Bragging rights? ...that is what is said throughout the nation, as the arch rivals of all the states play this weekend...well, it may be state to state...you KNOW what I mean...not so much down here in SoCal South...but, up in Oregon, you betcha...as the Beavers invade Autzen Stadium for the 123rd version of their CIVIL WAR ...and this just may be one of the better ones... Fuggit about the 20 point favoritisms that the Vegas Boyz have on the game... no way, dudes ...take the points and RUN...bet some quid on that...ah, a quid?...er, a pound or two...well, a C note for sure...lots of Euros... Some others that have got me on the lookout... Michigan and Ohio St ...as the Wolverines have been playing a lot better...but, when the stress of finally beating someone you haven't...well, the odds improve for the fav...figure the Buckeyes will win....the same sort of thang, happened in the Apple Cup yesterday...the WSU Cougs just can't beat the Dawgs ...nope...the D Coordinato...

Hey, how was your Thanksgiving? ...the meal good?...the fam together?...how about that football?...and what about the weather?... lightning and thunder down here ...with lots of rain...'we need it'...gosh, if I hear that line one more time, I'm gonna scream...for the grub, we had the Horsebaked Ham ...took longer to cook, then I figured... almost 4 hours to get it at 140* ...it was terrific! ... This day after is called 'Black Friday' ...loads and loads of great buys for the Holidays...I guess. ..went on the web net last eve and then this am, and the ads appeared to be the same...not sure about where you live, but the amount of stores has dwindled...thus, the online shopping is very appealing... Amazon, Walmart, and Target , are the leaders...there are scads more... What are the 'hot' items? ...techy stuff, for sure... phones, TV's, earbuds and earphones, Alexa thangs, computers, laptops, and well, ya'll get the drift ...I do think the earbuds...

'It's the greatest, it's the latest...' ...man oh live, if ya'll are having the turkey, you BETTER have the mashed potatoes , too...with loads of gravy...I mean, c'mon... USED to be, one had to have every single bit mashed, ...now, it is in vogue to have lumps of taters in them...albeit, small ones...BUT, this household is minus the bird...it is the Horsebaked Ham ...with scalloped taters...that's the way it is... I keep thinking back this am, about the funniest TV Turkey dinners ...the 2 that jogged me brain the most...were the ones on and Friends  and Cheers ...the clear favorite, was the Cheers episode ...it was the throwing of the food, all over the set...lawdy, it was FUNNY! ...the Friends one that was my reference, was when Brad Pitt sat in...seems like on a smaller table....which brings me to Seinfeld ...where I don't think it was Thanksgiving, but Elaine was at a smaller table , too...the one about the horse...or, another dindin, in ...

Talk about your strange weather patterns throughout the USA!...snow and cold, most everywhere...the rains to hit the southland...this making the traveling near impossible as the masses head to the gathering family spots...well, attempt to...can't help but think back when we would travel north to PDX to pick up our son for this time of the year...quite often was a 4-5 hour round trip...and that was in decent weather... That term 'bomb cyclone'...snow hitting at 100 mph...imagine...anyhoo, said to have touched down in the Oregon mountain range...the main road from Cali to Oregon shut down...I-5, at the border...too much snow and ice... Down here is the pending rain storm...supposedly to hit our area around 2ish...so, the boys are thinking we can get 18 in prior to...so, I will cut this off short...the much needed rain has already started in Santa Barbara...to help subdue that 'Cave Fire' that has been burning...terrific timing... 57*, so I must bundle up...try...

Perhaps, you spend countless hours working on just the 'perfect' dinner for Thanksgiving ...totally dependent on the numbers you have attending the gala event...right?... big turkey, big ham, or maybe even a prime rib roast ...and, of course, all the fixings that accompany whatever you choose for the main course...alas, the two of us, ventured out to Costco for the purchase of ours... Not sure if I can amply tell you about the masses that were there...all doing the same thing we were...and, then, this smacked dab in me face...they have a complete turkey dinner already prepared for ya...I must say, that is was a very popular item ...hmmm, did not glance at the price, but, I'm sure it was affordable...hey, it's not a frozen jobbie, it has been prepared right there on site...ah, I reckon.. .can't believe I did not take a pix of it ... We did not fall for it...instead got the big ham ...in lieu of the Honeybaked...but, did grab the pre-made scalloped taters. ...

THUD! ...went the ranking of the University of Oregon Ducks ...from number 6 in the country to, ah, pause...number 14... FOURTEEN!!! ...which tells me there were quite a few skeptics in the voting world in the 1st place...well, how this team and coaching staff regroups, will be on display this weekend for the CIVIL WAR ...with their arch enemy, the Oregon State Beavers...gosh, kids, a vastly improved squad... They have had 122 games prior to this upcoming one...talk about deep seeded history ...hey, against each other to be clear...for those in the state, there are lines drawn...you are either a Duck or a Beaver ...not sure how this is for you Oregonians, but I pull for the Bevos in every game other than the Civil War ...you want a prognostication?... the home team has a very slight advantage ...it is in Eugene ...so much depends on the weather, too...ah, favoring who?...he who runs the best...if nasty rain, wind, and blustery conditions...prevail... The overall record is UO ...

Hey ya'll. am back from a mini-vacay, 'glamping' at the beach...had so much fun and having them miracle Mackles join us with their Class B made it even better...you'd a thunk that with all the stuff we took, we would have been gone a week...and brought back...anyhoo, back at the zoo , for a mighty festive week ahead of us... The joy in the possible run for the final 4 has ended for the Ducks ...as they got handled by the hosting ASU Sun Devils ...the score was not indicative of the REALITY check ... this is a good UO team, not a great one ... the QB was just awful for the 3 quarters, kids...just awful...and I say this too often, much to the dismay of my PNW colleague... the play calling is not as good as it could be...this is a game that the Ducks needed to RUN the ball...and the overuse of the pass, just killed the momentum of most drives...oh well, the D was getting mauled, too...might not have made a difference...POOF!...
