The uncovering of the Jan 6 Coup, continues on...and I am extremely happy that Congress is finally having people arrested if they disregard their subpoena...the whole story, as it will be told...to you...will show in detail how dastardly that guy really was, and or, is...YOU need to see it in print, everywhere...RIGOROUSLY!... June 9th is the supposed earth shattering report date...

One of the problems about writing a blog like mine...is repeating myself...doing this purnt near every day, can cause that...manifesting into a deep dig, or hole, I can't get out of...trump has done that to moi...hate him so...and trying to figure out why some people like him, is as frustrating as there is...based on what?...liking a Republican, I can see...but this guy?...a fake...as my fellow Pinny dude would say 'how do you really feel?'...

A day in the life of...the Padres...muddled in a 4 game slide...trying to find some timber that will work...rode a terrific pitching effort by their leader, Joe Musgrove...had a no hitter thru 7 2/3rd of the game...and the wood pieces came alive enough for 7 runs...ie, a 3 run dinger by Manny...cool thing, as the Brewer's Kolten Wong, broke up the no no, with a double...Musgrove looked at him on 2nd and nodded, and Wong tipped his cap at him...professional acts...respect...what they DON'T do in the NBA...

For us Bosch devotees...apparently the season is over after 10 episodes...and we will be awaiting the next for 2023...boo...when you see episode 10, you will see my displeasure...

Speaking of respect...which is always laid on the former Golf Pro, Jack Nicklaus...he has been involved in some questionable money dealings lately...accusations, alleged stuff...ie, being asked by Greg Norman to be the face of the Saudi Tour...at a rate of $100 million clams...Nicklaus turned it down...but...anyhoo, the PGA Tour is at his golf palace this week...and no mention thus far about what I just wrote...

The LA Bums should be the best...they pay the most for their team members...and their 'over pay' tax is greater than most teams pay for their entire squad...equity?...I think not...hate LA...

Yes, as I have told you...by being down and out for about 8 days...with this damn Covid virus...have been able to find a way to block all these repeated emails I get from companies...used to get 20+ a day...probably more...now, it's like 3-5...ones I want...oh yea, and I was so tired out at the course...it is amazing how much energy has been zapped...from me system...napped like a baby when I got home...

Vegas is begging for a NBA team to squat there...who is in the running?...the league says they are not interested in expansion at this time, so...?...in MLB, I could see the A's moving into the desert...nobody is going to the Oakland games...nobody...

Graduation

This is a bit tardy, as the Horse finally got out to the links...that odor you smelled was the level of play that I emitted...probably traveled all the way up the Pacific Northwest...who plays 18 holes and does not get ONE par?...the Horse...will admit, I was rusty, wore new specs due to my eye prescription change, and was way way tired...the bloody Covid does that, kids...BUT, it was great to get out...enough of this quarantine...

I bring up Graduation...due to the month we are in...dependent on where the school is, it probably starts tonight and continues on for a couple of weeks...cool...seemed like I graduated 30 times +, when I taught...anyhoo...outside of watching our son walk the procession for HS, College, and then Dental School...the best was my mother...now, I am not real sure about her age...here is the story...

She went to a couple of years of college, then got hitched to my father...5 kids later, and well spaced to boot...she would take odd jobs out at the Indian School in Chemawa, Oregon...after we all got a bit of size to us, she would take on a new one out there...unable to drive, it was the responsibility of dad and whatever kid was available to transport her...it was what it was...then she got a wild hair...she decided to go back and finish college...what?...

Where I graduated from, mind you...which was a 20 minute drive...to the best of my recollection, she would flag rides from other ladies, who had the same affliction...that is what it is, right?...and from my father, when it worked...took her a couple of years, but she did GRADUATE!...I was so proud of her...of course, I asked her what she going to do with that certificate at the age of 65...she did it cuz she wanted to do so...imagine going back to college at that age, and finishing what you started...

Way cool, huh...

Now, the sports crap...the Celtics made the pundits proud and right on...as they pummeled the Warriors in the 4th...hit some unbelievable 3 balls, and the home team couldn't match it...hmmm...

The Friars had a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the 9th...and the closer blew his 2nd straight game...egads, my problem, is that he obviously did not have his good stuff...he should have been removed after 3 guys and sat his miserable arse...lawdy...

100 days of the Putin invasion of Ukraine...he fired 5 more of his generals...wonder when the Kremlin goes and gets him...

We had a bar b q at the home last eve...met some really interesting peops, that were 40 year workers in DC...ah, with the Repubs...and BEFORE trump, who they were NOT enamored with...really want to talk further in depth with them...I am a sponge on politics...

Chaos

At times. it seems like I write in total frustrations...knocking my head against a wall...knowing that the thing that confuses me so, will not get altered...that there are so many Congressionals that are held captive by the NRA and their lobbyists...that they don't even vote the way of their constituents...that they go into a block system and that is it...and we say we have the best system in the world...perhaps, not...

