How are you on these NBA matchups?...certainly drives the pixels, huh...ESPN, ABC, and TBS (TNT?)...for sure, the next in the west will be a doozy...probably dictate the direction of the finals...the Warriors beat the Clip Joint in a very bizarre series...4-2...now, move on to play the team that the Horse figures to be the one to beat in the league, the Houston Rockets...er, the Beard and his whiskers...

Who will win?...hey, I am the furthest from a prognosticator...but, feel that the Beard has a great shot at this one...this time...right now...cuz?...the way the game is officiated...touch fouls, that seemingly apply ONLY to him...iff, the refs continue what they have done all season long...which will bring the ever temper ladened Warriors to the brink of...combustion...sure, that's why they play the games...good TV...

The Blazers await the winner of the Spurs/Nuggets set...now at game 7, in Denver...listen, PDX has a great chance at beating either of those teams...another RIP CITY summer?...gosh, there have been some beauties in the past...fingers crossed...oh yea, I could care less about the east...not at all...

I don't really get the euphoria of the NFL draft in Nashville...what was that all about?...why so many people gathering?...was there something else going on?...200,000 + fans...for the picking of the players?...call me confused...

The ratings for American Idol have been down...enough that there is talk about cancelling the series...hey, kids...take a look if you haven't...there a couple of 'stars to be' in the group of 8...really...

A cherry in the martini, is when the college team wins the football or hoop crown, they get to go to the White House for a celebratory lunch...meet the Prez and get the glad hand...pix and all...however, the latest basketball winner, Virginia, has chosen to NOT GO...the Donny syndrome...

We did something we hadn't done for awhile...headed out to Mission Beach for an afternoon in the sand...perfect weather...light breeze...bright sun...we take our beach chairs...a Padre blanket...put on the Beats and boogie down....watch the surf and the surfers...gosh, it is great...takes our minds off of the things 'we can't control'....

I cringe every time I hear Trump's voice...seriously...it bothers me that much...his constant bellowing out...near shouting...I turn it off immediately...anyone out there, have the same response?...and, I am not talking about agreeing or disagreeing with what the bloke is screaming about...

The City Life

How many of you out there have ever lived in a big city?...like a downtown?...the high rise...the ever constant noise...er, sounds of 'the city', that has been mentioned over and over...by those that do...or, stayed in a hotel in one...for most, it's a transition that can't be done...GONE, is the garage...the place to store all of those items that you so badly need...that you put them away...I guess for safe keeping...

The stuff...that when you finally move elsewhere...you'll probably throw them out, or give away...I digress...the city life...makes you condense...your life...the mega miles to the restaurant or bar, is now BLOCKS...Uber, Lyft, or the cabbie, is the primary way of movement in the evening jaunts to wherever...or, to the airport...or the train...let's just say, it would take a lot of adjustments for YOU to move...to the city...

Yet, there is a time, that one figures that a more serene 'home' may be needed...and that is what we are going thru...becoming more mobile...for a number of reasons...not to be gone thru here today....but, a change of scenery is beckoning our call...BOOM!...already a snag...as ya'll know, we have been looking at a Class B RV...yes, really found the one that we would like...

A Winnebago...all the bells and whistles...the configuration is just perfect within the cabin...but...a major reason for purchasing the rig, is that it would be more convenient to visit the kids and the baby...alas, Santa Barbara is not a RV friendly town...there is only ONE RV park close enough for a visit...and you have to schedule it well in advance...thus, a red flag...having a Class B is to be able to roam about...at a whim...hmmm...so now we ponder...

The wait for the condo to sell, is a trying time...you all know this...showings...anticipation...you have gone thru with this with your countless homes that you have sold...and there are nerves and we just hate...owning up to things that are 'out of our control'...OK, enough of this...let's move on...

