Back in our other life, in Oregon ...we went to one in Mt.Angel ...where them Catholics held a boondoggle of one...huge tents set up for the occasion...the rest is the same...you HAD to have a DD to get home...designated driver...preferably a pregnant wife...I digress...yes, a good time was a norm...BUT... I have this thing for one of the cherished treasures you get there...an official Oktoberfest Mug ...which you use for the imbibing, then carry on home to put on the mantle for fond remembrances... This is just a short note, that the Horse Blog will be run later this day...woke (bad term, Repubs?) up late, and have the golf soon...thoughts for the day and more...ha ha...like this is the Ed Sullivan Show... The Friars got shut out in 'Zona...embarrassing loss in a must win situation....right now, underachieving... The Chiefs beat the Chargers...my QB Herbert got banged up...grrrr...and the broadcast via Prime was awful...kept spinning, delaying, and annoying...finally switched to something else... My 'WHY" Q yesterday is important...I can add more...that both of those governors of Texas and Florida (Abbott and Costello) should be arrested immediately for interstate people trafficking, and or smuggling...they, like trump, fear no repercussions for breaking the laws of the land...they seem to say to all of us 'we are above the law'... We did finally break down and order HULU...too many shows of interest that we had to see... OK, kids...will talk at ya'll lat...

The HOT news is that Prez B avoided a nationwide strike of the train business ...crucial lines of goods that get carried all over this country, let alone people traveling....in the more suburban areas, you see non-stop trains a working...this was a great accomplishment by this regime...seems like there is always something brewing...we occasionally ride the rails up to Montecito to see the kids...5 1/2 hours of stress free travel...the time that one doesn't have to drive thru LaLa Land, makes it all worth it...anyhoo, crisis averted...now on to the next dilemma... Sure wish the stocks would stabilize...ha ha... Further takeovers by the Ukraine military ...to the borders of Russia...I have no proof, but it appears...that the heart and soul of the Russian invaders...was (were?) missing...that their goal was not the same as Putin's...in my very Carnac's crystal ball...I see Putin relieved of his duties by the Kremlin...it's like being told what to do by the 'Palace'...

For youse non-sporters, this might be an awe shucks moment...is that aw?...anyhoo, the headline for today is The Line ... what bettors and prognosticators thrive on ...the guess of what the point differential for the upcoming games just might be...used to be the Wednesdays...not anymore, it starts right up...you see, people bet gargantuan amounts of cash on games...all sports...but, football kind of has the most...it's a weekly thing, and not the daily...like in hoops and beisbol...so much for the preface... The BYU Cougars roll into Autzen this weekend ...sporting a mighty number 15 ranking in the national polls...the hosts, the Ducks, are ranked too, as the #25 team in the land...YET...The Line...the Vegas Boys...have the game favoring Oregon by 3 1/2...which makes me wonder, why not have the Vegas Boys rank the teams, too...and see how similar or different theirs is?... Up in Seattle, 2 crucial games for the Friars ...well, with only 20 regular season ones left...they ALL are IM...

Just finished the show on Apple +... 'Suspicion' ...it had it's moments, of what on earth?...where is this going?...stringing you along...and then the finality...guess, I shan't tell ya all of this...but, to say it was BEEZARO would be OK... the Horse rating? ... B- ... I was on cloud 9 in me golf ...was 1 under after 4...add on my last game...somewhere in the back of my mind, "I got this figured out" ...ha ha...and then, reality set in...missing fairways, missing putts...back to hackdom...have I ever told ya it is a hard game?... Alrighty then...the NFL...is an absolute brutal match between, ah, two brutes ...humongous human beings, beating up each other...extreme weight via?...they all aren't that big, naturally...then the aftermath...the 130 lb pundits make or break the psyche of the guys...still, my fantasy team is loaded, with underachieving dudes in week 1...it's a long season... The Emmy Awards ...had this on during dindin...you KNOW my take on...

For this topic, I will call the former as the Normal News ...they are centered on King Charles, his speech to their parliament ...odd watching him walk down the aisle and the blokes are hardly peering at him...like they are disgusted...just an observation...then, the other... Ukraine running Russia out of their country ...which is a shocker to us all, I reckon...but, love it, absolutely love it...and then... the NFL, with all the ups and downs of week 1 ...where so many of the country bet on, and or, are part of the fantasy football phenomena... Then, the latter...the social media ...where they are spot on the why... why trump has been flown b...

For those who rank these horrific things...9/11 will be, or is, one of the happenings that WE will always remember ...where we were, what we were doing, and then, what to do afterward...right?... equal to when the stock market crashed, JFK was shot, MLK was shot, RFK was shot, Pearl Harbor was bombed ...events that seemingly changed the USA...so many queries...how could this happen?...
