The in’s and outs of setting up Cosmo...and us...well, it is very time consuming....the driving is the easy part...our 1st stop in Huntington Beach, is always a trip...a fish market that was spectacular with a view to match...gosh, I got some great pix...ah, not worthy of the Pinnacle wall of fame, I’m sure...the judges are heathens...I digress... This am, clouds have taken over...as we set sail to Montecito... We watched the Aretha Franklin flick...starring Jennifer Hudson, who was sensational....had no idea that Aretha was that messed up...the movie a tad bit long, but the hits were worth it...we did see her in concert a few years back... Hope you cats are doing well...speaking of that...Boss Lady told me we are getting a feline...cat..so much for my vote...happy wife, happy ________! The leaderboard in the Sopranos Open is awesome...all the name dudes are up there...Rahm, Scheffler, Schauffle, and Spieth leading the way....cool... Oops, here comes the sun...the Beatles...

Nobody wrote about 'LOVE" better than Burt Bacharach...nobody ...as I told you yesterday, he had died at the age of 94...leaving a legacy of countless songs, many about 'LOVE' ...it's really hard to pick one out, but from my era 'Close to You' , sung by the Carpenters ...was as legendary as they come...wonder how many weddings used this tune as part of the ceremony?...he shall be missed for sure...especially in this month of 'LOVE' ... So many trades this year in the NBA, as the deadline for 'em passed yesterday...the reason? ...so many teams with a shot at the playoffs...outside of KD going to the Suns, the gaggle of them are for 2nd unit helpings...interesting that some franchises have been storing up 2nd round picks...how many of these guys actually make it in the bigs?...'prospects' they call them in beisbol...oh yea, I told you LeBron would sit vs the Bucks...which he did, and they lost again...smile... The art of ownership...tinkertoys...the fat cats owning an NBA team for their personal pleasure...why not? ...some of us, the elders on a fixed income...dabble with the price of eggs...plan trips on a dime...whatever that is...and these blokes, spend billions of dollars to get their best value in a hoops team...trading like these human beings are no more than basketball cards in a set...they got it and that's the game they play... Nowadays, the players get outrageous amounts of money ...as they play for pay...so the movement, is not so bad...when they get traded from one rich cat to another...and we, the fan, probably have to absorb a bigger price tag to the seat (s) we sit in...to watch these guys play the game...fair enough, I reckon...as the stadiums, er arenas, are filled with adoring patrons...'MVP' is the chant...sure enough... We want our team to be the champion....so does the owner...especially the owner ...the fat cat will get bigger...richer, and thus, happier...s...

The State of the Union Address...Prez B did his thing...it was good for him...notice my statement...he is not an Obama type of speaker...nobody is...however, his message of 'Let's Finish the Job' came out loud and clear...perhaps, too clearly...as the wildly unenthusiastic right begged to differ...here is my beef...the shouting out in the House is abysmal...Speaker McCarthy had asked for his followers to be civil...to act like they belong there...unfortunately, to deaf ears...for youse who have seen the way Britain holds their meetings...state addresses, whatever they call theirs...the shouting out is expected...not here...well, I guess there may be a carryover...and a new normal may be in the works...too bad... Yes, I was impressed with Kevin McCarthy...he tried to shush the hecklers...the effort was there, kids... Did NOT watch the rebuttal speech by the Repubs...Huckabee did it...and does not warrant a look from this blogger...saw enough of her while she was touting her ...

The night belongs to Prez B, as he will give his 'State of the Union' address ...for the first time, the House chair will not be Nancy Pelosi, well, in a long time...another Cali person, Kevin McCarthy...fills the void...er, seat, behind the Prez...sitting along side him is the VP Harris...we live in divisional times, kids...thus, really hard to please the masses... McCarthy is a name from the 60's era...Gene, a Senator from Minnesota ...who was running for Prez, after JFK was assassinated, and LBJ gave up the position...definitely the choice of the young at the time...well, until RFK entered the race...both wanting to get out of Vietnam... The Horse used the 'State of the Union' address back when he was coaching hoops ...ha ha, it probably was received just as well as Prez B's version will be...the last Wednesday of the regular season...oh well, I had fun doing what I was prepared to do... Well, we did watch the Grammy's ...after all...cuz they started at 5...ah, as long as we could stomach it...if it not for Stevie Wonder, Chris Stapleton, and Smokey Robinson, the entire night of 'musicians' would have been a total bust...we are NOT in good hands at this moment in pop music...country genre, yes...pop, no... From Nancy Sinatra ... "I'm too old to watch the Grammy Awards.". ..we all may be... Did you watch the segment on '60 Minutes' of the trump money inflation gig? ...if it were anyone else, they would be in the slammer right now...perhaps, his time is a coming...I still think he just laughs at the judicial system, as he goes on his merry...

There are many that last a long time in the biz...unfortunately, the numbers have been dwindling of the finest era of music ...well, in the eyes of the Horse... 50's thru the early 70's ...might be cuz that was in me hey days...who knows...but, one who has thrived is the singer of Bang Bang ...
