As I said yesterday... if you can judge anything by one series ... the Eagles are in trouble ...defensively...not sure if they were missing some blokes...but it was turrible...porous...and worse than that, not deep...not sure who is running it...but they looked lost...offensively?...they looked fine...fast paced?...not so much...I was a little, no, a lot disappointed....if you can judge after one or two sets... By the way, the Pats are loaded and ready to roll... OMG... the Pads have given up!... it is a total embarrassment ...no life... and for goodness sakes, why the hell would you ever start Kotsay? ...just a flipping mess...got to quit watching them...hey, and I am being kind... Quinten now goes on the DL ... biggest brittle guy I have ever known...and the combo of Headley and Hundley...it's just turrible.... PGA ...9 under leads at the 1/2 way point...surprise for sure...you see some of those fairways?...don't know how any bloke hits them...so small in width......

Morning kids.... After watching the 1st pre-season game of the year... the Chargers versus the Seahawks ...I'm reminded that you can't read too much into 'em... BUT ...I will say that the offensive line looked better...if you can tell much from one possession...and...overall the 1st strings are a step up...and... Seattle is tough, tough, tough ...and very deep...which means good stuff for them...real good stuff...if you can judge anything from one pre-season game...I'll be interested as to what the Trib's experts say this am... The PGA ...great start for a lot of the blokes... Jim Furyk (?) and Adam Scott , at 5 under...which in any other year would win this thing outright... Lefty and Tiger? ...the two that most everyone has on the radar as probable winners...both one over...and didn't play that badly...lots of golf to go...and TNT or TBS has it again...and it will be the Tiger round that they will follow...appears to be a great and challenging GC.... ...

It's not that often that I say that the Pads mail one in...yesterday was one of those..played lethargically...the lack of clutch hitting was huge,,,especially the catcher, Nick Hundley..who hit into 2 double plays...staying with him...he throws nobody out...ever...and Headley...swings for the fences, when he needs to be hitting line drives...and ends up striking out way too often...for a number 3 hitter...ok, time for redemption...afternoon game....Go Pads! Thank goodness for the golf channel...they have been on site at the PGA...in NY...and we can watch the blokes practice...mostly Tiger...can he getter done?   Everyday a new gal turns up against Headlock Filner...think he needs to find another job...right? It's shark week?  We glorify this?   I mean it is scary being out in the Atlantic...you know, warm water...we stay in the middle of the crowd... Odd to see ARod playing in a situation where the other PEDS users were not...but...I think that the court system must be used in this...so...I guess it figures...still, something seems so wrong... The awaited suspensions of the PEDS guys is upon us...and for some reason, ARod is going to fight his punishment ...and can continue to play...play?...hey, I am saying that this thing needs to go to court....and it may...however, the Pads SS Everth Cabrera , was named...and apparently will go on a 50 game hiatus...haven't heard otherwise...and so it goes...er, starts... The Johnny Football saga continues...he is now accused of signing autographs for $...eegads...it appears that this guy thinks he is above the D-1 Laws...and the practice times are to begin today...there's too much for him to handle and this will not go down, easily...I can see a 3 or 4 game suspension...but...does he get it?...I doubt it...I think he'll figure that this is his last season in college...maybe...something is just not right... The Pads are basking in the glory of their series win over the Yankees...and now get ready for Baltimore...and their home run hitting crew...should be another ...

OK, not really...as the Pads won the series...behind great pitching by newcomer Kennedy ... 6-3 ...and SD now has won 4 straight series ...a very good sign...the bad part?... SS Cabrera should be put on hold for he rest of the season...get this...the guy who MLB really wants is ARod ....who says he is joining the Yankees tomorrow...and will appeal his decision...and continue to play....why don't all the accused do so?...go to court and get after it...why not?...I don't get it if they are innocent...stay tuned...
