Winter Wonderland

You just have to lead with the Apple Cup...the winner of it goes to the Pac 12 Champ game...for 3 months it has been the WSU Cougs to cherish...the one team now standing in their way?...their arch nemesis and rival team from their state, the Dawgs of Washington...who seemingly have had their number for the past 5 years...yup, a streak that doesn't sit well in the Palouse...not this year?...

And then the weather hit...SNOW!...last night...lots of it...a WINTER WONDERLAND...how much will this affect the passing game of WSU?...well, the Dawgs, too...for the viewer, it was a delight...for the Cougs, not so much...as the Huskies methodically whupped them at all phases of the game...and they, not Wash St, move on to the champ game...AND, eliminates any notion of the Cougars going to the final 4...them rivalry games...

About 6 hours south of there, was the Civil War...in Orygun...played in the bloody rain in Corvallis...alas, NO MATCH!...as the Ducks destroyed the lines of the Beavs...it appeared to moi, that either OSU quit, or got beat up...I sense the former...too bad...along the way, at the end of the 1st half, the star QB Herbert of UO, got slammed down on the fake turf...and was lost for the game (and season?)...well, the bowl game...55-15...egads...

As I was cruising the web net...there was memo that caught me eye...that the match...er, The Match...between Lefty and Tiger was being live streamed...for free...went to the site, and it was in fact, there...so, via me iPhone, I watched it from the eighth hole on....to be frank, the boys were not playing well...in so much, that one of the 'analysts', well, guest hosts, Chas Barkley, blurted out 'that he could have beat both of them, today'...right...anyway, it turned out to be tied until it got dark...and they went to a Mickey Mouse finish...under the lights, a make shift 93 yard hole...which Lefty eventually won on...$9 million bucks...whatever...

This am, will be the OTHER OSU on the pixels...THE Ohio State Buckeyes...hosting the Michigan Wolverines...like the Dawgs, who have the whammy on the Cougs...OSU has the same on Mich...expect a similar outcome...just got to think that the winner gets the last slot in the final 4...
it's on at 9 am...the Horse will miss it...as I have a 8:40 tee time...might get back for the ending...

Black Friday

So how was your Thanksgiving?...did ya'll have family?...we were alone...as the fits of surviving the flu left us so...nevertheless, we did make a turkey feast for two...which is impossible...thus, we have gads of leftovers...listen, your health...is so critical...

Are you taking advantage of Black Friday?...I watched with amazement, as our Mission Valley Best Buy opened it's doors last eve...people had camped out for over a day, anticipating the 'killer deals' that awaited them on Thanksgiving....in fact, it was a huge line...I can recall back in the day, us...waking up prior to dawn, doing the same sort of thang back in Orygun...one of the stores even gave away free coffee and cake donuts...does anyone still eat cake donuts?...I digress...

The web net...this is where one should shop, I reckon...been getting so many ads sent to me via email this past week...countless...anywhere from 20-70% off and no shipping charge...even saw where Amazon is selling present day Apple products, with a discount...imagine...does the Apple Store ever offer one?...I doubt it...well, get out there and seek and destroy them bargains...

I can't make this up...when asked what he is thankful for...Trump responded with...'I am thankful for me, for making such a difference in this country'...yes, you have Donny...throw in the answer to whom he thought should be named person of the year by Time magazine, 'It's gotta be Trump, doesn't it...who else could it be, c'mon'...oh yea, and lastly, queried what grade he would give himself for his work in the White House, 'A+'...ah ha, what say you?...the hits keep right on a coming...

The Hondurans have arrived at the border...in Tijuana...the people there are not happy...what are the Mexican police and armies doing?...clashing with them?...as our troops are awaiting whatever...Trump says that he will close all southern borders, if....IF, is a mighty big IF...will be a very touchy situation for the next week...might say combustible...

The NFL games yesterday were pretty much to script...them Cowboys have risen from the dead, huh...the injuries play such a huge part of that game...such a brutal one...if your team can survive the many aches, breaks, and nagging debilitating parts of football...it could be playing in the post season...Dallas may be one of those...

We are in debate mode...when do we put up our tree?...normally, we are like real fired up to do so...but, this damn sickness has quelled our enthusiasm...knowing, that it will jump start us...hmmm....