The NFL draft was in Nashville last eve...wowser...over 200,000 people in LowBroad for the event, was the estimation...oh my...the picture of all the peops was amazing...I am and have always been, mildly interested in the actual selections...where are the QB's going, mostly...the kid from Oklahoma was the first pick, going to 'Zona...weird, as their last year's pick (number 10 overall) was also a QB...well, new coach and new system...

Baffling was the next QB chosen...by the weird and wacky NY Giants...fresh off of trading away the best WR in the game...selected a QB from Duke!...what?...with the Ohio St QB available, I don't get it...wonder if this management, is a subsidiary of the Chargers fools, the Spanos group?...

Well, not to be outdone, in this mass of people...was the ever smart pop sanger, Taylor Swift...who found herself immersed in Nashville, too...and did a clever announcement of her new single to hit the airwaves at midnight...'Me?'...it's all about me...listen, kids, she is the dominant figure in the pop world...

The NBA wants the next set of series to get started...dang if the Spurs and the Clip Joint, aren't spoiling their party...prolonging the initial ones...hey, they are battling the two top teams in the west, if you go by the regular season record...the Clips/GS could be a real fun one in LA today...

Politics...

Joe Biden did not have the best of first days of running for the 2020 presidency...did you know he was the chair of the Anita Hill/Clarence Thomas incident?...ah, not sure exactly what it was termed...I did not...still a blight on our political system...

Top of the morning, kids...the weather down here in SoCal is finally back to 'normal'...pleasant, mild, light and breezy, soft sunshine,  well,  you get the drift...it is nice...and why we moved down here...yet, we have that itch to find another spot...it is what we do...stay tuned...to this bat channel and this bat blog?...

How about them Clippers...go back into Alameda and whupped the Warriors again...great defense, in a defenseless league, will do it...Doc Rivers has his blokes doing what very few can...good on them...further makes my bold prediction, that Golden St will NOT repeat, a reality...physical play hinders them...and they are too careless with the rock...

Fallout from the losing Thunder...Paul George, the 'defender' of the Dame winning shot...crassly announced that Lillard's 3 ball was a 'bad shot'...ah, it was for you, dude...and your mates...ya'll have a year to figure out what a good shot is...bye bye...

The mighty Padres swept the visiting ancient Mariners...well, not that ancient...a 1-0 win, featuring a pitchers duel here in the old west...well, not that old...wild wild west?...maybe, as the division that we are in, is doing really well...the 'sheriff', Chris Paddack, got his first win...2B Kinlser got the winning knock, a solo dinger in the 2nd...'somethings happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear'...

Joe...Joe Biden...has proclaimed 'he's in!'...another Demo in the presidential field for 2020...he is the FRONT runner...already...it's a long bumpy road, kids...we have to find someone that will stand toe to toe with the orange ogre...give him the what nots, just like he will...politics...mostly hate 'em...but, have to have 'em...

Speaking of Trump...he is trying to defy the 'rules of law'...encouraging all of 'his people' to DISREGARD the House's subpoenas...not show...OK, then...what will the courts do?...might be small in comparison, to when Mueller steps up to the microphone...

I find this discouraging... the lack of commentary on the actions of Saudi Arabia...does Trump have no shame?...speak out, bloke...speak out...

Really really odd day for the Futures...Nasdaq was up and the Dow down...choose your option wisely, you day traders...

Good lawdy, the conclusion to one of the better NBA playoff games...where solid play was the norm...and not the exception...both teams hitting clutch shots again and again...had big leads, and the other came back with beautiful runs...game tied...an OT lurking, as Damien Lillard, the...make that THE star of the Portland Trail Blazers...had the ball in hand...guarded by one of the best defenders in the league, Paul George...as he calmly, did a step back and launched a 37 foot jumper...to WIN the game and the series...his 50th point of the match...bedlam...BEDLAM!...the shot heard around the league...

