Aloha

I know, somebody has to be here.  Must have to be us...Kaanapali....The most beautiful place on earth.  We have been doing the touristy thing.  Swimming, eating, drinking, shopping...found 3 cd's for $5 each...Bobby Vinton, Dean Martin, and Barry Manlow... Some big college games today...Texas A&M versus Bama, the Ducks and the Vols... Cris and Leila come in today...thus the fam will be here... Got a book for my iPad...Unbroken...had no idea that it is what it is...totally gruesome account of the bomber teams of the Second World War...had no idea the B24's were so terrible...called the flying coffins....doubt if I can finish it...really.... The Pads beat Atlanta?...what?  Another baby step...the stations here, play the Angels and the Bums...I miss my SD telecast... Ate at Kimo's for lunch...Marsh had opah and I had the mixed plate...eegads, the best food...really...have yet to drink a Lava Flow... Trying hard to adjust to this time zone...am sure I will...

1st Class

If you get lucky...you, too, can get a 1st class upgrade ...and WOW!...we did...nothing like it...in our trip to Maui...yessur... What has happened to the Pads , you ask?...suddenly playing well...WELL, they have developed some nice young arms...starters, outside of the oldster, Eric Stults, who basically carried the team through the bad times...and the bats have come alive...maybe, just maybe, we can finish above the Giants and the Rockies...baby steps...then do the right thing...and bring in a power hitter or two...in the off season...yet, SD are dogs today...won 6 of the last 7...and dogs...no respect... The line ...this is the day that I inspect the betting lines...some that make me go, hmmm.... Stanford over Army by 29...take the points and Cadets... Nebraska by 4 1/2 over UCLA...what am I missing here?...the Bruins and the points... Oregon by 27 1/2 over Tennessee...why the 1/2 point?...odd.... Texas over Ol Miss...what?...there is chaos in Dallas... USC over BC by 14......

Grandiose

Is there such a word?...what an awesome start for the Eagles and Chip Kelly! ...as they used his same style that he patterned at the U of O...and it was exciting...and fun to watch...have to admit, I got nervous just like I do when I cheer for the Ducks...as the Washington crowd was stunned... Not that they didn't get going later on, as the Skins made it way interesting...I thought that Philly went to their prevent game way too soon...surprised me, as Chip didn't do that at Oregon...he was guarded, i suppose....there are a whole lot of naysayers out there.... In the 2nd game of the night.. .the Bolts were way ahead, 28-7...and fell apart...let's be honest, SD is not a good team...and their QB Rivers, is way past his prime...as witnessed to his debacle in the 4th Q...BUT...just as brutal, was the lack of defense that the Chargers have...it's what I saw in preseason...and, well, it will be a very long one...4 or 5 wins...at best...this night it was the Texan's ...

Monday Morning

Well, hey kids...recooping from a din din...and feel pretty, pretty good...stopped the wine early on...good  lord, I am getting so smart in my olden age...we had a private chef do the meal...way cool...for the 1st time in a while, I didn't have to cook...anyway... Have you got the 10th circled on your day planner?...wait, it's now your phone calendar...as Apple is unleashing on the world...it's new iPhone....you have to get it....right?...5s....there will be a run on 'em...somehow, that company has the market figured out...and supposedly...their camera is better...and there is some form of finger printing to secure the phone...I just hope they improve the daily life of the battery...is that too much to ask?... The Syria situation...don't think that Congress is going to vote FOR the strike...you can thank the W regime for the hesitation...BUT...if that leader, doesn't quit antagonizing the US, he just may get the strikes anyway...the latest?...Sec of St Kerry...

Imbedded

Image
So get this...I imbedded myself in my lazy boy lounger and watched FOOTBALL all day...of course, I got up for essentials...and did get out and do the chores...I did sneak out and get my hairs cut...man, still have some blonde tips...but, for the most part, got to see a whole lot of collegiate ball... I have this thing about old school and fast break football...those coaches who wallow in the older and olden style, are getting passed by the innovative blokes...like lightning fast...as the beauty of this game, is how you can and will play it...outside of the most difficult part of all, recruiting...is to figure the best way to get a win...er, to keep your job...which may be the same thing...some places have rich traditions of filling up the massive stadiums with alumni...and a smaller part for it's students...so...wooah....you better get yourself a W...and now... One of the harder things to do, is follow a very successful regime...and go from fast break to old school....eegads...
