There is but one happening today in the greater SD area...the match up of the two top teams in the Mountain West... San Diego St . and Brigham Young University ...each team has had great success this year...SDS's only loss has been to them, in Utah...so payback is the answer...the only down part of this is the weather...a one day rain storm has hit...whatever...it is on national TV at 11, so all of you can see it...maybe not you Joel in Brazil...but most of you... I did get to watch PDX vs. the Nuggets last night...the Blazers found a way to win it in OT, and it was super to see Brandon Roy contribute...I have to say this...Denver is better without Melo...speaking of him...his Knicks got beat by Cleveland...ouch...hey, he's a fine player, but has baggage... Did you have the final groups in the Match Play in Tucson?  Yea right... The fastest month ever... Your fav, Kelsey Grammer already got married...what? I haven't talked much about your boy, Charlie...spiral...

Have I told you how much I hate these voting schemes for the latest awards, The Oscars ...when was the award for best picture ever given (er won) to a comedy...or to a film that the general public actually attended prior to the announcement...hey, I'm with ya about seeing the "stars" parade around in their beautiful duds...but fuggetabout it if you ever see an Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Ben Stiller, Jennifer Aniston, etc. win one....it's pretty much the same old boring nominees...and sorry to say, but Annette Bening was involved in the worst written show of the year...and it was nominated as was she...and they both may be given the awards (er won)...look for a streaker to liven up the boring broadcast...and who on earth are those hosts...OMG! Geez, the Aztecs are hosting themselves a beaut...BYU is here and the town is abuzz...parades and long lines for the available tix...and due to the national TV, the game is at 11 in the am...here's the scoop, if SDS doub...

I keep talking about the demise of the Lakers ...well... Is the only reason we care so much about the Middle East is because of their oil?  Is it that we want them all to have democracy, as we continue to banter about?  Weren't we happy enough when those countries were dictator led?  It seems...well...we are so dependent on that bloody oil...and we want to get it over there, not around here...Albeit, the stability of the world is rocked right now...the mid twenties of that region want a say in what they do...and they will get it...case in point, Gadhafi in Libya...he has shown that brutal leadership will lead to an overthrow...as we watch... Unfortunately, the elected leaders of the local communities, have to figure a way to balance their budgets...and the only way to do so is to cut back...where do they do so?  Schools, fire department, police department, roads, parks, that type of public paid phenomena...and now the popular method is by cutting teachers...but first...they figure on busting the unions...and we have a ma...

Have I told you how much I am disgusted with award shows?  It's not a whole lot different than the AP polls for collegiate sports...I was totally surprised by the numbers that the Ducks got this season in football...I really think the backing of world wide Nike helped, a lot...now comes along small market, MWC leader, virtually regular season unbeatable... San Diego St ...who just keeps winning...and 4 of the 5 teams ranked above them got beat.. .Ohio St. twice!...and the only movement was, of course, Duke. ..and the Aztecs remained 6th...OK, OK, the other teams are playing in tougher conferences, you say...well, the ESPN Coaches Poll has it different... SDS is fourth...just the facts mam... SDS has the best record in the country and has the best RPI...this is a long rambling way of saying that the polls are east coast biased, 'cuz that's where they reside and never, ever see SDS play...the big deal is this...the seeding they get in the Big Dance... Melo did get o...

Yup, it's snowing in New York ...does it ever end?  My oh my...it's pretty to watch...in contrast, it's been cold and sunny here...well, keep it in perspective, mid 60's and very cold wind...and yup, I'm hitting the links in El Cajon ...and will carry a jacket just in case... Not a bad NBA All Star game... Kobe won the MVP as he led the West in an upset, I guess... King James is for real, huh...and I lurve the game of OC's (Seattle's) Durant ... Well, Freddy Couples just couldn't pull off the magic he needed to win in LA...and the Aussie and his youth prevailed...too bad, I was hoping for the oldish guy... The Republicans are really trying to rally the troops to come up with a viable candidate...not yet...and it won't be your gurl Sarah ... I fear the worst for Libya ...of course, I always have... It's a sign of the times that the LPGA has to play their tour all over the world to survive...I just don't get it...I'd rather...

Waiting for our table last night at dinner we heard this roar from the bar crowd...seems like this feller from the Clippers , yup, the Clips...was putting on a show in the Slam Dunk Contest of the NBA All Star Weekend ...and we gandered at Blake Griffin do some very acrobatic things...and his final of the over the car and smash down was... spectacular !  I am one of the ones that like this part of the festivities...it's great TV and all...NOW, somehow it is to be written, that the wrong of not including PDX's LA in the mix...was a shame and a sham...the fans still vote for Yao Ming , who has only played 6 games in the last 2 years... correct this crap, NBA ... SDS survived at the Air Force ...by the way, the Cadet coach is a real beaut...and got it's 27th win of the season...next up is the rematch of BYU ...in San Diego...grand day for the Aztecs as two teams in front of them got beat, Pitt and Texas....should move up a notch or two...
