We don't usually watch the awards shows all the way through...the exception is the CMA'S....er, the Country Music Awards ...hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood ...their intro monologue was hilarious and poked fun at a lot of things, i.e. Taylor Swift...what me?...oh gosh ...here's my take on Miranda Lambert being the winner again...she's more country than pop...and that suits the voters more than some of the other more vocally gifted artists...and her hubby, Blake Shelton , won all the major guy awards...cool for him...he is country...does not hurt that his schtick on the Voice makes him more popular...and, Little Big Town , won for group...good, but better than Lady A ?...naw, but it's OK... As Crazy Horse promised, the Chargers beat up on the game Chiefs last night out at the Q...not that it didn't have it's Norv moments , but the D went fortunistic twice...scored a couple of TD's and SD won going away, 31-13...and the media was well a...

Hope your Halloween was groovy ...we finished it off with a grand black and white party at the Allen's...so cool... I taped some of the "key shows" of the evening...and watched 'em late...the good... Survivor ...gosh, how does this still happen?...I mean Seinfeld lasted only 8 years...this just keeps going on and on...the bad... X Factor ...I didn't hear one good voice out of 16...and, OMG, Britney...and why oh why is Khloe  a host?...it is a lame show and I'm not watching again... The Lake Show ...there is so much turmoil at the start of the season...it is said that the pre-season means nothing...as they lost every game... WELL ...the season has started and they lost again, this time to the Blazers ...big time question marks on the offense they are running...seems to me that it works...they don't have the pick and roll guys that  most other, more youthful, teams have...ha ha... The line has grown again to 8...the Duck / Trojan game...this will...

The Halloween Storm was all it was supposed to be...as NYC, New Jersey, and the surrounding areas got hit by the terror and water...it didn't seem to have the thunder and lightning that would seemingly go with it...the flooding is legendary... Speaking of terror...naw, but the DWTS show was full of the such...and the judging was perfectly awful...maybe follow the lead of Idol, and switch the cast...I mean Len is full of venom... Coach Norv is still the boss of the Bolts...it's a short week as SD hosts KC on Thursday...and believe CH, the Chargers will win this one...as the Chiefs are worse than us...much worse...expect a huge score...and Norvy will think he is safe...it's a short period...sorry, but it's true... The NBA starts it's 6 month season tonight...some significant changes...especially in LA...hey, look at Houston, as they are a much better team...am really happy that the Nets moved to Brooklyn...Blazers?...well...lots of talk about the Kings mov...

Normally I'd talk about the less mundane things that happen in the world of sports, entertainment, or politics...but...today the headline is the storm hitting the east...northeast... SANDY ...and as you see it is massive...enough so that NYC has shut down the subways and busses...and the Stock Market...as we will all watch the surge of the water and it's derivatives...and we just thank goodness, that we live in a very mild climate down here in SD...it's also being called the Halloween Storm ...probably the name that will stick... OK, back to sports... San Francisco Giants swept the Detroit Tigers and won the World Series ...kind of a combination of solid pitching by 4 different blokes of SF and the paltry hitting of the highly advertised Detroit...alright, it was the wrong time to go into a slump... BUT ... the Giants were on their game and deserved the wins...but, a sweep?...gosh, so disappointing...and, I could have sworn I saw the ghost of Guillermo "don...

If you don't watch the 1st half, you are not going to see the best team in the land... the Oregon Ducks ...it's happened to me twice in the last 2 games... I TAPE it and by the time I get home...the game is over at the half... UO is up by 50 something and the 2nd and 3rd team lads are playing... NO OTHER program in the land does that, NONE!...here's where it gets goofy...this season the screwed up D-1 football is still using the corrupt BSBCS system ...and you can pencil in Alabama as one of the two...so...Kansas St is dang good, there is a possibility for the other...and the nation's darling, Notre Dame, is another...sidelight...go back a few weeks and watch the "no touchdown" call against Stanford...something is real smelly on that...and of course, Oregon ...
