CRAZY HORSE

The season starts anew...as the Oregon Ducks have a new head coach ...and host the Bowling Green somethings...alas, we are just happy it is upon us...ridding the Eugene Campus of the one and done bloke that WAS the guy...off he went to Florida St, and his deceptive smile is now history...the here and now...the school's rich, meteoric rise to power in the last couple of decades...has brought together Duck fans far and wide...there are a boatload of 'em down here in SoCal...I can't tell you how often people tell me 'Go Ducks' as I sport my Oregon gear, on GAME DAY! ... Oh yea, the HC's name is Mario Cristobal ...geez, Horse... Not totally sure what this team has to offer...I do know that the QB is a dandy ....hopefully, the O line is solid and protective...let's just say, that the Horse will be a watching... sporting the green and yellow, of a true fan... Some other beauts are on today, also...no bigger than the Michigan/Notre Dame one...I'm no...

Finally, we actually get to go to the races ... LIVE! ...out at Del Mar ...you see, the Horse hits the off track, a block away...for convenience...but today, Marsh's office has their party there ...a real treat for us all...in the Turf Club ...right...that means the ladies dress in well, dresses...sporting stylish hats...and the gents?...have to have sport coats and longies...and, gulp, shoes... So, yesterday, I spent some time teaching the missus how to read the Daily Racing Form ...now, she is a genius and has a plan to win some cash...have to admit, she reads it a bit differently than moi...her own style, if you will...ah yes, the Form is a compilation of past performances of each horse in each race...YOUR guide to proper betting...of course, many people buy the cheat sheets, that dudes sell as you enter the site...some, refer to the Trib, as there are 'picks' there, too... but, c'mon, you want to figure your OWN out ...which now, SHE will do... BTW, Del Mar...

Alas, the day has come for POTUS to give walking papers to yet another person in his 'inner circle' ...wait, is there such a thing with this guy?...I've mentioned him before, Don McGahn...White House Counsel ...just an odd thing, is that he won't be axed until after the mid terms...what?...this after a 30 hour interrogation of McGahn by Prosecutor Mueller... Tell me this isn't so like Watergate of the 70's ...as the heat gets closer to the acting President, the blokes surrounding him FALL, like domino pieces , perfectly set in a row...next may be the Attorney General, Jeff Sessions...then Bob Mueller. ..whatever it takes to keep Donny in the Oval Office... Just has to be a sticky situation , sitting in a room with Trump , deathly afraid to say anything that would contradict what he has bellowed out...sit there, smile, nod your head, and when asked, say 'yes, Mister President, that is a GREAT idea!' ...anything, to keep YOUR job, I suppose... Hey ya'll...a quickee, you know it...an early tee time...but, have to say something POSITIVE today... The mighty Padres won a game...WON...brought up a 'prospect', Luis Urias, plugged him into 2B...the first ball hit of the game, came his way...he made a spectacular dive...got the ball and threw the bloke out...on the way to a 2-1 win over the Mariners...I will say this...the game went FAST!, cuz the umpire had a BIG strike zone...players knew it, and stepped up and swang their bats...memo to MLB!....figure it out... Maybe, just maybe...the juggernaut of the Democrats waltzing thru the mid terms in November, may not be as easy as the Horse has predicted...or wants...yup, small sample size thus far...as yesterday's primaries in Florida and Arizona were dominated by Trump's allies and get this, Bernie's guys in blue...where are the rest of the Demo leaders?...cause for concern... Morning, kids...back at ya, as I had one of them early tee times, yesterday...as we finish up yet another month...for many, the end of summer...and the school bells will be a ringing...around here in SoCal, they started up yesterday...for most of the area... Still reading the book about LBJ and McNamara ...it is very detailed and difficult to read, I must say...however, I am now in the absurd part of the 'escalation' of the war ...so contrived and dictated by Johnson, that it infuriates me to peer at the details of it all.... regardless of your stance on it, the blueprint of the waste of mankind, is devastating ...my fear of the present US leader, too... I am sickened by the lack of response by Trump with the recent passing of Senator McCain...probably the biggest example is in the White House, as he was asked by a reporter, "do you think that John McCain was a hero?" ...Trump stared straight ahead and did his Mussolini impression...and said nothing ...what...

The news of the passing of Arizona's Senator, John McCain , was a tragic blow to our society... a SIX term Senator. ..who had seen it all...as his time was winding down, remarked that 'he had a good life' ...a victim of brain cancer, just like what one of our good friends from Oregon, succumbed to...so sad...his life was full of self proclaimed 'rocking the boat'....was a pilot in the Vietnam War ...shot down on his 23rd mission...and was harbored in the 'Hanoi Hilton' until the end of the conflict...later became a member of the Senate...was the Republican Nominee for President, battling with Barak Obama. ..failed bid, but returned to the Senate as a strong rep for the people of Arizona, and the USA...simply, a terrific man...I will never forget, in the heat of the Presidential campaign, McCain taking the microphone away from a questioner, as she was implying that Obama was not a US Citizen, 'no ma'am, you are wrong, he is a fine American' .....
