The Repubs are going at it tonite...and alas, the FOX News and Donald Trump brouhaha has not gone away...he will NOT be in attendance...in fact, is holding a town hall meeting in lieu...hmmm...is this a smart or dumb move?...I dunno...seems like whatever he does, it works out...somehow...BTW, I won't watch the debate as is...maybe, it's smart...

Heading on north to see the kids...and, play in an alumni T...which is always so much fun...the weather is sketchy for Sunday...crossing my fingers...and the Beach Boys are out!...playing a small venue...the tix prices are over $200 a pop...fuggit about it...so I'm taking a DVD of them, playing live in 1980...that's the way we'll see 'em...open up a bottle of the bubbly, munch on some popcorn...and see them all...I repeat, them all!...while Dennis and Carl were still alive...in concert...in England...breaking...there may be tix, after all...

GMA reports this...that it's a virtual tie between Hilz and Bernie heading into next weeks' Iowa Caucus...listen to me very carefully...the people want him...the DNC does not...and...the vote will be extremely indicative of where this race is going to go...hang on to your toupees, kids...it will be a wild ride...

Where Do I Start?

Morning ya"ll...how YOU doing?...kind of a believe it or not, this day past...and it's one of them, that you can't make this stuff up...I have to start with the election biz...move on to the sporting life...well, now, just cruise the unbelievable events of the time...geez...

This is a first...a GOP Candy Man, who won't show up for the last debate prior to the first set of states who are voting...by his own volition...(a word?)...of course, it is the Donald...with such a commanding lead...the verbal battle is hosted by FOX and their gal moderator, Megyn Kelly...Trump doesn't want to go into battle with her...in lieu of the other candy men...well now...dig a bit deeper...the CEO of FOX, is Roger Ailes...and the station's originator, Rupert Murdoch...who reportedly "hates Donald Trump!"...this guy, the Donald, is cagier than you or I think...

One more thought...when the questioner is on plane with the Candy Men and Candy Women, then there is a huge problem...I'm talking the peops running for the Prez of the USA...time to reshuffle the cards, FOX...

Oregon making the national news...again...this time with the dudes who were taking over a building in the far east...ha ha...of the state...met their match yesterday...as the Feds took them down...arrested the leader and killed one of the entourage...right?...is it just me, or is the use of firearms a normal day occurrence anymore?...like everywhere?...you gun toting people seem to be everywhere...more shoot outs than I can ever remember...

High drama over at the Naval Hospital in Balboa Park...for you not knowing...this is the biggest park anywhere...here in SD...where there is a world famous Zoo, two golf courses, many museums, miles and miles of walkways and green grass, dog park, and a couple of hospitals...enormous...somebody called in that there was shootings going on...and the swat teams appeared...turned out to be a false alarm...I say great...a training day for sure...and thankful nothing evil had happened...

There are times, that I just shake my head...wonder why someone would do such a thing...like when I watch the Clip Show...Blake Griffin...easily one of the best 10 players in the NBA...quite the specimen...thunderous dunks...and yet, will make goofy moves...careless things...anyway...he has been injured...hammy I think...about ready to return to the court...not so fast my friends...he gets into a tussle with the Clipper equipment manager at a restaurant..."they take it outside"...and Griffin punches the bloke out....you heard me right...and broke a bone in his hand...out for another 2 months...the guy is about 2/3rds the size of Blake...oh my...more to come...like from the league...

Just a tidbit...but you KNOW how I feel about the Cleveland Cavs GM...and the rumors are leaking out...from unnamed sources (Miami Heat, ha ha) that the firing of David Blatt was orchestrated by the one and only, King LeBron James...don't mess with the king...

The Farmer's Ins Open is starting today out at Torrey...the line is that  Jason Day will back up last year's OT win...hmmm, the word is that he has the flu bug...maybe, look elsewhere...you have to hit it LONG here...way long...

You remember "deflate gate?"...Tom Brady and the Pats...whatever happened to this?...last season...and he was given a 4 game suspension that was thrown out of court...just disappeared...oh my...the NFL...

Johnny Carson had a show on last eve...well, I said that wrong...it was from February of 1974...I can't tell you how much back in time you go, watching these...it is so fun and interesting...

Let's start with the Golden St Warriors as they hosted the other "super"the San Antonio Spurs...where the Texas team was riding a 13 game winning streak...was...and then they landed...in Alameda...holy moly...when GS is on...there is nobody, nowhere, no how that can match 'em...and that be true last night...oh my...listen kids, if you haven't seen them play, it is your duty to do so...even if you are not a hoop junkie, you'll like them...they are fast, play good D, and they can shoot the 3 ball like nobody else...and are fun to watch...and they are having fun...the starters were through after 3 quarters...and the Warriors waltzed by, by (gulp) 30!...

For all the notoriety that the Spur's HC Pop gets...he was like most all the other blokes...on his hands...and was getting clobbered...it's a new style that GS possesses...BTW, recall what I have said in the past about LaMarcus Aldridge?...the "star' that bolted from our beloved PDX to this team last summer...he was soft and way over-rated...same dude playing even worse for Pop...how much he making?...

Forbes Mag listed their annual best colleges for the year, 2015...I connect this, as that's where Pop started coaching...at the number 1 spot...none other than Pomona College...where my son graduated from...very demanding school, for sure...beat out the likes of Yale, Dartmouth, and Stanford...well, all of 'em...very proud of my boy...

The Donald is increasing his lead on the rest of the Repub field...now at 40%, according to CNN...hmmm...let's see how this plays out in actual, real voters...who must step up to the paper and solidify the black mark next to his name, Trump...a week a way for the counting to be 'cast in stone"...and more from some of your newspaper editors...OMG...in Boston...one foo has named Christie and another named Kasich...hey you protesters, get after those "supremacists"...that's needed more than any OSCAR thinger...you want your white based beliefs out there...there they are...

