Concert Time

It's been a long Pandemic ride we have endured...if you and I are lucky enough to escape the deadly part of the virus...I guess if you are reading this, you were, ah me too...the numbers of people that are inoculated are resounding and on the path of safety...of course, there are those who still think that it was a hoax, probably the same that think that trump won the election...just a wild guess...and we finally get to go and see a concert...which I have been ballyhooing for some time now...the infamous Beach Boys!...

The two that drive the show, Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, are fun and set the tone...the rest of the now band, ie the kids of...not sure who is doing the high voice...hopefully Jeffrey Faucett...and have some 'guests' to add some music...ha ha...John Stamos and Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray)...are reportedly here tonight...wonder if masks are required?...

There is talk about a 60 year reunion of all The Beach Boys...Al Jardine, David Marks, and Brian Wilson...that have been doing their own rendition of the band...we saw their 50 year reunion show out at Chula Vista and it was memorable, and a blast...let's just say we had 'Good Vibrations'...

Moving on...

The mighty Padres are in Texas for a set...and lo and behold, another OT game...this time, we erupted for a 7 spot in the 11th and won 10-3...it's not easy...Yu goes today...which is our best going now...we need to score more runs, kids...you must catch (play on words) the one made by the SF LF, that absolutely robbed the newly acquired 1B Pulhols, of a game winning HR!...as the Giants finally held on and beat LA...hey, is this me?...

In the NBA...Boston beat the Nets...oh my, with an odious of all time call by New Jersey...which is where the refs are, that talk to the game officials...something smelled to high heaven on it...a charge on Kevin Durant, a no doubter...which was incredibly reversed...in the last minute of the game...thankfully, Boston didn't feel this and won...shenanigans, kids...wonder what the point spread was?...something...big money bet, and I don't trust anyone...

The lil woman resurrected the chicken fried steak...cuz we certainly didn't eat it all...put it in a stew and it was mahvelous, dahling...get this, she also took the pancake mix and made biscuits...another innovation...she wins the blue ribbon...well, last nite...

This BIG item came into my LITTLE head...who makes and sells arms...like military shit...that goes throughout the world...to protect and then, kill...well, here we go...this may surprise you...as of Dec, 2020...1.  Lockheed Martin $53 billion bucks in sales.  2. F*R*I*E*N*D*S

For all of you, my faithful Horse readers, take some time out of your very busy weekend...and find this GEM on HBO Max...the F*R*I*E*N*D*S Reunion Show...it isn't a new episode, but an in depth look at the stars and their roles...how they got their parts, who were the producers, and more so, allowing the 6 to remember and recall things from the show's past...it was AWESOME for all of us who have seen the show, over and over and over...it sure seems like these are really good people...I won't ruin it for you, but will say this much...Joey is very entertaining....

Look at these two friends frolicking in the pool this am...actually doing a workout in the water...with aqua socks and all...I have a real good idear, when the lil lady gets up here, that the Horse will be requested to do what they are doing...ah, yes...the achilles is getting better...however, you know how bad it is, if I have skipped golf again today...

The LeBron Lakers and the Suns...in LaLa Land...easy win for the home team...I may be hedging on my pulling against them...as I told you yesterday, I don't like Phoenix much...after seeing them go, the 'star' Devin Booker, is a real full fledged jerk...right...now I am with the Lake Show...in THIS series...I have the right to change...done...

We watched a Netflix docu...'The Nail Bomber'...in London, back in '99...not sure if I was aware of this...which had some in depth looks at their white supremacy...eerily similar to the trump regime...you might have the same response if you do view it...this I did, too...there are a lot of people in a very tiny island...all ethnicities, too...island country, to be fair...and more accurate...

The mighty Padres lost the final game in Milwaukee...split the series at 2...I do think that this mgr has done a wonderful job this season...with all the subs needed, but yesterday, I think he was not on his game...it happens...I know I made a mistake or two in my coaching past...ha ha...you are allowed...BUT...3 hours is too long for a beisbol game...

Last eve, we tried to make chicken fried steaks...disaster...followed the recipe to a T...still...and did one in the air fryer, too...no bueno...any of you experts on this?...

When one hears or reads the number 232, people might think that it is a highway...or an area code...NO!!!...it is the number of mass shootings in the USA THIS YEAR!...as I left the writing yesterday, the news broke of another one in San Jose...at a light rail yard...the trams that are prevalent in bigger cities...9 killed, and himself...a worker there...the Congressionals 'our thoughts and prayers go out'...what should go out, is them...and the NRA and their lobbyists...and this morning, out of free and easy Texas...3 cops were killed on a routine stop at a house...I guess we are now adding that to the number...now 233...does your elected official have no shame?...what will it take?...

