Eleven

Once in a great while I am so surprised by my team...case in point, the Padres score ELEVEN runs on the Braves...I'm not sure this team has scored 11 in 4 games, total...nicely done, boyz... The 19 year old , that won the amateur in the US Open, shot a 60 in the 2nd round of this week's PGA tourney...60, let's see...I usually have that by the 14th or 15th hole...wow... This gal, Yani Tseng, makes it look so easy, as she is whupping all the LPGA'ers in their major... We went out on the town last night, and I am still baffled by the notion of Thai food...never, ever had a good dish... OK, that's it...see you manana...

T Bone

Sure, if you are going to change your name to "World Peace" then I should change mine to "Tee Bone" ... Not really primed for the reason, but I watched most of the NBA draft...why was the crowd booing the commish?  The Kings getting Jimmer before the Jazz could...kind of interesting... PDX traded Miller , which is greeeeeaaatttttt...but Rudy , too?  San Antone did a marvelous job of trading and drafting...what was Minnesota doing? So let's see, your gurl Lindsey , is in house arrest, she parties, she tests pos for alcohol, she goes back to court, she gets off 'cuz of great timing, she announces it was just tea she imbibed...that contained a bit of alcohol... You northerners could care less, but the Dodgers are in disarray...nasty divorce of the owner couple...and lurking is the money of none other than Mark Cuban ....yup, that guy, who owns the Dallas Mavs ...in my crystal ball, I see good times ahead for LA ... Staying in baseball...an ar...

NBA Draft

Image
And with the 24th pick in this year's draft (1986), the Portland Trailblazers pick from Lithuania, Arvydas Sabonis ....and the groans went up loud as can be.... SABONIS! ...it was a time where no man was picked outside of the US of A...and I can remember being at a hoop camp working for my old boss, Chuck Robinson, as we, too, groaned...when the announcement was made...you see, in Oregon, IT IS THE PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS and only them...and at the time, seemed to be a wasted pick...turned out to be a very good one, as Arvydas had like 7 or 8 pretty good seasons with PDX ....it took awhile for him to finally get over to the US to play, in the 90's...but he was a major player for 'em...  which brings me to this question...from what country will the Blazers do their picking today?  Their pick is in the 20's again, and chances are, not a major player...so, do they trade?  I reckon so... Break up the Padres !  They won two of three at Boston ...and now head back ho...

Finally

The Pads played an enjoyable game...what?  Yup, it's true...not only the fact that they won, but they played well...and the relievers did a great job...of course, it has to be Qualls, Adams, and Bell ...the others are not so good... Rizzo's fly out in the 9th was a bomb, and would have been out of any other park...there is promise there kids...just hang in there...I suppose if there has been 6 consecutive walks, the next batter should swing on the first pitch...what?  True, Ludwig did such a thing...wow, what world was he on?  Can't imagine...OK, it was just nice to see a win and the Pads play well...most of the time... As the NBA draft closes in tomorrow...the banter is about possible trades...one is out of San Antone, where they are shopping their PG Parker ...that would be a nice fit for the Blazers ...but available for such a low draft pick?  I doubt it....Another is the Wolves desire for the Laker's Bynum ...very interesting... whatever, the Cavs have 2...

The Embarrassment Continues

Image
And just when you thought it couldn't get worse...gave up 10 runs in one inning and got lambasted by the Boston Red Sox ...well, the Pads did score 5 runs...against a minor leaguer...and the major destroyer?  None other than former SD star, AGonzo ... the frustration level must be at an all time high, you'd think...face another back up guy today...does it make any difference who it is?  By the way, Adrian looks mighty happy in this pix, don't you think? Did see a movie that was fun...a little ditty about Rock Radio just outside of England in the late 60's and 70's...the music of that era was a blast and they used it for real...try it out...it was called "Pirate Radio" ... Your Bachelorette ...this young gal appears to have very little self confidence...and her continued tears for the guy who jilted her...well, doesn't she know he's Mormon?  Isn't that a problem for somebody who's not?  And he isn't in to her...so what rock is s...

Rory Big

Image
It's been a good long while that something big has happened to the PGA...sure, the other guys get their chances, and actually get to win, as Tiger has been injured and all... BUT ...no, this is real different...out of the depth of the ever expanding youth golf out there, comes this bloke from Ireland (Northern), Rory McIlroy ...he's been in contention for about 2 years now...he wins this one by eight...and the similarities start reigning down with him and the aforementioned Tiger ...and the ovations and chants for him in Maryland as he devoured the course and humbled the field, was just the indication how hungry the golf public wants a new hero...well kids, you got one... This topic just keeps going down and down and down... the pitiful Padres ...it was but a couple of weeks ago that the pundits said they couldn't win at home, well now they can't win on the road, either... and they are playing bad baseball ...striking out way too often as average and below average ...

Father's Day

It used to be a time that we celebrated... as my dad had 5 of us ...and then the torch was passed and I became the recipient...and I thought, think, of it as my son's day...not that he needed it, but, I was just so grateful to have a beautiful, healthy kid...and as time has gone on, I am just so proud of him...yup, you bet, it is definitely Father's Day ...and it's a great day... The Rory Experience ...he just continues to amaze me as he completely dominates the field in the US Open in Maryland...don't get me wrong here, but...he has a very good swing and all...but he doesn't have the "it" factor that Tiger , Lefty , or even Sergio , possesses...nevertheless, I want him to finish it off and get the 1st of many "majors"...he hits the ball long, straight, and has no fear...and as Johnny Miller says, he's young enough to make all the little putts, too....what?  OMG the Padres ...it has become the horror flick of all time ...a bit too har...