One of the better games of the season...as the Broncos upset the Pats...20-18...as Tom Terrific, hurried the 2 point XP, to tie the game...just a few seconds left...and it was picked off...and the game was all Denver's...defense wins games...big games...and the Broncos had the better one...much better...it'll take Brady a good month to recoup from the shellacking he took...let's be honest, he was running for his football life most of the matchup...and Peyton Manning was just good enough...to guide the home team to the W...I kept wondering, how many chances will Denver give them to tie?...BTW, TT is now 2-7 at Denver...hmmm...

Slaughter on 5th Avenue...really, I have no clue as to where Carolina's stadium is located...but...the Panthers were easily the better of the two...and whupped, badly...easily...your Arizona Cardinals...the Panthers have the best D in all of the NFL...and they showed up...and chased and forced the worst of the final 4 QB's, Carson Palmer, into mega amount of mistakes...like 5 or 6 interceptions...and...Carolina has an offensive machine...no better leader in Cam Newton...who not only throws it well, but runs like a RB...at the top of his game, for sure...a romp...

So, there you go...the 2 Sooper Bowl participants...both great defensive teams...and like most of the regular season, Carolina will be the early fav...continually check the betting line out of Vegas...them dudes always know something we don't...

Speaking of Kelly and FOX...they had this special on Benghazi...surprise surprise surprise...and had 3 of the actual commandos...that is what you call them, right?...who were the advisors to the new movie out on the topic..."13 hours"...they were not very complimentary to the administration and Hilz, then the Sec of St...duh...

We did take that little trip over to Coronado Island...just a different world...Marsh drove the bridge...BTW, I am getting better crossing...hmmm...just takes me time...found a new book at the little book store...their thing, is to have descriptions of the books, under them...hit the beach...no better one in SoCal....so clean...finished off with lunch at a new fish restaurant...way cool...and got back in time to see the 2nd half of the NE/Denv game...or, should that be Denv/NE game?...

Finally, the East is digging out of the snow...I just love watching it...and glad, I am NOT THERE!...ha ha...hey, YOU, have a great week...

Pummeled

These weather people were right on...the East got pummeled...clobbered...hammered...blitzed...with the white stuff...in truth, the blizzard of maybe...all time...record depths of snow...and virtually closed down many of the cities...and get this...the forecasters are saying there is more to come...man, it's so beautiful to watch...kind of got the itch to go there...hey now, it's something I won't scratch...

The NFL doozies for today...geez, I kind of missed the games for a Saturday...wish they would have had one yesterday and one today...however, here I go...like most everyone else, I have the Pats over the Broncos...I've seen this script too many times before...Bill Belicheck is a master at his craft...and he has the best QB in the sport...and doesn't need the super D to stop Denver...and...the Panthers continue on against your Cards...not sure why there is such a local strong following for Arizona...but if somebody beats  that Carolina D, then they should win it all...nope...and the two best teams will fight it out for the Super Bowl...

The Des Moines newspaper endorsed Hilz and Rubio for Prez...wait...they have a print?...and people actually buy it?...I am not...let me repeat...I am NOT a fan of newspaper editors...just one bloke or blokette blurts out their respective opinion...let's be real...talk about lack of diversity...there are less than 10% of all upper positions in the printed daily field that are women...much less for the actual editor...and...most are white men, that went to private colleges...and...looking at the racially side of things...less than 15% are black, Native, or others...any others...so, you can see why I don't care much for whatever they print...it is a network that really needs change...did you say revolution?...stop it Horse...

My background is highlighted by the one and only...well, there are other versions...but the better of the others, the Beach Boys...who are performing in Santa Barbara next weekend...where I am to be...rumor has it that Cris and Leila have got me tix...like I am a groupie...sad, huh...here's something for ya...there is a DVD out of them performing in England in 1980...when all the guys were still living...it is a must see...Carl's version of "God Only Knows" is haunting...

I keep scouring the book shelves for another read...two of my buddies recommend Native ones...one about the Comanches and one about Red Cloud...each said they were great reads...off we will go to Barnes & Noble and I'll find another...maybe over to Coronado Isl at that little book shop...nice little excursion....a whole different world just across the bay....

If you haven't heeded my word on the taping of the old Tonight Show...with Johnny Carson, you are missing out...we do every night...it is part of history...trust me on this...you will love it...

Hey, my headline yesterday was the firing of the Cleve Cav coach...David Blatt...many of the other NBA Head Coaches are calling the league out for it...really, it's just the GM bloke in Cleveland...he did the same thing to Mike Brown a few years back...a dude who has no clue...makes good $ and likes to show the hoops world that he is a big man...POS!...and you KNOW what I mean, there...how did the NEW CAVS do last night?...got the arses handed to them, AT HOME, versus the Bulls...ha ha...and the locals treated 'em with boos...and that's not celebratory booze...

The Blazers got the joy of hosting the Lake Show and the final visit of Kobe...PDX breezed...and Kobe had yet another off night...but...the Portland crowd showered him with adoration...well, most of them did...I did not know the record of LA in the PNW...like 6 wins and 25 losses...wowser, PDX had their number, even when Kobe was Kobe...

Me golf...not all bad...89...putted well...you see, I am using my old Nike stick...and it has a great feel to it...sure, I was rusty...but more tired than anything else...get this...the club got brand new golf cars...but...they did not pay for the GPS on the screens...worthless...what lame brain idiot was behind this?...

Game time?...noon for the Pats at Denver, and 3:40 for the Cards at Carolina...oops, there it is...my game plan...
