Does the Senate not remind of you of times gone past?  Sit ins, sit downs, protests, burning of the draft cards, and on and on.  As John Lennon sang it, "Give Peace A Chance!"   I think it's cool that we have Democrats that are that passionate about what they can't control.  In essence, that is what protesting is.  Let the dominate side know that they are there, and they have a different view. In case you have been under a rock, or flat out don't care much about our Congress, there have been a group of Democratic Senators who have been staging a sit in over the lack of gun control bills passed by the group.  I think I have seen strong verbal battles by the other side with the protesting group.  The rule is to not have any video of what's been going on.  Ha ha!  "Senators, will you please all turn off your cell phones!"  Regardless, the overall leader, you next Republican boy, Paul Ryan, has shown contempt for it all.  Finall...

Shoot...it is HOT here in SD...one of the reasons for us moving here is the mild temps...year round...ahem...well, we are in one of them rare heat waves... over 90* yesterday and today...over 100* over in El Cajon, where my golf club is...so...while the kids were here, we abolished the bike ride (duh) and hit the pool...smart move...and celebrated Father's Day... Of course, there were two big events on the pixels...let's start with the (US) Open ...where the bridesmaid finally got to be the...well, you know... Dustin Johnson ...the masterful hitter of the golf ball... nobody is better right now...nobody longer...with the woods or the irons...his bugaboo has been his putting ...really...he should have won by 10+...but this course in Pennsylvania...Oakmont...brought everyone to it's knees on the greens...outside of a "rules infraction" hovering about...the USGA, the amateur group, handled it terribly...you see, they have but one event on the year...this one....

OK, yet another day that is set aside to honor one of your parents... you know, you wouldn't be here otherwise ....take some time, if you can...I never did enough...am I like you, take so much for granted?... pictured is my dad and my son ... Happy Father's Day!... The son and his missus are here for the weekend...way way cool...the highlights include a jet boat ride on the bay...not for the faint of heart...absolutely got drenched...ha ha...a new thinger down here in SD...and a beauty of a meal at Ruth's Chris ...you know it is a steak place...we are looking at a bike ride, I think, today...and they are staying for the NBA finals... Golden St and Cleveland ...well, now...I'm sure the league is happy...saw a stat that says for every extra game past 4 (sweep), it nets the people involved over $40 million A GAME! ...hmmm...naw, there is no "rigging" going on...it's certainly not about the money...no way...a critical factor, is who the brass rolls...
