Wouldn't you just know...the Dodgers get the main headline in a very tight MLB race...the manager, Joe Torre , is stepping down and Don Mattingly , is the successor... LA is in disarray due to the ownership's marital spat...sound familiar Padres ?  You Giant fans are sure giving me the razz...the Pads are trying to survive...and now their best pitcher, Matt Latos , has hit the skids...gosh...but... SF be very aware of Colorado ...their lineup is scary good... Can the Aztecs go 3-0?  It's a big ? as the game at Missouri is considered a blow out for the home team...stay tuned...I got a feeling that SDS is better than a lot of scribes think...hey what's the weather for the Beavs game today?  And nobody...nobody...is talking about the Ducks / PSU game...no line on it... Time for some breakfast food...

This the open house day for us...we call it our soiree ...it's taken about 2 months to finally get 'er done...expecting 50-100 peops... you're invited, 4-7.... The Pads have finally fallen from 1st...losing to the Cards last night 4-0...shut out again...Oh my...in the last ditch effort, Latos goes today and Chris Young (remember him?) Saturday...let's see, how many games can you win without scoring a run?  Honestly, the Giants and Rockies have a much better hitting lineup...much better...the Pads strength?  The bullpen...if we can just get there...or use it early, if needed...drats... You know me by now...I look at the line of the NCAA football games...member I talked to you about the Louisville/OSU game being 17...it's now 20 1/2!  What?  UNLV at Idaho , only 7... USC at Minnesota , 11...gotta take those points... SDS at Missouri getting 13 1/2... Nebraska at Washington , giving 3...these guys know something...Ducks and PSU?  See yesterday's rant......

So the next season of Survivor has begun...and none other than Jimmy Johnson , the former NFL coach and commentator, is one of the oldies on the show...tough 1st night for him, but he did survive the 1st vote...an interesting group of contestants I think... As I thought, Hayden won the Big Bro ...a long drawn out affair, for the last show... The Rockies won the last game of a 3er....what on earth was Buddy doing staying with Richard so long with that bullpen...no excuse for his lack of action...none... Rachel Ray is a big time over-rated star in  show business...that's a bit harsh, but what the heck...why?  She's a great short order cook...but the rest?  Naw...nothing more than Oprah advantage... Do you remember just not long ago... Louisville was a powerhouse football team...and now a 17 point dog to the Beavers ... An article in the Trib , NCAA football,  about the amount of $ a lesser team gets for taking on a biggee...at the biggee's park...SDS has do...

The catalyst to the resurgence of the Pads ?  Aaron (Richie) Cunningham ...the sweet swinging OF, who has pop in his bat...reminds me so much of the Met's David Wright ...yup, another win at Colorado ...and...shut me mouth... Ryan Ludwig is finally hitting...finally...he who is not, is Chase Headley , mired in a huge slump...one rbi in the last 67 at bats...now that we have Jerry Hairston back, we should give the struggling 3b a day off...solid pitching by Jon Garland ...go Pads , and coupled with the Giants losing a one hit game to the lovely Dodgers ... The scribes here are frying the Bolts ...it's a long season and the worst happened...a little home cooking will bring everyone back to earth...still wonder if they are going to sign Vincent Jackson ...speaking of the NFL... Give me a break... Ines Sainz , the Mexican reporter...who is creating quite a stir covering the over exposed Jets ...well...here we go...nobody wins...she wears whatever she wants...is quite attrac...

Man o man...just when you think there is little hope...the Pads come out and play a super game at Colorado...go figure baseball...yes, at Colorado...5-4, led by Miguel Tejada with 4 rbi's...and the bullpen did their thing, and voila, a huge win...huge...so, game number 2...can this go on? The Bolts ...I think they miss Vincent Jackson big time...the O line looked great...awful weather...the special teams were not prepared...still...the 1st game the team just doesn't look like they are ready...sorry, but it appears to be coaching...however, you cut it...a loss again... After some good parts of 3 years...this blogger feels little writer's block ...there is too much going on down here...as the school year begins...where is the talk about year round schools?  Another brainless idea by out of contact administrators...oops, showing my lack of compassion... Did you see the FIBA?  The USA won and actually showed emotion...and the star?  Why of course the OC's (Supersonics)...

What a smack down at Tennessee ...the Ducks are for real...outstanding speed...I am a believer in the O coach at Eugene...the 2nd half wear down was a beaut...interesting what ESPN did after the game was over...switched to Ol Miss ...coincidence? James Madison over V Tech...what? Minnesota got beat by S Dakota St ...what? Air Force over BYU...nice... USC barely wins... Ohio St . and Alabama ...very, very good... Went to the Pads / Giants game...playoff atmosphere for sure... Pads 1-0...the place went crazy when Heath Bell came rumbling in...so cool...maybe Ludwig should try switch hitting... Tiger and Lefty paired together today in their version of the playoffs...supposedly, no love there... Bolts play on Monday...at KC ...yet, I'm all over the NFL games today...... Bengals at the Pats ... Niners at Hawks ... Off to Petco at 1... Latos vs. Lincecum ...1-0 again?