You tell me...I am at a loss of what to do and think...the obvious is to get the rapid fire rifles out of the hands of the common man...but, there are those who think that there are too many out there....that they own one or many, so they can protect themselves...I guess this is it...we have to start somewhere....anywhere...but, the idea of no background checks in Texas, has befuddled me...help me understand...

So, the NBA players want and love the crowds to return to their games...BUT, the fans are crazed about the return...as the passion has gone overboard...last nite, a couple of incidents...as a player got spat on in NY, and one got popcorn thrown on him in Philly...listen people, it's a game...control yourself...there you go, problem solved (sic)...ah, who is playing today?...Suns at Lakers, and Nuggets at PDX...good stuff...

Beisbol...the mighty Padres took advantage of the absurd OT rule that is in place and won the decider in Milwaukee, 2-1...and the league 'honored' the longevity of the ump, Country Joe West...a pain in the rear to the game, but he has lasted a very loooong time...how did he celebrate the tribute?...tossed out a mgr after having a pitcher change his cap...thought he may be cheatin'...

I have to go thru my stuff and see what I have from The Beach Boys...ah, Saturday Nite concert...think I have a couple of tees, a sweat shirt, and some caps...how about 'Hawaii?'...

Time for some legal issues...a grand jury...in NY...been convened to look at the trump organization...23 members, and it takes a simple majority to get something passed...12-11...supposedly they have been meeting already...3 times a week?...I think that is correct...donny q is claiming complete immunity cuz he was the Prez...don't think the GJ cares much about that...heard yesterday, that a judgment should come out within 6 months...

Ground floor...man, I have thought that this might happen long ago...but the re-emergence of Paul Ryan, in the Republican Party is happening...he will make a speech tonight in Simi Valley, Cali...and will criticize trump and his hold on the party...about time...stay tuned...

Shoot! Arm Us All

Reckon if you want to feel safe, the place to be is in Texas...you be a longhorn...as the Guv there is gonna OK the packing of a revolver, UNDOCUMENTED!...no need to fill out any form...you got the cash, the firearm is yours...it's not the wild Wild West, but gosh, it is getting that way...they make their own rules there...you do know, that Teddy Cruz is one of their senators...enuff said...what was the old thang?...a plot of land, a pickup, a long neck bottle of beer, some boots, and now, add a six shooter...oh yea, the price is right to buy a house there, too...c'mon over...

The mighty Padres put together a combined fine effort over the Brewers yesterday...7-1...win...one more there...today...the day seems brighter when we win...why is that?...

OK, the Doc found out what was wrong with me leg...achilles not torn...but oh so sore...I am now on more substantial Advil (prescribed type)...stretching...ice...rest...perhaps, in a week, back to 'normal'...so no golf today...ha ha...

Damn if it doesn't look like the best teams in the NBA are the damn Nets and Lake Show...especially Brooklyn...they have it all, and actually played D yesterday...if that continues, the trophy is theirs...of course, my prognostications are rarely correct...hope I am wrong again...

Opening Up

As we in Cali approach the OPENING UP date of June 15, ah, er, thereabouts...where we may go mask free, to anywhere...and the restaurants, places of libation, the concerts, the games, the whatever...churches...all will be open and things will get back to 'normal'...there are those who have reservations about the timing...too soon?...some will still wear the masks...I get that...what I don't get, is that some STILL won't get the Covid 19 vaccine...fuggit about fearing the needle...and for goodness sakes, trump is out of power...preserve yourself and those you love...while you can...get vaccinated...

Things are moving that way already...as we are going to a Beach Boys Concert, down at Petco Park...where the mighty Padres play...the Friars are on a road trip, thus the site is available...the seats are sectioned off by social distancing...oh well, it will be fun...regardless...gosh, it has to be about 15+ times we have seen them...true dat...this Friday...Fun Fun Fun...

Speaking of the Pads...got the win streak snapped in Milwaukee yesterday...5-3...the Brew Crew did us in, the last time we played them, too...one game at a time, kids...and in Denver, the PDX Blazers were no match for the Nuggets in game 2 of the series...I still wonder if I favor them, it turns out to be a whammy?...

Today I finally see a Doc about my achilles...it has not bettered...I tried golf yesterday...at times, it was excruciating to hit the rock...if I planted my leg just right, and swung...no prob...if I twisted even a bit, it shot a pain all the way up my left side...no bueno...did get 9 pars...and 9 others...nevertheless, a mistake that I even went out...I fear my days on the course, will be tabled for awhile...

