Got to admit, I'm a sucker for harmony...and the hottest group going in the country world is Lady Antebellum ...saw them in concert last eve in Chula Vista and they were great...one of the opening acts for Tim McGraw , who also sounded right on ...is that a term anymore?.. Hillary Scott has such a cool voice that blends so well with whatever the other guys names are...we sat behind some definite country dudes that had their share of beer...oh well, there were only 20,000 of us listening in... And this story out of Portland ...there is this cop , walking his beat in the downtown area...having a cup of joe ...chatting with a customer, who was singing the praise of the uniformed ones....the owner of this vegan restaurant walks up to him...and asks him TO LEAVE ... the Red and Black Cafe ...seems that he would hurt the image of the business, many who are against them ...he continues that they are picking on many of his patrons out in the real world... good luck , when he needs th...

NBA ...playoffs... game number 1 goes to the Lakers ...as you know, I say LA in 6...and I see nothing to change my mind.... Kobe is running free... Sheed got a T and was a thug... Gasol dominated inside... Rondo out of control...however, it's supposed to last long so the TV people can make $...so things will change...I'm not saying...no... Van Der Sloot ...you know you are innocent until proven guilty...but, my oh my, this is a sad, peculiar guy...and I don't think he is in a country that his dad can bail him out of...you know this story only gets bigger... Galarraga ...the Tiger's hurler that got robbed of a perfect game by a blown call...the ump moved to calling balls and strikes for the next game...Galarraga took the line up card out prior to the game...moving moment...replay is the solution and too easy to implement...but will the ridiculous czar of MLB make the change?  By the way, GM, yup, that GM, presented AG with a brand new corvette for his feat... Mired in a deep slump , for him... Adrian Gonzalez ... tried to and was successful, in winning the final game against the Mets ...with a grand salammy in the 11th!  He had a double in the 9th, with the winning run being nailed at the plate...they call it a walk off ...really, the Mets were very fortunate to be that close as the Pads left guys on base over and over and over...and continue with the best record in the NL....and nobody is talking about it...and nobody from SD is showing up at the games...the pitching, led by Clayton Richard , and the pen were marvelous... Speaking of pitching...the Tiger's Armando Galarraga ...had a perfect game going into the 9th...yup, another one this season...and got to one out of accomplishing the feat...grounder to the 1B, who tosses the ball to AG for the putout...out!...oops, the ump calls the runner safe!!!   Replays show that he was out...and thus, lost his place in baseball history. ..the ump sees the replay and met with AG lat...

Egads ...So there is a truth that if a player makes an error in MLB, it always leads to a run or more scored ...when an umpire blows a call, it is a certainty...happened last night as the 1st base ump blew an out call , and promptly, the next Met hit a dinger...and put the game out of reach...still, the thought lingers, can the Padres beat a quality pitcher?  Today another Q, in Johan Santana ...we're there and we'll see...if a V, another series win... OMG ...the rock steady duo of Al and Tipper ...yup, the Gores ...are separating...my guess it got too green for Tipper around the casa...and by the way, they just bought an 8.9 million dollar one up the coast... Why, you betcha...I got me one of them new fangled ipads ...unbelievable!!!  Without a doubt, the coolest thing that has come out to date...books, mags, email, ...the graphics and HD are well,  incomparable...it syncs to my Macbook and I spent a good portion of the day playing with it...go down to the Apple...

It is on ...and it has been on ever since 9/11...and every once in a while a drone will get one of the world's villains...yup, the leaders of the Al Qaeda ...the group that has no country , no allegiance with anyone, no guts to stand up to anyone... the scum of the earth ...you know I'm the one that says that their supreme leader, Bin Laden , has already been blown to smithereens ...he would have shown his filthy, ugly head by now, if he was still breathing...sure, the HUNT is still on...but he's mangled in the western Afghanistan mountains...it was reported the number 3 guy was killed... no place to hide, no place to run ...except in holes of the earth... Holy moly!   Catch your breath...the 1st place Padres put up 18 runs on the board...not in a week, but in ONE game...that started off the series with the Mets...OK, everyone is going to say, "save some of those runs" for the rest of the series...doesn't go that way...in fact, the next 3 games are ...

Of course, the link between patriotism and giving thanks is the highest on this special day... Memorial Day ...for those who have given their lives for the survival of this country is this one...for my short life, the World War 2, the Korean, the Viet Nam, the middle east , these wars were the most significant...my problems with the Viet Nam war had nothing to do with the soldiers...and now, with the ? of the Iraq war, it has nothing to do with the soldiers...they are just doing their job...and, I think real well ... Celebrations ...small towns do parades, families visit grave sites, DC shoots guns, the flag is waving, picnics....hot dogs, hamburgers, Julian apple pies ...me? It's horse racing ...now, I'm not sure of the reason...but it just seems so American...the breeding, the jockeys, the owners...all seem so Native to me...back when, there was this Native American jockey that we followed 'cuz he was from Warm Springs...a reservation in Central Oregon...that my uncle ...

Do you recognize this lady ?  It is the prez of a corp that you all know and maybe, just maybe, have used in some capacity...of EBAY ... Meg Whitman ...and she is running for guv of the great state of California...yup, in hopes of succeeding Arnold ...and, she is spending a whopping amount of moolah in her campaign...and we are talking just for the republican part of it...the Trib reports at, get this, $68 million!!!!   Are you kidding me?  How much do you get for being the guv, maybe $200 grand a year?  What's the catch here?  Something's fishy , and I don't know what it is, yet...