College football rivalries...one last eve...for the Egg Bowl...Miss St and Mississippi...just happened on it...and at the end of the 3rd quarter, an out and out brawl...as the Rebs scored  a td...after review of the fighting...they (refs) discovered the play started after time had run out...thus, negating the play...oh my...and today, the Beavs and the Ducks in the Civil War...so, if you are into the line stuff, it has RISEN to 17 1/2...what do them Vegas boyz know?...

The date of yesterday...coupling with Thanksgiving, is the calendar time of when JFK was assassinated...as I have told you before, when we went to Dallas a few years back...and went to Dealy Plaza, the site of it...the massacre...I couldn't believe how small an area it actually is...there is a story out, that Kennedy actually escaped another assassination attempt during the Bay of Pigs...

Did you buy the match between Lefty and Tiger?...right, me neither...Jimmy crack corn...

Happy Thanksgiving

Morning, kids...a Happy Thanksgiving to ya'll...hope your day is filled with joy and you're with who you want to be...with...hmmm, it's about time to pop your turkey in the oven...well, at least on the West Coast...you Easterners are already in motion...we, having survived the flu ( or whatever), thus will be doing the 'dinner' solo...no reason to infect others, right?...

So, I sauntered out to the Point Loma Trader Joe's...who was READY for the onslaught of late TGiving shoppers, just like me...everything you could possibly want for YOUR meal, is there...and featured....gads of turkey breasts...ah yes, I was 'sweating' pretty good...first time out, you know...got all the fixings...and am ready...BTW, going thru that area, I noticed such cool older homes...maybe, that's our next destination for a place to move...

I got a note, that after a very soulful beginning to my blog yesterday, I turned drastically to an ornery political rant...true observation, dude...so, I make this promise to you for TODAY...nothing political...OK then, Donny, don't say anything stupid this morning...keep me calm...

The NBA played a gaggle of games yesterday....was everyone playing?...maybe so...odd results, as the Celtics, Blazers, and Warriors all lost...badly...insomuch, as the star of Boston...Kyrie 'the earth is flat' Irving, announced profoundly '(screw) Thanksgiving'...well, using the F word...yes, he did attend Duke for 1 year...something didn't sink in, I reckon...

Speaking of Duke and their lofty ranking for this season...they met their match in Maui...Gonzaga took 'em down...listen, kids this is the best Bulldog team I have ever seen...true dat...their 2 bigs are for real...

Have you ever had a sweet potato pie?...or made one?...I'm not much of a baker, but would really like to take on the challenge of it...saw a production on the pixels the other day...the crust thinger is my extreme downfall...

Last nite...as I was gandering out the window at the other buildings...I saw my first (someone else's) Christmas Tree...lit up...way cool...maybe Saturday for us?...depends on how we feel...duh...

'Alexa, turn on Pandora in the living room, play Christmas music'...man, I heard the funkiest Xmas song, ever...EVER...by the Platters...I have their CD, and will give you the exact one...soon...

How about some Horse pix for today's NFL games?...you got it...call your bookie...Bears over the Lions...Cowboys rip the 'Skins...and the track meet for the finale, Saints in a donnybrook over the Falcons...hmmm, I may flip on the last one...gobble gobble...

Unbelievable...have you seen the Housewives (?) of wherever lately?...those gals don't even look, er resemble, human beings anymore...with all their stretching, additions, well, lordy, whatever they have done to themselves...turn away...

Unforgettable

One of the best duets of all time...and it was done, patched up in the world of modern technology...'Unforgettable'...sung by Nat King Cole and his daughter, Natalie...sadly, both have passed on now...but left, is that wonderful collaboration...I bring this up, cuz that is what Thanksgiving was to our family...the grouping of both parents, the endless doctoring of 'the gravy', who was designated to bring what, Marsh's 'World Famous' salad (my Dad's name for it), turkey AND ham, NFL football games, and then later on, the pick up of our son at the airport from college, the 3+ hour drive back, as the I-5 was slammed, Cris and I sneaking out to play golf in whatever weather there was, as the women cleaned up (sorry), and now...that's what is there, the memories...not forgotten and UNFORGETTABLE!...

