Da...what?...us civilized folk, say duh...or the...or anything but da...there are a few people with roots out of Chicago that are embracing the MLB Playoffs...as Da Cubs are in it...there you go...maybe a bit faster than a lot of the scribes thought...thinking it would take a year to gel...er, that's what the local SD Brass has been telling us about the Pads...give them time... I don't give a tinker about who wins or loses these games...well...I do hope the Bums lose...so I lied...but the rest of it...don't care...do I watch?...a little...and loved the result of the 1st game with LA and NY...like the Mets...shweet.... Prez Cup ...goes into the final day of singles...with the US holding a precarious one point lead...very great drama ahead...AND....like I said yesterday, our bottom end is truly the bottom end...and will get pummeled by the other side...which will make for a donny brook...so says me... Joe Nichols ...he was a honky tonk load of fun...and had the plac...

Hey now!... it's the weekend ...and I am ready to give you my inner thoughts.... shhh, it's just between you and me... You know this dude?...just could be the new Speaker of the House ...you OK with this?... Paul Ryan ...a former runner for Prez back 4 years ago...I think... 25 hour whirlwind trip to Santa Barbara ...half of it spent on the Amtrak...business class...well worth the $, to let them do the driving...and get to see the kids...and the one and only Don Henley...who was good...sang most of his new CD...and his 80's and 90's hits...yet, no Eagle songs...must be a contractual thinger...it's like seeing Paul McCartney and him wailing no Beatles songs...I'm just saying... Ho hum...that's the scary part...as there was another school shooting ...this time in Arizona...what has the country to do?...the ultra right, which by the way, is Arizona, has to be up in arms...bad metaphor...there you go again, "it's not the guns that kill the peopl...

And if I mention that name, I'm thinking you are thinking that I am thinking of them Philly Eagles...already mired in a horrific start to the NFL season...and the embattled and once proud coach of the Ducks...the feller that started the fast break type of O in Eugene, Chip Kelly ...who right now is being targeted as the next guy to get canned...the Dolphins beat Philly to the 1st firing... No!...I'm talking the other legendary ones...the Eagles...like the group...and one of them guys, the drummer dude... Don Henley ...is performing in Santa Barbara...the kids asked me to join 'em and I startled them and accepted...so off I go via Amtrak...whirlwind 24 hr trip...much to the dismay of Sammi and Marsh... Just when I was playing taps to my golf game , I go out and have a decent round...for every bad shot I hit, I followed with a sweet one...chipped good and putted well...go figure that silly sport...83... MLB plays 162 games...and then manufactured a play in type of wil...

It's been awhile since  I have posted on a Monday, right?...been a busy dude , I tell ya...it really is one of my fav days to blog...as I can summarize what hit the past weekend...and give my take on it all....here goes... You know what a "pick play" is in football?...brought about lately in the game...mostly cuz of many teams putting 3 wideouts on the same side...and one of them, sets like a screen on the defender, just like in hoops...bumps the guy off...and the receiver runs free....easy pickings...and voila!...completed pass...well now...it's been in football forever...but seemingly now used much more often....as the refs call it but like 5% of the time for a violation... In the Bolts / Brown game...Cleveland scored a TD in the last 2 minutes...down by 2...of course, went for the 2 point conversion in lieu of the one...ran a blatant pick play...got away with it (duh)...scored the 2 and tied the game up...only, to lose the game at the buzzer...to a SD FG....

What a nice little surprise last eve... the Ducks found enough D at halftime...and dominated the line of scrimmage...what?...the Ducks?...against the Buffs, yes...and pounded the ball...in lieu of throwing it as it's b and b...got the W...I did NOT see that coming... The game took an hour plus to start... lightning delay ...and finished with an alert to the same...Boulder can be electric...UO did some things that are some of my no-nos...they decided to rotate QB's...odd timing...as they would do so, even if the bloke engineered a TD drive...with the game in hand...went for a 4th down at midfield...didn't get it...and led to a Colorado easy score.... Oh well...it's a victory kids...Horse did watch a bunch of other games...all back east...and the weather....lots of rain and wind...were big factors in the outcomes...losses and near ones...led to a bizarre day ...these guys took their lumps...ND, UCLA, Mississippi, Georgia, Ohio St...the list goes on...the top 4 for ...