Another mass shooting...at a hospital of all places...guess I shouldn't be that shocked, as the grade school seemed the lowest of all...shoot, we had an attempted coup on our very own Capitol...and that still...did not, or does not...deter the Congressionals...

It gets worse...the killer in the hospital was targeting his doctor that operated on him!...

I was reading a response on social network, where a student at UCLA...university in LA...was debating his professor's right wing approach to what is happening in these times...in detail...what she was telling her students...'it's not the guns'...you know the drill...this is a state owned school, mind you...is this healthy?...how might she grade those who might disagree with her?...on and on...

Just a sidelight...my worst teachers ever, that I ran into...were in college...hands down...the worst...no where close to the ones in grade school and up towards the graduating days...of high school...is that still the case?...or isolated?...

The Padres...oh my...lost all 3 in Saint Looey, which I feared...and now in Milwaukee, where we are normally not too successful, either...need some hits...need some runs...need need need some O...so, we are kinda lucky, too...as Pitt went into LaLa and swept the Bums...fire the manager!...

The NBA finals start tonight in the Bay Area...saw some unbelievable pundit stuff, that the Celtics are 86% fav...what?...take that bet and run...barring key injuries, I see the Warriors in 6...unless, ref Scott Foster has too many of the games...then, all bets off...

So, the movie 'star' Johnny Depp won his defamation case against his old lover...wait, wife...they were hitched for 5 years...got $15 million dollars...and she won $2 million in a countersuit...OMG!...what a waste of court time...rats arse...thinking about suing Boss for $1 million...hey, it's the new thang...go ahead, sue your spouse for scratch...you gotta be kidding me...

Did I tell ya, I finally tested negative for the bloody Covid?...it's a happy day...

According to The NY Times, if you drank a moderate amount of coffee a day (1.5 to 3.5 cups) your were up to 30% less likely to die, than if you didn't drink coffee...during the duration of your drinking period...ah, got that?...

According to the Horse, if you drink moderate amounts of good bourbon (1-3 glasses) you are less likely to overeat...this is a scientific study over the past 10 years...(or longer)...

Under-Rated

Prior to the Horse, taking you on a real jazzy ride of 'new to us' music...I heard this tune from the past...that boggled me mind...realized how groovy it really was...well, for sure, back then...the singer, Del Shannon, was a hitmaker in the Junior High days of me youth...we all sang and hummed his hits...'Runaway', 'Little Town Flirt', 'Keep Searchin', and the one that I recently 'ran' into...'Hats Off to Larry'....hmmm, is that big Larry, medium Larry, little Larry, or micro Larry?... an inside joke of us, as we knew a gaggle of Larrys all around us...we will not name names, to protect the innocent...of course, his other huge hit was 'Handy Man', since covered by James Taylor...yup, he was UNDER-RATED as a hit star...

Like so many other 'stars' of the era...his name was changed to Del Shannon...his real moniker was Charles Westover, from Grand Rapids, Michigan...born in 1934...his history was marked with name changes, band changes, and finally his one that stuck...a combo from a wrestling pseudonym in the area, Mark Shannon and his fav car, the Coupe De Ville...I guess combining de Ville, into Del...ha ha...thus, Del Shannon...

Had an odd time to become famous..right before the Beatles...61-63...was a hit himself in the UK...and actually, get this, released his version of theirs 'From Me to You' that got to our shores, BEFORE the Beatles real one did...

Happy? Memorial Day

As we pay tribute to all those who gave their life to the country that we live in...many who did what they were told, faithfully...we MUST honor them...as I have often referred to the soldiers as 'pawns'...whatever, they were instrumental in the freedom we have now...you KNOW this...regardless of what war they were killed in...life is so precious, and we live on because they helped us to do so...

Memorial Day should also mean, that we have 'memories' that need to be held on to....you can take that any way you want...but, it is a truth...for all those who died AND those who served for our country....

Bizarre...the game that decided the east rep in the champ series in the NBA...won by Boston...gosh, it was a beaut...as the Celtics dominated it throughout...yet, in the last minute and a half, the Heat made a valiant run...closing to 2, with 11 seconds to go...out of time outs and the ball in the hands of their best bloke, Jimmy Buckets...who dribbled down and got off a great look at a 3 ball and possible win...he missed...Boston won...and that was that...or was it?...after about 4 minutes and the broadcast had broken away for it's endless commercials...and for this author to read about it this am...the NBA negated one of the closing Heat's 3 pointers...?...so, what if...Buckets made the 3, the Heat won...and then the league...REVERSED it after the game was timed over?...would they have done that?...imagine...the...chaos...