To put a caution flag up on your meal, there is a nationwide memo out...to NOT consume romaine lettuce...for the entire country...if you have some, toss it, kids...

We are still in the throngs of the flu...what is this, day 4?...weak and no appetite...lordy, you KNOW I must be ill...it's been toast, cereal, soup, crackers, water, gatorade, and little else...head ache just won't leave...and...well, that's enough info...

I watched the A&E series on the Clinton/Lewinsky affair...late 90's and was the grounds for his impeachment...imagine comparing his actions to what Trump does DAILY!...the masses really didn't care what they were doing...but not the lawyers...that is what I took from that...the numbers of attorneys in DC...foxes searching out the hound...

Trump...blurted out that he was not certain of the involvement of the Saudi Crown Prince of the death of the Washington Post journalist...disregarding our own CIA's findings, condemning the Prince...but Trump, is following the money needs...by him?...who really knows?...I never, ever, believe a word he says...

When the new House of Representatives convene in January...all Hell is going to break loose...Clinton/Lewinsky times 1,000!...buckle up, Donny...

The numbers in the California fires...of the deaths and missing, 80 and over 800...such a tragedy...imagine that many people that are still unaccounted for...the families...

Black Friday...definitely switching gears...when it is the time to get DEALS from the web net...and those stores who still have doors on them...ha ha...I have already got Marsh a wireless headphone for 1/2 price...listen, kids there are some doozies out there...

The LaLa Lakers skip into Cleveland to play the dilapidated Cavs...and bring their newbie, and former Cav, LeBron James, back HOME to play...all NBA eyes will be on the beginning of the game...and then, as the blow out emerges, the pixels will turn away...

UO/OSU the line is now 16...the Michigan/OSU (THE OSU), has final 4 implications...Hawaii/SDSU has no such meaning...ha ha...Dawgs/WSU is the other biggie...some good ones for the weekend, huh....

Tiger/Lefty are doing the promos for their match for Black Friday...hmmm, you gonna watch...they were queried about being able to cuss during the epic mano a mano...'affirmative'...there you go, reason to buy the telecast...not moi...

Finally...the news out of DC...that Trump was thwarted from his personal desire to have Hillary Clinton and James Comey PROSECUTED...much to his dismay, his White House counsel, Don McGhan, advised him otherwise...as he had NO RIGHT to order that...and his actions could lead him to being impeached...he backed off...

Monday Niter

You like your football?...many do, as the numbers were YUGE for the Monday Nite game last eve...it was a beaut...LaLa Rams (certainly not the Chargers!) and the Kansas City Chiefs...as it ended in a 54-51 thriller in the LA Coliseum...let's deal with that first...the site of the game...

Originally tabbed for Mexico City!...WTH?...why does the NFL farm out regular season games to there and London?...the league came up with an excuse to move it back to the USA...they said that the field in Mexico City was a mess...well, and, of course, there would be gads more people attending the game in Los Angeles...quit with the moving of games!...

The league also put together an all star band of officials for the 'special game'...hard to see any difference to moi...as the pockets of the refs appeared to be mighty loose...lawdy they called a lot of penalties...esp against KC in the first half...just an observation, from someone who had no dawg in the fray....however, ESPN did NOT follow the league's lead, as the announcing and analysts were TERRIBLE!...made it hard to listen to...really...

The game...extremely talented offenses...with the play calling so fun to observe...reminded me of when Chip was first at Oregon...both QB's are dandies...the defenses (?) were gassed and set into the rush 4 and drop 7 mode most of the game...so the signal callers had time to do their thang...it was a kick to watch...

You can make a case for either team to be the champ...they are in an elite field of 5, ie the Patriots, the Steelers, and the Saints...am I missing anyone else?...the win or the loss of last night will NOT deter the path ahead...

Other...

This thang that we have, keeps hanging on...had to be one of them bastard 24 hour+ flu things...I was told that when you get the flu shot, you are more susceptible to viruses out there in the wide wide world...apparently...both of  us were...weird?...or was the shot the culprit?...I'm not sure I believe the docs...

Lock her up!...oh my, Ivanka...Trump...couldn't heed the warning of what Hillary went thru...shouldn't she have known better?...using her personal email as she was discussing government business...her privy to the White House...my issue is this...why is she in there in the first and LAST place?...what is her position?...