Mistake #2...walked to a place to have HH with our friends...10 blocks or so...horrific pain...BUT...the venue was kick ass...there were great food choices...and the feature was a guitar player and a myriad of singers accompanying him...Julio Fuenta, I think that is his name...at the Westgate...way cool...just the getting there might be a prob...

How about some stuff...real, no, just stuff...do you ever fall for those 10 best, er, 30 worst er, like whatever things that pop up on Facebook?...who has done these 25 things?...get 1 point for each...that kind of stuff?...I just did, reading about the 30 worst colleges or universities...some bamboozle put it together...got bored after 20 something...must be a forever, as trump university wasn't one that was listed...but Lewis & Clark College did, a school in PDX...a good one, too...

One more thing about Maui...and something that is certainly a first...their price of a gallon of petrol, was $3.75...cheaper than here in Cali...never ever seen that before...and we have gone there 20 years...we tax the heck out of our gasoline...

A Trifecta of Sorts

Dang it all, if I don't bring horse racing into this...but, a trifecta is 3 things that happen the way I want it to...in a race, the horses come in 1-2-3...OK, enough, that is what happened yesterday...3 outcomes in different sports, worked the way I wished...the Padres won, Lefty did too, and the Lakers lost...there you go, now let's look into them...

The mighty Padres...for the past week or so, I have been brief in talking about their wins...ah, now 9 in a row...all at home...the pitching has been terrific...the RP has been shut down smart...the lineups have been altered daily, due to Covid, minor injuries, and rest...yup, totally worked...Jr has been splendid in his return...no better than yesterday...2 dingers, with one a Slam Diego...the result?...best record in MLB...the next test?...on a 3 city road trip, beginning with Milwaukee...one game at a time, kids...

Lefty...Phil...who really is a righty...won the PGA T, the eldest player to ever do so...which was way cool...BUT...the fiasco on the 18th hole was unabashedly wrong!...nice for Lefty, but horrific for his playing partner, Brooks Koepka...who got mangled by the loving crowd for Mickleson...in their adoration...the PGA allowed the crowd to rush the hole...and follow the players...too closely...listen, Brooks was two down and with his birdie and Phil's bogey, we have a tie...I enjoyed that he won, but the scene itself, smelled to high heaven...fix this...

The LeBron Lakers lost in Phoenix...think that this won't be a donnybrook?...I'm not a fan of James and Davis...just not...funny thing, is I'm not of the Suns, either...ha ha...but, the lesser of the two...of course, I am disgusted with the way hoops in general has gone...missile launching is the game now...the pattern of it, GONE!...

The mighty Padres...just have to start with them...bear with me...we have won EIGHT GAMES IN A ROW!...not that it hasn't happened prior...but not in our tenure here in south SoCal...last nite, with two of our normal starters resting...not via Covid, mind you...we almost have all of them back...Wil, is still, MIA...the rest are here, and now...well, you get the picture...we are rolling...it is fun, and listen kids...the day is brighter...now, the BEST RECORD in the bigs...

How about them Blazers!...an upset win in Denver...not sure if any of my coaching brothers could do this...the shots they take are bizarre...the bloody 3 has changed the game...PDX has some good ones, that fire the rock from long distance...missile launchers...Dame and the crew...I will say, that the Nuggets are beatable without their all star Murray...fingers crossed that Portland keeps it going...I am down to them as my team in the playoffs...damn, if that isn't a whammy...sorry TB's...

In the last prez campaign, CNN paid for a bloke to speak on behalf of the Repubs...'fair and balanced'...ha ha, wait, that is someone else's...Rick Santorum...lord, he has been released now...he had made a statement that the fair headed Euros came over and established their system here on land that was not inhabited...OK, I paraphrased that...in other words, he was bashing the Native Americans who were here...the indigenous people...the Injuns...the savages...the redskins...all them renegades and squaws...how could he not recognize them?...yes, he talks too much...

One more thing about traveling...I have them ear buds, that sound so great...they kept falling from my ear...not so cool in an airplane...at one time we had 3 people on the ground looking for it...ie, the stewardess...oh my...just got some with hooks for the ears...

Wait, one more...I have had this iPad mini forever...it is number 2...now they have it up to 6, I think...I did not know that it would play a movie on it...way cool...for all of my planning, this was one thing that I failed to recognize...the movie I was watching was about a dawg...in Alaska...it was funny...no idea the name of it...had Harrison Ford as a co-star, to the dawg...
