I'm a betting that there were a gaggle of tele sets turned on to the LaLa Lakers at Portland last eve in the opener for both in the NBA...of course, due to the official beginning of the LeBron era in the purple and gold...not to be dismayed, the show was good...PDX won...yet, James was just fine...here is my take... The Lake Show is kind of fun...speed is the key for them...BUT... they are woefully weak in the middle...and even moreso in their 2nd team ...which will be an achilles heal, if they do not trade for some proven dudes...they are a work in process, often going where they don't find each other...it's a long season, kids...my grade for game number one?... Sometimes when I write, I have no idea how it pops into me head...the items or the thoughts, or music...it just does... must have heard it somewhere...a song...that keeps a ringing...maybe you have heard it before...of course, you have to be from my generation...I don't think they even play it on XM's 50's Station... Hey all, I'm back for awhile...and should have a regular post coming at ya...did you miss me?...of course, you did...I must say that the trip up to the Pacific Northwest was simply awesome...70+ degree days, not a lick of the wet stuff...we even got the trip to the Oregon Coast in the short time we were there...and get this, it was 71* and beautiful...go figure... The Duck game ...the green and yellow ( and black and silver?) are a much different team now... the new staff has prioritized the lines ...big, strong, and powerful...gone, is the finesse of the past 3 coaching staffs...couple that with a simply terrific QB...who, by the way, did not have one of his best games, but still found a way to come up with BIG plays...a mark of a great one... the matchup with the Dawgs ...after two years of being drubbed by them...giving up 72 and 38 points...turned out to be 2 equal squads ...really...missed FG's by each team in the 2nd half, led to an overtime...where UO had a perfec...