Down here in San Diego...the gentle wind is bringing us a change in atmosphere...as the mighty Padres are churning out things that we are not used to...ah, like wins...got numero uno in a 2 game set versus the Mariners last eve...as Reyes hit a couple of dingers...and the clincher was an ESPN potential highlighter, when C Austin Hedges hit a 2 runs homer...that was in the glove of Seattle's CF, but when he hit the wall, the ball, popped out and over the fence!...top that off, was a miraculous put out by Hedges on a dribbler down the 1B line...where he threw the bloke out as he is airborne...today?...a day game...weird schedule...

How any nation can put up with another who does public beheadings is beyond comprehension...Saudi Arabia...37 (odd number for today, huh) people were killed this barbaric way...yesterday...something is wrong with the world, if nothing is done about it...where is the civilization?...

Need I start with politics, today?...as I am always searching for the masses of people, who are NOT blindly voting in the far right...ha ha...ah, the same might be said for those who vote in the far left...it's the brigades of humanity that are in the MIDDLE...that will drive the next presidential election...that of 2020...

What percent are we talking about?...30%?...maybe more...I have jested about that we need a candidate that talks mainly to that crowd...a 'third party' if you will, and I will...whatever, the key is this...get OUT to vote, whatever your affiliation...

Maybe I should have titled today, the right side of the left....either way...it is the brunt of the conversation...

Impeachment...such is the talk with the Demo candidates...there are those who say yay, and those who say nay...I say, that time will tell...and whatever the House of Reps uncovers...

Trump let this out, and it's a beauty, 'NOBODY disobeys my orders!'...

Beisbol...is such a hard game to play...really...starts with blokes throwing the ball, so hard, that it eventually ruins the arm...the batters, have to find a way to hit the pelota, often coming at them at 90+mph...and then, at 78+mph...and when a bevy of hitters all start connecting at the same time, you have success...or, if the chuckers, all are dominant for a couple of weeks, you have success...just sayin'...

In their Demo town halls...the wanna be president candy peops...voiced their thoughts on IMPEACHING Trump...3 said yes, Pete, Kamala, and Elizabeth...

In the Mueller investigation...I always have wondered why he didn't have Donny Jr in the hot seat...the word is 'Donny Jr refused to go'...simple as that...OK then, step right up House of Reps, and get DT Jr in that hot seat...'I don't recall...'...right...

Monday Quickee

Hey, kids...early tee time...so just a few thoughts to get out there to ya'll...the Sri Lanka bombings were done by an Islamic Radical Group...not sure if I heard of their name yet...but, the numbers are staggering...over 290 killed and 500+ injured...yes, this on Easter Sunday...so sad and maddening at the same time...

The Blazers get a huge win at OKC...as Dame and CJ dominated...that has the series at 3-1...going back to PDX...you know, both of these teams are built the same way...2 scorers and penetrators, 2 spot up shooters, and a big....the diff is that Dame is better than Westbrook....true dat...

The streak is OVER...as the Pads got a win...finally...been near a week...it's a loooong season...there are peaks and valleys...

Trump took some time off from all of his work, to go golfing in Florida...

His henchmen, are still at work...were, anyway...as his crew is trying to cuff the heck out of Iran...oil tariffs...good move, Donny...what's the price of gas now?...let's pay more!...

Took in our first Padre game of the year, last eve...got some of them great Omni Club seats...directly behind home plate...sweetness...alas, the charm of them, is that they get you into a special area...after getting into the arena from a private entry...ah, no lines...a private bar and food spot...HOWEVER, it has been revamped!...the buffet is gone...what the ___?...kind of forced us to get on out to the real world, watching the game...$12 beer...$8 popcorn...whatever...oh yea, the Pads?...lost their 7th straight...woooah, it's already better than I thought, that was ONLY the 6th straight loss...

Odd...as they appear to have all the parts...but, mysteriously can't get back to back hits...very few runs...seems like whenever there is a rally, up steps Wil Myers....who is a heck of a hitter, when the game is already won or lost...I dunno...I'm sure there is more to it...something is missing...call me baffled...