This just has to be the end of Dancing With The Stars...as the weakest of all final 5 competitors, Bobby Bones, won the event...as much as the Judges tilted their views, it made no difference to the voting public...apparently, as no one really knows the totals...well, the common viewer doesn't...

A Federal Court Judge blocked the asylum ban that Trump has put into place...news!...egads, and this is one of them Judges that Donny appointed...this is just a mess...come to think of it, what isn't when it comes to Captain Chaos?...the Judge quote, 'he may NOT rewrite laws'...

The Stock Market...I listen patiently to those who tell me that Trump has improved our economy...just where are the signs of that?...look at the last 3 weeks of the debacle in the stocks...so many stores closing their shops...prices are rising everywhere...NO, I don't see what they are saying...wake up people...

An item popping up all over the map...dropping a team in sports...FOOTBALL...the number of participants have been dwindling in the high schools...the cost of running it in the collegiate level is very high...and if you are losing, guess what?...people stop attending...such is the plight of UNLV...numbers that go to the games, are barely 10,000...hmmm, and they have that new stadium going up in Vegas...hmmm...

Hoops...Duke played SDSU in Maui yesterday...to be fair, the Aztecs had a decent game...really...but the Blue devils are AWESOME!...almost a 30 point win...in the timeouts, they played scenery shots, ie, downtown Lahaina...man, I love that place...

The Civil War...for you down here in SoCal you have NO IDEA...in the PNW, its the Ducks and the Bevos...usually a terrific matchup...regardless of the records...I think this will be another one of those, even tho the host, OSU is a 14 point dawg...read this in the Oregonian feed, that former Duck FB Coach, Mike Bellotti, has said that the UO QB, Justin Herbert, 'has regressed'...maybe, another year in college, could really help...

The medical field tells me that it can't happen...it has nothing to do with the happenstance of getting the 'flu shot'...but, an unsupportive two year analysis by the Horse, figures otherwise...in each of the past years, I have got the shot...and within a few days...I HAVE THE FLU!!!!...what the Hell?...to complete the query, I have glanced at the responses to the 'who has the flu?' in Facebook ...those, some who have it now, say this, 'but I just got the flu shot!'...

24 hours of not sleeping...that will do ya, believe me...the fever, the Excedrin, the rest, the liquids...the idea of the Brat diet...this after, the ultimate self destruction that I went thru, and I will spare you the gory details...finally, as the evil, whatever it is, passes thru my system, I have the wants and desires of SLEEP!!!...so, I take some NyQuil Extreme...BTW, have you ever tried to open those packages, when you are weak and weary?...takes a pair of scissors and then, I dropped one of the two in a drawer, where I couldn't find it...I digress...

Success!...and am feeling like 90% this am...thus, I am writing...to you...listen, Marsh, went thru the same...imagine this household for the past 2 days...the sleep was dreamy and totally helpful...don't tell me that the flu shot, does not have some impact on me getting the flu...

Watching the pixels...non stop...and I came upon this debacle...Chris Wallace interviewing Trump...I can't help it...but the guy is reprehensible...his views are so wrong...and scary, too...his take on the Bin Laden situation, the banning of the news reporters, the questioning of his OWN CIA over the killing of the Wash Post writer, the list goes on and on...how can ANYONE support anything what this guy promotes?...it disgusts me to even HEAR his voice...

Let's get real here...my Fantasy Football team...last...and apparently 'tanking' all the games to get the first pick for next year...scored a whopping 161 points for the week...and probably will lose yet again...that has to be a record...am going against the top team...there is a reason for his/her record...

The CNN Jim Acosta White House credential pass...a Federal Court Judge reinstated it...much to the dismay of Trump...who then said that he would use measures to quiet Acosta...is his constant battle with free speech...listen, kids, this is bigger than what is on the surface...more power plays by the guy...he informed CNN that he was going to revoke Acosta's credentials again, this am...BE AWARE of what this means...suppressing voices...stand up people....

Trump wants to show to the Country that he has the power...to do whatever he wants...say whatever he wants...and now, he can control the judicial system to foster his personal desires...wake up, kids...this is REAL!...
