ago...the perils of living in a warm climate... About once a month... I resemble a golfer ...yesterday was the one...shot an 82 ...and had my moments of good stuff...go figure...I have been wallowing in the low 90's for awhile...I am NOT a sweet swinging stick...more of a refined hack...however...I won ALL the $... And...we are set for the Nat Champ Game in Arlington ...got the tix, the flight, the hotel, and the car...used miles for the airfare...the tix for the game, another spendy tale...oh well, once in a lifetime, right?...
