CRAZY HORSE

Time for a history lesson from the Horse ...back in the day...the adult beverage of choice was the liquor, bourbon...in particular, Jim Beam ...mostly thanks to the tutelage of Rick Z, I must add ...as I was mostly a guzzler of the beer stuff...not a lot, mind you...and we are talking in me late 20's to boot...I know, hard to believe, but true... And it remained the chosen one...until the past decade... as I have aged, my preference has gone to others, that too, have been aged a bit longer than the Beam ...a wide allotment of look sees...Jack, Dickel, Basil Hayden, Blantons, Calumet Farms, hey, the list goes on...until the last time we were back in Orygun... I asked the barkeep at one of the new bars in the revamped downtown area of me old stomping grounds in Salem...to 'get me a shot of one of your finest...bourbons' ...alas, it was a gem!...and to be had neat, was important...yes, I shared it with my good buddy, Snooki (of course, he bought it) ...it was named Pappy...

I'm sure you have read plenty of them negative columns...where the author spends the majority of the space, ripping apart what is ailing him or her...yes, I could do that today...and show me disgust with the product that the Padres put forth yesterday in their Opening Day ...but, alas, I won't go there...I won't talk about the feeble hitting, where for a goodly part of the game, there was NO Pad hits...none, nada, zilch, ZERO! ...with all the hoopla of the increased hitting prowess that the organization would have us believe...but NO, I will NOT go there...so, I will talk about the positives...ah crap, we have 161 more chances to show what we got... 0 fer 1 ... Them Bums and Giants did play after all... they got Chavez Ravine scrubbed up and playable ...no mention to the odor on the pixels of the field...of course, the ESPN Network had it as their prime time event...a 1-0 show of the aforementioned lack of hitting...see, they have the same epidemic...the NEW analy...

Morning, ya'll!...it is Opening Day for the entire Major League Baseball league...well, all but them Bums and Giants ...more on that a bit later...the mighty San Diego Padres are hosting the Milwaukee Brewers ...and it begins...81 home games over at Petco...just a scant 8 blocks away from the Horse... We are as we speak, tied for first ...or last, depending on how you look at things...if you go by the latest and I do mean LATEST , Sports Illustrated...the author of the article has us dead last ...actually winning fewer games than in '17...balderdash...the over/under in Vegas has grown to 74 ... we will be a contender , much to the amazement of the rest of the beisbol world...mark my words, on 3/29/18 ... Yup, no longer have half season tix....lawdy, we just can't go that often...but there are some peops in the home here, that have full season jobbies ...which they will post, and we will grab 'em...one set is in the most preferred area for M, the Omni Club ...and ...

Have you ever wondered why some people seem to have more WISDOM than others?...like they seem to make the right choices every time...say the most eloquent of words...smile at the ideal moments...carry themselves as that others want to emulate them...you KNOW what I'm talking about...JFK had it...Obama has it...Oprah has it...George Clooney, too...you add who you think does...
