Sayonara

Sayonara Pads. Last week I said TG for the Nationals. This week the Pirates are saying TG for the Padres. Bottom of the 8th, bases loaded for the Pads, Kooz up with 2 outs, Kooz strikes out feebly. He is now o-fer 17 in his last 5 games. Then in the top of the 9th, 2 outs, runners on 1st and 2nd, pop up to right, Giles drifts to his right 2 steps, one hands the can of corn, and DROPS IT! End of game...end of season. CAN the management, Kooz, Hoffman, Greene....get 'er done! SDS plays a totally inept Idaho team today. Should be a rout for the Aztecs. Should be. Congrats to my buddy Rick Ward for his OT win over another of my buddies, Rob Hill, back in the Salem High FB circuit.

Beavs!

OMG the biggest upset since Appy St. took Michigan last year! And the Beavs whupped 'em good. The Pads farm team beat the Dodgers farm team last night after the LA group clinched the division. Kooz was o-fer again. Rumor is the coaching staff get their walking papers on Monday. Follow the line on the Chargers game. Up to 8 today. The debate is tonight in Mississippi. This is the best competition of the weekend.

Pads Change

OK the time has finally come to exit the Pads. I mean the management. It should be from the top down. Towers, Fuson, Black, et.all... A total new look is needed. Either move the outfield fences in or get speedy players to fill up the squad. And let's get serious, being able to properly replace pitchers in a ball game has to be another top priority for the skipper. Get 'er done! The Chargers have a road trip to Oakland coming up. Watch the line on this closely. Right now it is about 7. Just a hunch. In the Trib today there is an article about the emergence of the Mountain West. Love it. Now if SDS can get in that picture, too.

Bolts prevail

I guaranteed a whupping of the Jets. Enough said. As we were cruising 5th last night we saw Kooz again. He must live real close by. If he would just shorten his swing with 2 strikes on him... Wally World just resigned as the hitting coach for the Pads. I think he may be getting a bum rap as there is a thought that he couldn't bring around Khalil, Bard, Barrett, Iguchi, and Edmonds. Give me a break. It's time for those boys to move on. Pads visit the Dodgers...a week to go for this season and it has flown by. I like Rivers a lot.

Ryder Win!

Without a doubt the biggest USA win this year. Sandwiched by the AKim and Campbell's wins, the rest of the pack got the job done against the highly favored Europeans. Outside of the blips by Leonard and Mickelson, the USA crew got great performances by Mahan, Furyk, and Perry. Great stuff to paraphrase JMiller. NFL. Did I not tell you? Viks over the Panthers. 20-10. Very curious. What does Vegas know? Miami over NE? Go figure. Pads swept the Nationals. TG for the Nationals. Chargers big tonight over the Jets.

Sunday Cup

The Ryder may come down to the last match of Chad Campbell and Padraig. Ouch! This is the biggest mismatch out there. We have to come up with 5 1/2 points somewhere. Here is my guess: Mahan, Leonard, Boo, JB, Furyk are our best shots. If Stricker can get Poulter we will win. By the way, Lefty looked like you or I on the 18th yesterday. NFL. I am so curious about the Panther/Viking game as the Viks are Vegas picks. They are starting a new qb and have been awful. On the other hand the Panthers have been solid. ??? The Pads have found the perfect patsy, the Nationals. Just when you think we may be the worst, we ran into the real bad team of the MLB.