Just like last week's PGA T...a pro finished early on a great run...7 shots back...at yesterday's final round at the Colonial...and then he watches and gets in a playoff...this time, the golfer, Sam Burns, the early finisher...beat Scotty Scheffler in OT, on a miracle putt...probably the only birdie putt I saw made in at least 2 hours...funny, well sort of, these two guys are best buds...

Finishing up my sports report...the Pads...with their rookie McKenzie Gore chucking...his ERA is now like 1.71!...the Friars won it, too, in OT...on a fair pole HR by Grisham...whew...now, on to Saint Looey and Milwaukee...historically, bad places for a win for SD...

Last eve, 60 Minutes (CBS) did a segment on the affects of the bullet from an AR-15 rifle...it was devastating...comparing it to a revolver's bullet...then, when your mind wonders to the Uvalde Massacre...the utter devastation...every single Republican who supports the NRA should be put in a room and FORCED to watch it...this weapon is in the hands of anyone who wants one...

Here is the time, that I add some insights to what I am doing...quarantined...I would be golfing right now, as I am writing...boo...as Boss read to me, that I am still infectious...but, I have no symptoms...going to ride out the 10 days...as when I read...my 23 sources...'you are all gonna get Covid'...but, the lingering and well, the direct effects, will be different from those who are not fully vaccinated...this is a good thing...

It does make you wonder, where on earth is it safe?...I could apply that to the Covid...and to the shootings...

I just looked at the 'out of bounds' picture, that the NBA used to change the score of the game...hmmm, does it not look like his foot, er shoe, was over the line, but NOT touching?...here is another angle...and much more sinister...the Celtics were favored by 3...so, the Heat covered UNTIL...the NBA changed the score...you a little sick right now?...oh yea, and Scott Foster reffed the game...

Maybe I should say that again...by changing the score, there were a lot of happy Boston bettors...and a lot of mad Miami ones...

And you think WE have a gambling problem...

A Time To Reflect

This quarantine time, sure gives the brain time to REFLECT on the goings on...to be able to go on down to the super and get what you need...well, to go anywhere...without a spreading thought...5 or 10 days?...I dunno...just read that I will probably test positive for a month or so...they key is the symptoms...do I have them or not?...this am, I arose feeling like the Horse usually does...so, what does that mean?...my 4some of golfers told me to stay away 'til I tested negative...do I have to show them?...we (Boss) just got 4 free test kits from CVS...how often do I test until it shows diff?...or, as I said earlier, is that fruitless?...

I was told that we all are going to get it...Covid...and saw that Governor Newsom and Comedian Billy Crystal have tested positive...and like me, they were fully vaccinated...to name just a few...as Boss still tests negative...and is getting mighty tired of having to 'do it all', as I sit at the home...don't blame her...and this just in...lead announcer for the Celtic/Heat game tonight, Mike Breen, tested positive, too...he is out...

REFLECTING on the Uvalde Massacre...as we grieve...as we fear the next...as we blame...as we ponder...as we have second thoughts about the police action, or inaction...as we marvel at the power of the NRA...as we somehow know that there is a huge amount of frustration...as the vexation that encompasses us, will do so again and again...and again...yes, we have but one say in all of this...the vote...

The NBA playoffs...game 7 in the east...Boston at Miami...who ya got?...you in Vegas?...anyhoo, I have this an absolute tossup!...the Celtics are probably better on the stat sheet...but, the Heat are tough dudes...in real life...hope Ref Scott Foster is NOT working it...

The Pads continued their lack of hitting....this time with blokes on base...stranded 16!....has to be some type of record...and then, the closer, T Rogers, didn't have his good stuff...squandered a 2-1 lead in the 9th, as he allowed a 3 run dinger...damn, and I stayed up til 11 watching that...masochist...

The PGA...Scotty Scheffler has emerged...in a round that had most going south...high winds...as per usual, in a day that I can't go anywhere...mine eyes will watch the story emerge in Ft Worth...geez, why is all this happening in Texas?...right now...

OK, on a much different note...how does one cook the Belgian Waffle, so that it is like buttery crisp, and light as the air?...which I got at the Mirage...to die for...mine taste like hotcakes, almost...runnier batter?...is there something I should be adding to the mix?...enquiring mind wants to know...

Be honest...are you on pins and needles awaiting the jury's decision on the Depp/Heard case?...well, the Netflix mini-series will start on it, in 6 months...they can't play themselves in it...so who plays the lead characters?...

2 days of correction on Wall St...ah, I haven't even looked at our portfolio for some time...afraid to do so...and have not heard from JJ, either...we shall say, we are all bunkered down...

Just a fact of life...as you age...you take a pill to counter this, a pill to counter that, and then another pill to bolster that...and your once lively muscles and bones...begin to hurt...and yet...you still think like a 25 yr old...until you look in the mirror...solution?...don't buy a mirror...

Memory?...like 10-20 years ago...in Vegas...Caesars...Pete Rose sitting in a chair, charging for autographs...I dunno, kids...is that all there is?...
