The Pads/Bums...figure this to be a Bristol Stomp...er, 60's hit...as LA is highly favored...especially after sweeping the Giants and creating a huge 6 1/2 game lead...but...the Bums started our old throwaway, temperamental...er, mental...Matt Latos...who we hit hard and often...and of course, I dozed...as we were bringing in Odie...why he is still in the bigs is beyond me...I awoke to a 3 run deficit...and yet...we came back and beat their relievers...go figure...

As Crazy Horse boasted...the Fed Judge threw out the suspension of Tom Brady...so now...why don't many of the players take their protests to court?...if any doubt...or quality of proof...this, my good friends, is just the tip of the iceberg...melting as fast as reality...in the northern parts of the Earth...who says there is global warming?...

The wonderful Kentucky clerk...who denied on her own to issue marry certificates to same sex peops...got arrested...oh my...and then this out of Salem, Oregon...a judge there said he would not marry them "types" in his court room...pathetic...or worse...

This is the final weekend for the races out at Del Mar...wow, that was fast...and I figure on getting out on Sunday...I do love the thrill of it all...and this has been a good meet for me...$$$...

The Pledge

"Running Scared"...one of the best all time songs...by Roy Orbison...well now...the words have different meaning here in the GOP world...as the Chair of the Group wants the Donald to sign THE PLEDGE...what?...it's an innocuous piece of paper that looks like one would sign if he (or she)  won the MVP Award of the local billiard's team...and they may be a bit fearful that if...and that now becomes a big IF...he doesn't win the Repub Nomination for Prez, he will endorse whoever (whomever?) does....

OK...it's a sign...that they want to show that he, meaning Trump, will not bolt to a 3rd party, in his effort to become the Prez...think about this, kids...the upper echelon of the GOP has to be furious that the Donald is beating up all their wannabes...and they may have to succumb to him...and his wayward thinking from the party...in simple terms, this is hilarious!...

I'm like many others, totally surprised by the ground swell of support for the guy...at first I thought it was a joke...and that has changed...not so...I know I know I know...there are you purists of the party system, that think he could never get elected...and if so, which I just said he couldn't...er, you said he couldn't...that he'd get none of his ridiculous promises passed in Congress...

Hmmm...maybe, not so fast my friends...as he wants change...and there are those out there who believe...the lobbyists get taken down is a very attractive item...the blokes who run the country...can that happen?...not so, say you purists...it's way early...but not in the eyes of the Republican Brass...right?...stay tuned to this bat channel...

Played the game of golf out at Steele Canyon yesterday...and had my best out there...an 85...so what you say?...canyons, OB everywhere, natural hazards, water...I took a bunch of "water" balls...and only lost one...into the natural areas...where you can't go to retrieve...on the 17th hole...promise on the horizon...drove it better...

The stock market...huge hit yesterday...lord, I have no idea...and, today is a rebound day...er, I hope...opened up, right?...

The hostess of the show...the pathetic Miley Cyrus...tried hard to be just that...disgusting and a total embarrassment to any such event...her proud parents were in the front row...we taped it...and the number of commercials rivaled the number of actual moments of the awards...is this the state of the young peops of the US?...wait...also in the front row was the nation's Camelot Family of the Kardashians...missing?...Cait...must have misplaced her invite...

A high light of the broadcast?...the Biebs did a tearful rendition of ...I dunno...ended up with tears in his eyes...and the direction he sang (?) to...well, she is part of the Swiftee Crew...Selena Gomez...and all the group of gals made an exit to the glamour room...ha ha...they were gone!...dang, Biebs, and you had them right where you wanted them...oops, they were in the can...guess not...

Switcheroo...the Pads survived the last game versus the lowly Phillies...at least did not get swept...and travel back home to SD...for like an 11 game home stand...let's see, if we win all of them, then we are back in the hunt...oh my...

NFL...the Bolts first real game is against the Lions...a team that I figure is the true long shot for the finals...really...I like a lot of their parts...and we'll see how right I am...if I was in Vegas, I'd bet a bit on them...

PGA...the bloke on a run...Jason Day...ran away with the 1st round of the playoffs...something I can't figure out...why they even have them...won by 6 strokes...as he can putt, kids...and hits the ball a long, long ways....where was Tiger?...I joke...

The Stock Market...started low today...no clue...should we be buying stuff?...should we stay put?...who the heck knows...

I keep sifting through all my emails that are advertisements...and realize...that is the bulk of what I get...and am unsubscribing...some are hard to get to that point...layers of filtering...do you have that problem, too?...it's my project for the day...

Hit the links early tomorrow...out at Steele Canyon...big T at Sycuan...going to try a diff approach with my driver...adjust the head to straight up...it is in a draw spot now...and get this, will try my dangest to slow down my swing...when I do this, I usually swing faster than ever...slow at the takeaway, and monster fast from the top...ha ha...well, as one of my golfing teachers told me years ago, "hey pard, you need to smoke a joint before you play"...$35 please...

Where the latest poll has Bernie Sanders closing in on Hillary Clinton...hmmm...deja vu for her?...and this without a "I'm in it" from the VP Joe Biden...the Democrats are stating a case...and this guy is doing the grass roots approach...meeting the people...not just the reporters...and it is appealing for the voters...

The Bolts had a very good effort versus the Seahawks...who got the silly season win at the buzzer...er, close to it...on a 60 yd FG, in the last minute...the announcers left the issue alone...mostly...but brought up the fact that Seattle had a lot of fans there...er, they travel well...hmmm...and then... they went with the fact that San Diego just may not be the home for the Chargers much longer...that it will be decided in October...the league would decide...ha ha...the owner Spanos, and his 2 managing sons...are gone...so, the telecast peops... brought up that the Raiders, or, gulp, the Rams, maybe coming this way...to call home...right...

Staying negative...the Pads are in Philly playing one of the worst in the game...wait, and have lost 2 straight...on sorry efforts...and just may be taking that moniker over...

Speaking of the worst...I finally hit the links yesterday at 7 am...trying to beat the heat...it was 98*...and my driving was as awful as it has been for awhile...and I'm not talking about behind the wheel...military golf...and then my putting went balky...face it, I am just not very average...87...and that was a good score for the way I hacked...pooh...

You think that Taylor Swift doesn't generate excitement?...the GQ was overrun by her fans...and the signs and the teeny boppers...all over the place...Sammi got her hair cut...and we had to battle the traffic to pick her up...her groomer is over by Petco, where the concert was held...and it was a sea of Swifties...

The MTV's...eegads...it's  hosted by the pathetic Miley Cyrus...tonight...she has talent...but has lost her way...and she thinks that people are laughing with her....nope, wrong...she thinks she is...well, enough of this...maybe I'm just too old to figure it out...

Due to the lack of elevator availability, we are on day 3 of no cooking...and we have to use the bathroom sink for cleaning up...as we are waiting for the countertops and the hook ups of the range, the cook tops, and the sink...so off we went to Ralphs...to get microwave food...adapt, people, adapt...

Just might be a horse race day for me...speaking of that...the Triple Crown Winner, American Pharaoh...finally got beat...in NY at Saratoga...the key tip...that very few knew...he gained 200 lbs since his last race....and looked spent in the last 100 yds and got passed by...and the rumor is...he is to retire to stud...very lucrative...
