CRAZY HORSE

So I start up a Twitter account...I have no reason why...and, voila!...I am following all these stars who are tweeting their inner most thoughts and actions...well...maybe...and I have developed some followers myself after only two tweets...seems like most of them are porno sites...ha ha...so, exactly, who an I tweeting to?...have no idea...try it for a week and then, see... OK, all you Beavs who thought that the Ducks would meet their match last night in Arizona...you are going to have to wait a bit longer...as they are a force...and you guys...will have a pretty easy match hosting the Utes, who I have seen 3 times...sort of...14 points for sure...so says me... You have to dance with who brung ya... the Yankees making the shift of players, it NEVER works...hang in there, these guys are pros, that are struggling...it's the nature of the game...when you have a good season, failing 7 out of ten times at bat...it's easy to be off...anyway, great for the Tigers...they deserv...

It'll be a very busy next few days around here... the highlight just may be... Carrie Underwood's concert on Saturday nite...it will be the 4th time we will have seen her...she is amazing and does no, catch this Britney, lip syncing... started yesterday out at Torrey Pines GC ...played the south course from the tips with some young bucks...and even though I was driving it well for me, I was usually short guy...such a loooooonnnngggg track...and they are already getting primed for the Farmer's ...no carts on the turf, lots of over seeding, mega water, and shaggy greens...and for you who watch the T on TV, I played number 18 like I was a pro...driver, 3 wood, and a wedge over that pond to the sloping green...worth the price right there... tonight we are celebrating my birthday, with a dinner over in Coronado Island ...going to take the boat taxi there...with our friends, BJ and Tom...to Il Fornaio...we are having like extraordinary weather right now...so, it's shorts...

OK, I know you are going to say, here we go again...you know, my feelings about the use of mascots and team nicknames for sports and schools...and many of the schools and teams have changed from the "traditions" of the past...the state of Oregon has actually passed a bill to ban 'em...hey hey, Roseburg, what are you going to go to?...so, I decided to look at one of the histories of a team such nicknamed... the Cleveland Indians... A Major League Baseball franchise that actually started around 1865...and went through the transition of many team names...and when the team became part of MLB in '01 was actually called the Bluebirds ...circa 1914, they had a change of ownership, which by the way, happened often...and decided to "honor" one of their old players, who played for Cleve from 1897-1899...just so happens the guy, Louis Sockalexis , was Native American...thus, the honor of an Indian was born...and exists to this day... Of course, the mascot change...

For all of my normal readers, you know my penchant for the changing of the head coach of the Bolts ...extremely predictable...and almost always outcoached by the opponent...another chapter...up 24-0 at half last eve, at home versus the Broncs ...Denver came out with changes and marched down the field and scored...SD,  obviously in protect mode, went in to a stall game and got clobbered... gave up 35 and suffered another humiliating loss ...here's the deal... Coach Norv calls the plays...and he runs the ball on 1st down 99% of the time...I call him 2nd and 9 Norv ...'cuz that's what he puts his QB Rivers in...albeit, Phil was having an off night... BUT ...the lack of tactics was so evident that even the most staunch Charger fan, wants out of this system...I am not much of an in season "fire the coach" guy... BUT ...it is the bye week and there needs to be a change... Tonight is debate number two ...and for you Repubs, you want status quo ...and the Demos wan...

The first rankings of the BCS (BSBCS) are out...and Alabama and Florida , yup, them Gators, leaped frogged the Ducks for number two...the computer rankings have Oregon 6...which is the problem...and another issue is the power of the Notre Dame stuff...you who bad mouthed me about the odious call that helped the Irish steal one versus Stanford...you don't see the big picture...no 4 team playoff this season...so, the   wave of votes must stay constant...long way to go... Oregon at ASU this Thursday...as big as it gets thus far... DO NOT TAKE THE SUN DEVILS LIGHTLY! ...they are an explosive team that could get a huge W at home... OSU entered as number 8...great spot...kind of the underdogs of the entire land...and host Utah...the Beavs just get better and better...look for a walloping here... Early on and let's just settle down... My fantasy team has had the benefit of QB Rodgers throwing 6 td's...playing my son...sorry about that, Doctor...discount double check...

It made no difference who the QB was, as the Oregon State Beavers rode their incredibly strong defense to a stomp at BYU...and get this...they WILL advance up the rankings...like number 7 probably...this is the last time I'm going to say this...I am really surprised...not anymore...they are a solid group that deserves what they are getting...maybe, just maybe, the Civil War could be for all the marbles... You want some upsets ...here you go... West Virginia took a stumble in Texas and will drop down for awhile...never saw that coming...and South Carolina ...got the L at LSU...kinda figured that one...and the Irish were very lucky in the abominable call that led them to their W.... Stanford got robbed as they scored in OT, and the refs disallowed it...something was and is fishy...Oklahoma in a tornado over Texas (bye bye) and this...Alabama (1) won easily, as did Florida (4)....but KSU (6) and Ohio St (8) survived huge scares... Beisbol ...I like the playoffs now...Detroi...
