When I talk about attacks, I am talking an offense against a defense...but we are not talking taking lives...like in the Gaza Strip ...where Israel and the Palestinians are waging an "undeclared war" ...it is inevitable, unfortunately... The rocket launching is the beginning...and this is not going to stop anytime soon, I fear... The pictures of the rockets are chilling...and the defense of them, the "Iron Dome" , is an amazing piece of technology...it will take the US and others to help stop this...sad... OK, back to the less mundane and frivolous items I talk about... The line has DROPPED to 20 1/2 for the Duck / Stanford game...that's about 12 more points than I would put on the game...take the points and head to Vegas , baby... Twinkies are being shelved...outside of the 12 year endurance already in our bodies, they are being shut down...not sure how I feel about this... The early stats on the Heat ...they are one of the worst defending teams ...

There use to be a team in the NBA out in the Sports Arena ...that perennially floundered about...with accusations of being the worst owned and managed team in the league...yup, the San Diego Clippers ...well, the owners pulled the plug on SD , and moved the team up north...to the same building that houses the Lakers ...Staples Center...what?..and they continued their jokish existence...until...they managed to trade for Chris Paul ...they had already drafted this jumping jack Griffin kid...who got hurt in the last pre-season game...and had to sit out a full year...long story short....they have pieced together a young, energetic team...that just happens to be better than the Lake Show ...deeper and way more fun to watch...really?...and last night they came of age...as they throttled the Heat ...in every way possible...and it was the depth that was apparent...and...they have gotten that mystical "confidence" ...I'm telling you RIGHT NOW , the Clips are in it for the long...

Hey kids, good morning from near paradise ...I mean Maui is that, but this place is dang close...in a couple of hours I'm going to be on the course...it'll be 75* or so...and yet, we've had a bit of a chillster...like, it's been down to 57* or so at night...totally unacceptable...it's the facts mam...only the facts... Our fav watering hole, Las Hadas , the owner there is a former Duck...so he knows all the ins and outs of what's going on...and we are both questioning the 21 1/2 point spread against the Stanford whatevers...last night was Taco Tuesday...the biggest $2 tacos you will ever see and consume... DWTS got rid of Kirstie, I mean c'mon, not even close to the rest of the crew...and Gilles, too...tuff call there...he is dang good...but...all the rest are so...good TV... You been following the Miami Marlins ?....complete deployment of most of their good blokes to teams elsewhere...can you say, fire sale!...just after opening up a brand new stad...

Pro football is a brutal sport ...very big human beings pounding on each other...it is the modern day gladiator sport...no more evident than this past weekend...where 4 QB's went down with concussions...and two of the hits were of the "fines deserved" type...thing is, is that enough?... I believe that there should also be a 6 game suspension tagged for the severe hits...and escalates as repeated violations occur...yet... the general population absolutely loves the sport...as long as it happens to someone else...and on to the Bolts ... Norvy hit the nervy button after the latest debacle in Tampa...mores signs of the demise of the team...er, his coaching tenure...anyway, it's time to let his show go, and bring in another bloke and try up his stuff...OK, I've hit this button way too often... NCAA football... Ducks are winning despite the obliteration of their defensive line...can this hold up when they go against the Stanford whatevers and the Beavs in succ...

Crazy Horze has your insights...pay attention, kids... the Ducks at Cal is always a weird one...2 years ago, in their quest for numero uno, they escaped like 15-13, er, something like that...this time, and the timing...fresh off a huge win at USC, natural downer coming up, key defensive linemen out... RB Barner goes down, S Jackson goes down, QB Mariota goes down...Cal suddenly finds life and is within a score...and driving...and then POOF! ...their play calling goes crazy... UO couldn't come close to stopping the run...and they start to pass...the D gets a reprieve...and more importantly, Mariota and Barner came back on the field... Mariota from that time on was simply marvelous...threw a bunch of TD's...and the Ducks cruised to a 59-17 stomp...I mean, in a matter of minutes, it went from a 7 to a 28 point lead... throw in the Alabama loss to Texas A & M...a team that also uses the hurry up O...and whose freshman QB was also tagged to come to Eugene...
