The Pix this week... Oklahoma vs. Texas ...big game of the week... Sooner's Bradshaw back and the Longhorn's Colt McCoy (pictured) is in prime form...very, very close...but it's Texas ... Arkansas vs. Florida ...took one game to get Tebow back in his mode...another very close win for...the Gators ... USC vs. Notre Dame ...the best chance ever for Charlie Weis to beat the Trojans...won't happen... USC ... Utah vs. UNLV ...what on earth happened to the Rebels? A steady down turn in play and has gotten embarrassing... the Utes ... USC (Gamecocks ) vs. Alabama ...another extremely competitive one...USC defense is under rated and the Crimson Tide's offense is over rated...but it's at Alabama ...thus it's the home team... For the season, I am 24-6 ... Off to Vegas people...

Just when you think you are old ...and finally reach the Social Security age of 62 ...and you look in the mirror and say "what the ___"... then you hear that the greatest college coach of all time turned 99 yesterday ...none other than the great John Wooden ...he who had the unbreakable record of 10 NCAA titles at UCLA ...he who did it right and was not like the rash of collegiate bandits out there posing as coaches...and, he was the one that I most tried to copy as I was emulating his patterns in the basketball world...yes, I am but a child in comparison ...in many ways... This Facebook world is pretty cool...I have had the chance to communicate with many people in my past and it is fun to hear what they made of their lives...and I also thank all the friends that have given me birthday wishes... Fantasy football ...I am in a league with Dr. Cris's group and am against the other leader in the league this weekend...I think it is versus one Joel Alley...I am not favored,...

Obviously, if you're in Rome , you do what the Romans do...this is Blazer territory and the talk is all about them as the season begins to kick off...the coach, Nate McMillan , is all about selling the defense to the squad...tough sell in an 82 regular season gamer...yet, it's the difference between a good and a real good team... the jury is out ... Speaking of Portland ...the Beavers ...have an offer on the table to move their Padre connected team to Beaverton ...60% funded by that local city... wow , didn't think that could ever happen in tough financial times... In the MLB playoffs , the best teams advanced... NY , Anaheim , LA and Philly ...and anyone of them could win it all... really It's cold, wet, dark ...here in Rome ...

All hail to the Dux and Beavers for smashing victories yesterday! As far as my SEC pix I was 3-2 and now 24-6 for the season... MLB playoffs are on and I don't care much...did see that the Red Sox got blasted... The President's Cup was all aces this week... Tiger and Lefty were awesome, each undefeated...as the US had little trouble with the International squad...mighty Tim Clark was sensational for them... The weather here in the great northwest has been splendid and I just may get to play a few more times prior to going back south... Had a wonderful celebration of my birthday with 40+ friends at Padington's... Curb is on tonight...
