Oh my...what could or should have been...these San Diego Padres ...which increasingly seem to be exactly like all of the other Buddy Black managed teams...an effort in futility...underperforming groups of blokes...who find ways of not scoring...and have more excuses of why they can't do the most fundamental thing of all of baseball...from Little League all the way up to MLB...BUNT!...the pitching staff has yet to convert one...count 'em NONE! ...not one successful bunt!!!...and this time around, a new dilemma...the pitching is not good...there's an article in the LA Times, asking what we all ask..."What's Wrong With The Padres?...and rather than beat around the bush, the author throws out stats...unlike what the Trib does...last in OF defense...sporadic starters for P...the top 3 on the staff lead different negative marks...ie, HR's given up, walks, and losses...the scenario is not a cheery one... Excuses?...well now...the record of the team versus the divi...

Morning, kids ...it's a very fast month, wouldn't you say?...for some reason, I have been following baseball more than I have in the last 5 years or so...maybe due to the acquisitions of the new Pad's GM...AJ Preller ...as he has created a new buzz around here... Not that we are knocking down any walls...we have a better offensive lineup...still, not the same level as the upper tier of teams ...like the Bums...I digress...we have some gaps yet to fill to become the best in our division... 2B and SS are musts ...we are severely down in those spots... The hot rumor is that we are shopping around for a SS. ..names?...Tulowitski...Andrus...and some rookie dude out of the Cubbies farm, Baez...to get one of them, we'd have to part with a quality bloke...and one of our cherished AAA kids...and it is said, that the price tag to keep the acquired one, would be very high... 2B? ...no mention to this spot...earlier I kept hearing the Phillie's vet, Utley...and I was on ...

There are just a few teams in the MLB that have the type of nationwide following than the Chicago Cubs have...and they are in town for a 3 spot...you'd think that Petco would be filled with a gaggle of C caps...not so...interesting...maybe the masses have fallen off?...I dunno... Let's talk about 'em...they are a team of the future...with a very young infield...all of the blokes are 25 or under...and have 2 of the premier hitting stars...with the 1B Rizzo ( our trade) and 3B Bryant (USD) in tow...and some better than average pitchers...well, hang on to your Cubbie paraphernalia...your time is coming...maybe not this season, but very soon, I tell ya... The Pads got them last eve...in a 4-3 nail biter...took advantage of 3 errors to help set the table for our scores...oh yea...Chi has a very progressive manager, too...am I jealous of the visitor?...you bet I am...but we have what we have...and there is enough here to get to the playoffs...if...we do what we did las...

This is the name for the group that had a sole job of trying to come up with a viable solution for keeping the NFL Chargers in San Diego...rendering a new stadium for the team...there have been many sites talked about in the last 5 or so years...ie, Chula Vista, Escondido, Downtown, and the present site, out at Mission Vally...to name the primary ones...so... Involved in the quickness of the final decision, was the fact that the city of Carson...part of the mega-city Los Angeles...has got a spot all picked put for the MAJOR OPTION for the Bolts...and is the carrot that is dangling with the team... So...the owner of the team, threw out a curve ball yesterday...as he passed on the majority of the operations of the Chargers to his two 30 something old sons...and, in reality...created a NEW scenario for the team...to me, a glimpse of the future...new direction of ownership and new direction of calling a place "home"... I have said for some time that the move is a done dea...

Good morning kids...it was a great weekend with my boy at the Member-Guest T out at Sycuan ...we didn't win it...but were in the 2nd group heading into Sunday...out of about 40 or so, maybe more...kind of prestigious I'd say...have to admit, not too sure as to the format, or to the winnings...they had changed it since I played in it 2 years ago...oh well, it was great to have shared the event with Cris...and to be in the hunt was fun...and surprising... BTW...each of the two rounds we played with two different kids who hit the ball over 300 yards...no kidding...I had trouble following the ball in the air, they hit it so high and far...HUGE advantage I'd say... As expected, the Clip Joint lost their series to the Rockets...in Texas...after the monumental collapse in game 6 in LA...and this is a truth...for all the excitement that Griffin brings to the game...in crunch time, he is a big negative...there are holes in the system for the Clippers...Houston moves on to fac...
