One of things that I don't get... why pro franchises sign a player for more than 5 years ...who lasts that long?...I mean, c'mon... the Bears...Chi-town...signed their QB, Jay Cutler , for 7 years ...which would make him about 50 at the end of his contract (bad math)...and will be about 2 or 3 changes in the coaching staff, to boot...has this ploy ever worked?...especially in MLB... it NEVER does ...silly... The NE has been deluged with the winter stuff...and how does this affect me?...well, the Bolts play at Cincy on Sunday...there you go...not only white, but very cold...this HELPS the Chargers ...what?...they are not used to that type of weather...true, but they are a ball control team... take the points and SD ... The oh so not clever term for the firing of the NFL coaches after the regular season ends... Black Monday ...and this time the magic number is 5 ... as the blokes didn't win enough...so POOF! ...they are gone...don't worry much, as they will emerge as O and D Coordinators for some other team...and soon...they just won't be taking the hits as the boss...nowhere else is this type of recycling done...and... these owners will get new guys who do the same stuff as the recently departed...very little innovation in this league... Just a few weeks back, San Diego was listed as less than a 1% chance of making the playoffs ...really...WELL...the near impossible, er improbable happened... Miami had the inside track...and then it was Baltimore , the reigning Champs...it would take a total collapse of both of them...and SD winning out...and in the last week...er yesterday... the Dolphins lost to the embattled Jets ...whose coach, one of the Baby Boy Ryans, had to win to secure his job...and the Ravens lost to the Bengals ...who were fighting for playoff position....so far so good... The Chargers were in with a win...and they were hosting another team already in the playoffs... the Kansas City Chiefs (?) ... who decided to rest 20 of their 22 starters ....sure thing then, right?...not so fast my friends... KC is loaded with depth ...and led SD the entire game...which would mean, with a loss, the last spot would go to the Pittsburgh Steelers...got it?...the Bolts got hot in the 4th and tied the bloody game ...

Morning kids... it's a beautiful day here in the Q ...or close to it...I guess we are actually called in the Marina...ha ha...whatever...another long string of hot weather...there were incidents yesterday, like my ankle stress trying to walk the course...and the collapse of coaching in the PDX loss to the Heat (minus LeBron) at home... BUT ...today I give you the lists... the Best ...and the Worst ...of the year...
