CRAZY HORSE

We are talking CLAM CHOWDER ... it doesn't take a lot for some joint to affix the Best! ...to it's markee...marquis? ...anyhow...if someone tells you it is in fact, the BEST ...then use it...to be sure, there are 2 general types... New England and Manhattan ...ah, ha...the Boston vs New York thang ... the Horse is going to stick to the creamy one, er whitish one...the New England ...as we, of past times, frequented the Oregon Coast...and had what was called the Best Clam Chowder at Mo's ...a perfect combo of the clams and all the goodies with it...topped with butter and paprika... alas, along comes the birthday boy, Snooki (his 76th?), and proclaims his bar of choice, that he often frequents, has a better one...did he say best? ...others up and down the coastline of the Pacific...tout that theirs is the 'Best!' ...now, it doesn't take much to claim it...someone just say it... The letters, we USED TO WRITE...we struggled with how to end them...regardless of what it was about ... 'yours truly' ...this was often used...truly, though?...we're you really?...why isn't that truely?...it was an expected thing... like the Martha Stewart 'rules of courteous behavior' ...as she ended up in the slammer...Martha?...one of the more elderly peops in our building...ah, here at the home...still calls the Boss (Marsha), Martha...I digress...and what's with the opening, 'Dear' ...are you really meaning, Dear?...why not Hey...or just 'To' ...makes more sense to moi...back to the end... 'Love' ...what the heck?...my parents never said they loved me...can't imagine them using it in a letter...and what if you love somebody now, and then...it all falls apart...and no longer love them...geez, they have it in writing...ah, yes, to borrow from the McGuire Sisters ... 'Sincerely' ...you don't even know who they were, ...

Recall the often used phrase 'the good old days'...the innocent days...apple pie and coffee...where there wasn't drama each and every day ...perhaps, we were extremely naive...and they may have been good for you... BUT...the decade of the 50's may have been different for many Americans...dependent on where you resided ...this is one of those...the story of 'The Clinton 12' ... The year was 1956...the city was Clinton, Tennessee...and the Federal Government laid down a law that would allow ALL STUDENTS to go to their nearest school ...this was now a south problem...throughout the south...as this was what the South fought against in the Civil War...and lost...slavery... the treatment of black people ...even though, the war had been won, the treatment of the black people was STILL deplorable... 'whites only', rampant ...I can recall a trip I made in 1969, on my way to the University of Florida...and still saw signs of just that, in a small town I went thru....

In the ongoing trials of the attempted Coup...one of the leaders of the so called 'Proud Boys'. got a real hefty sentence...the longest thus far... 22 years in prison! ....the judicial system is having none of this...and is locking up those who planned, and carried out the most disgraceful act on the government...from within... which makes me wonder...and should make trump wonder...what is in it for him? ...figure he will throw everyone under the bus, so to speak...before he gets what is awaiting... might there be a pattern? ... In the Georgia case alone...all 19 who have been indicted...plead 'not guilty' ...interesting...as their defense, so it is being said...was 'I was just following orders' ...from whom?...the major players are listed...thus, they were doing what the donald asked of them...implicating trump in the most direct way... listen, and the more he talks at his revivals, and on his fledgling 'truth social', he is just incriminating himself....

Yes, it was good to be back home...but, the journey, was another thang... 8 hours on the Amtrak ...then, egads, there was a closed track ahead...so we disembarked at Solana Beach...called a 'Lyft' and got the final leg done, via the car ride...what?... a Coaster train, had hit a person...which closes the track...they said it would be like that, for an additional 2 hours... sitting on the tracks, just a waiting...there were almost 500 patrons, doing the same as us ...yup, there are that many 'Lyft's and Uber's in our area...which begs the query...is this the last time to use the train?...the immediate response, is YES...but, time heals the minds...we shall see... Anyhow, we got home...rested a second...literally...had a stiff one...freshened up...and went down to the party that was going on at the home...Labor Day shindig ...food, which we had none...the impetus...and telling the above story, over and over...and over...great ice breaker... which brings me to a RUDE ...

We are blessed with great kids...the trip was fun, but not house fruitful...the supply in their area is limited...what is available, has inflated prices...and beyond our price range...$2 mill...it would take a major buy in by Dr Cris....thus, we stay planted in Diego...and, as I have witnessed, they are doing quite well...the age group of their buddies, half of us...enjoy, kids... So surprised by FSU whupping LSU...and the Beavs dominating in San Jose...a real good sign for OSU...as I am really looking forward to seeing some football... Labor Day...ah, last day of horse racing out at the Fair...history lesson...before school starting...I still have dreams of teaching....23 years have passed...yup, 30 years in that profession is enough... Taking the Amtrak is as relaxing as it gets...negating the drive thru LaLa Land, is a huge plus...you ever taken the train ?...as I write today, on the trip... Can’t say much, but where the kids live and breathe, there are star types in abundance...whe...

Who scores 81...in a football game?...did not see any of it, but the Ducks did...over Portland State...isn’t there a mercy rule???...there were other lopsided ones...Oklahoma, Georgia, USC, and others...cash cows for the ripped... The game I so despised, was the Prime Colorado upset of TCU, in Texas, mind you...Coach Prime went on a rant after, disparaging his many doubters...he is a piece of work, to borrow the Grayhounds phrase...the Horse equates this...Coach P=trump...self inflating blow hards...3 more weeks, til you enter Autzen...gosh I hope you are 3-0 then...BOOM!!!… Now that the Friars are eliminated from the post season, we start to play well...sure, the pressure is off...who says you don’t feel that, even in the bigs... The Beavs at San Jose St today...a show and tell, of just what’s what...and FSU at LSU...another what’s on the table, brewing...cuz I’m not home, I’ve seen nothing...too much going on...
