Breeders Cup

Am off to the Breeders tomorrow. Prior to I'm going to give you my pix for the filly and mares today. Figure to bet $5 for each win tix. Sprint- Indian Blessing and Jazzy Juvenile Turf- Laragh and Saucey Evening Juvenile Fillies- Be Smart and Dave's Revenge Turf- Wait a While and Pure Clan Classic- Cocoa Beach and Hystericalady Bet $50 and I Win? Rays won game 2 and it looks like a tossup still. Moves back to Philly in the rain... Thanks to you for all your comments. They are all appreciated!

The Pix

What a great game 1 in the Series. Hamel is an absolute stud. Actually all the pitchers were great. Got to go with the Rays tonight. Here we go: 1. SDS over CSU, Wooah...gave up 70 last week and win here 2. Army over LTech, if Vegas pix Army so will I 3. ASU over Oregon, always in the desert 4. BYU over UNLV, as much as this bothers me 5. USC over Arizona, but closer than you think 6. Oklahoma over KS, top 5 team 7. Georgia over LSU, in Louisiana mind you 8. Chargers over the Saints, maybe the D will show up or maybe LT will 9. Ravens over the Raiders, one score maybe the only one of the day 10. Skins over the Lions, another low scoring thing Don't bet the farm here. In fact, I may miss all of them!

World Series

The match up of the 2 most unlikely teams gets going tonight. The Rays and the Phillies have been in the spotlight the entire season but doubters have been in the majority. The Rays in particular have had the season their way, but most felt they would crumble in the real pressure at the end of the season. I guess not. Their young pitching staff, their young hitters, and their youthful confidence will carry them to another Florida title. The Marlins had a similar season back a few years. The team was shortly disbanded for greener ($) pastures and I fear the same for these guys. Yet, it is nice not to see the likes of the Yankees and the Bosox in the Series. Money can't buy everything. The Phils have great pitching, some outstanding long ball hitters, but questionable relievers. There in lies the difference to me. Go Rays!

The points

So I look at the just released point spreads for the upcoming weeks games. Some just jump out at me: 1. Air Force giving 6 against New Mexico, after the Lobos scored 70 and AF squeaked by UNLV 2. CSU giving 7 1/2 over SDS, who just gave up 70... 3. Oregon giving 4 at ASU, where the Dux never play well 4. MSU giving 5 1/2 at Michigan, after the Spartans got drilled by OSU 5. NFL Houston giving 10 vs Cincy, it's the NFL... The Aztecs did not fire Long...and the Pads keep Towers, OMG make some moves people!

Blue Monday

So I got 6 right again. The NFL...Chargers looked again without a pass rush. And SD don't hate me, but LT is no longer a super running back. He goes down way too easy. The Colts have dropped off the map as well. Next week... The Rays in the World Series! It's all good. The only thing in the game was the Sox staying with the over the hill Varitek (3K's) so long. MLB has a problem with staying with the vets too long. The exception is the fresh faces of the Rays. SDS 's Long has tried in vain to rally his troops to keep his job. Losing 70-7 doesn't help. Here's my prediction for the Series. A lot of runs will be scored. The Rays will win, either in 6 or 7. Don't bet on it. Do bet on the Burke sisters on DTWS.

Sunday "the Results"

The Trib is hashing the Peavy departure. A done deal, but where? Garbage and the demise of the Pads I'm afraid. I got 5 of 7 pix right. Missed badly on the Ohio St. game. I am still bewildered by MSU beating ND. UNLV in a near miss vs. Air Force. UNLV much improved. Air Force running the awful triple option. Speaking of awful....SDS lost to 70-7 to New Mexico. OMG stay tuned to the firing of the coach. Oklahoma a real good team. And now the NFL...
