So don't get me wrong about this, the " Cash For Clunkers " has some merit to it....you can get up to $4500 for your drivable clunker...and it does clear the US of many carbon dioxide smoking machines, it does clear the path for new cars, it does keep the car companies in production, it does keep the car crashers busy...but the cubing of cars does come at the expense of the American taxpayer... twice it has been funded ...and who gets the vouchers? Supposedly mostly the states with the most traffic... Michigan (I suppose GM and Ford?) and California car companies....and what are the people buying with their clunker credit? Top 5 are the Toyota Camry , Toyota Prius , Toyota Corolla , Honda Civic , and the Ford Focus. ..Well, you see where I am going with this...and what are the leading clunkers? the Ford Explorer , Ford F150 , Jeep Cherokee , Jeep Grand Cherokee , and the Dodge Caravan ...is it the Toyota and Honda rigs are better made ? Duh ...the jury is out o...

One of my favorite summer shows is " So You Think You Can Dance " hosted by Cat Steeley ...not sure what on earth happens to the winner but it is great entertainment as long as you can get by the screaming of one of the judges...I don't even know if they win $500 grand or whatever... Jeez, I thought the trade deadline was over...the Padres traded Gaudin to the Yankees for a player to be named...good for Chad...and Bud Black got an extension for another year...can't we trade Towers to Tijuana ? Former President Bill Clinton pulled off a marvelous maneuver with the North Koreans as he helped free the 2 journalists held there...it is just awesome that in this day in age where finality is usually a high disregard for life... that there is still diplomacy available as an option...the man can talk and he is still an asset for this country... Part of the Jake Peavy deal was the addition of 4 pitchers from the White Sox organization...3 of them are good sized...6'6' and taller...that throw smoke...the Russell kid is 6'8" and throws 97 ...I can't believe it but I think Towers pulled off a steal...anyway, the AAA team for the Padres is the Portland Beavers of the PCL and they are on Comcast here and I have been watching the prospects...cool... With all the mayhem of Jake Peavy being traded to the White Sox ( Prez O exuberates!) lost is the fact that one of the members in the deal is a strong lefty named Clayton Richard ...who gasses up at 95...and led the Padres to their 5th straight win last night...against the Brew Crew ...yes that one that boasts their closer to be... Trevor Hoffman ...I do hope they get to face him in this series... Kooz and the boyz are actually hitting the ball... So I have not followed the Buick Open so much..saw Tiger was on the verge of missing the cut again...and read today HE IS IN THE LEAD !!! Rounds of 63 & 65 will do it...
