It's a Good Day

Image
No, make that a GREAT DAY ...what's not to like?... the Pads, the Bulls, and the Clip Joint all won! ...and that is a rare feat, my good friends...and this makes Horse a very happy bloke... The Pads needed the W in the worst way...as it was the offense that woke up and scored 6...with two guys flirting with the never before achieved "cycle" by a Padre... Venable and Myers, both Will's ...for you non-baseballers, that is a single, double, triple, and HR in the same game...each had 3 parts...and the record stands...no SD has yet to do it...concern?...our ace, Shields, gave up 4 more dingers...and leads the league in that distinction ...and not a good one...yet, he got the win...has to be pitching lower in the zone... NBA ... the Bulls won the game on a prayer by Rose ...a last second banker from downtown...and lead the series 2-1 over the over-hyped Cavs...and LeBron...shweet....and the Clip Joint used the return of CPIII to destroy the brainless Rockets...and Au...

Maybe we should call it VENTING ...er, well, I dunno...used to be you'd call someone up on the tele, and say what disgusts you...or, maybe, do the same and say what it is so great about something...now, the famous people...who depend on the masses for popularity and fame, call it haters...if you say something bad about them...and, in this age of social media ...it's all out there...and the same thing that made them what they are...they are talking trash about the medium... There are good parts...not sure of anything more "right now" than Twitter ...and it's used by anyone...not just a biased news service...but, it's unfiltered and that may be bad...and Facebook ...where you can see what others not only say, but what they look like, and what they are doing...which is kind of cool...and there are others that you may be aware of... The web net triggers me mind most every day...I have a number of sources that I gander at before I write each time... BREAKI...

The REAL Foundation

Image
It's about time for a good read...and reminded me of when I was employed...the different regimes would come and go...but the school had to keep going as usual...regardless of whom the new principal was... the backbone?...the secretarial staff ...who were the stability of the situation...and have to admit, most every one of them were jewels...so much more dependable than the big bosses....sorry, but it's true...and really, I'm not sorry at all... The book is called "The Residence" ...a non-fiction one about the same backbone to the most famous of all houses...The White House...you could call this the "White House Abbey"...as it covers the same type of people behind the scenes...who run the residence of the country's presidents...the CEO's come and go every 4 or 8 years, and the servants stay on for them all....very fascinating read...trust Horse... You don't think I wouldn't talk about the last game of the SF series for the Pads ...i...

Suddenly Silent

Image
Poo...and just when I thought that the Pads were on the hit train...well, not so much...as the Bay Area is not conducive to San Diego scoring runs...any runs...as we were shut out again...that's two games in a row...must be the cold weather...or the Giant's hurlers are cheating...er, you are getting my drift...if we are to be in the upper echelon, we have to beat SF at their place...let alone the Bums in theirs... I have to call Memphis gutty...the gutty Grizzlies ...as their PG, fresh off of facial surgery...and we are not talking cosmetic, K fam...had a super game...ended up cramping...which is so tuff on the bod...I used to go through those, way back when I tried to play...and beat Golden St in Oakland...they got off to a fast start...and packed the middle, and the Warriors couldn't do what they do...hit from the 3 point line...and a tie now in that series...and made GS look vulnerable... The David Letterman Special on CBS...simply marvelous...he has had a length...

Cinco de Mayo

Image
Is this diff than Quatro de Mayo? ...I suppose so...hey all...waking up to cloudy skies...and a hope, er chance, of some of the wet stuff...for the rest of the week...I have never figured this place out for that...talking San Diego...for such a dry climate it is very green... So your best player and only point guard on your team is OUT!...and you are playing one of the better ones in Houston...and your replacements make a gazillion turnovers...and yet, you stomp the home team Rockets...huge difference in the coaching...so says me...a key in the fray...smart defensive plays by Austin Rivers... the Clip Joint getting the W and changing the series already...reminder, it's the best of 7...so one never knows... How about the Bulls beating the Cavs...love LeBron losing...not sure why...but, it is cool to see it...Dunleavy had a great start...and something I have said for a long time...who could ever think that Noah is MVP material...can't shoot, is a near TO every time he tou...

Monday Decaf

Image
Good morning kids...how the heck are you?...let's start with the Pads ...a SWEEP! ...as the hitters hit...the pitchers were so so...and the new San Diego Padres got a 3 gamer versus the always offensive Colorado Rockies...and woah...hold the phone, Gyorko hit a dinger ...what?...and the Trib went ballistic... "he's back" , so they said... not so fast, my good friends ...it's a nice baby step...lost in the stupefying headlines was Upton's 2 doubles and a HR ...c'mon, let's get real...and now, off to SF for some very important games...and egads, it's MadBum tonight.... Rory got the Match Play T ...and he needed it...to keep his upper echelon status amongst his peers...that was in SF, too...have to admit, I saw very little of the event...had little clue to what the format was in the first 3 days...muddled...staying in the sport... Tiger, you know, HIM, and his latest squeeze, Lindsey Vonn, have called it quits ...it's the way of the rich an...

Sporty Saturday

Image
And when have you had such a action packed Saturday for all type of sport?...been awhile...and pretty much will find your choice of one, or many...for moi, it was the Derby ... As the fav, American Pharaoh , pulled out a thrilling stretch drive to narrowly beat one of my long shots...ah yes...so I hit the Exacta, and $10 across the board on Firing Line...and made some cash, my friends...both these jockeys are from SoCal...the back to back winner, Victor Espinoza...and the elder stud, Gary Stevens...cheers!... The Clip Joint did the upset...and beat SA in a barn burner...two very good teams playing like it was the champ game...this would not have happened if the league didn't have the ridiculous division winner clause...which put the Blazers in the upper tier of the bracket, even though they had a much poorer record...I'm sure the owners will change this...back to the game...when it came down to the real deal...CP III hit the winning shot, on a fallaway one foot ban...
