Morning kids ...not even sure if my title today is a word...but it does show what I mean about those "sports pundits" who came out against the actions of the 2B of the NY Mets ... Daniel Murphy ...who had the audacity to miss a couple of games due to the birth of his daughter ...which the Mets lost both...and some of the media crucified him...saying that it's his job to be a MLB player...not at his wife's side at the birth...which was by C section ...and thus, the couple new ahead of time what was happening...throw out the fact that it is actually in the approved contract of baseball, to miss games for this exact situation... shame on you sportswriters...get a life...or, at least, allow a person to enjoy the beginning of another... So how did he do upon returning?...playing in NY... he had a hit and committed 2 errors ... I can hear the booing all the way down here in SD... It used to be good enough to give a 2 week notice of quitting a job ...maybe a month......

Can't imagine why I would buy some of these... SD Padres tickets ...as the product is the same as last year, in fact, the last 3 years ...keep the faith and all that crap...watching the Pads play the Bums was like viewing the Varsity against the JV's ...and I don't mean we are the elder group...every bloke from the Dodgers have a chance of attacking the ball...we have maybe two...and one of them is on the DL...oh yea, we got beat 5-2 ...and lost the series...duh... This season has a new twist... the manager has an option to protest a "missed call" ...even our mild mannered boss, Mgr Buddy, can't seem to get this right ... as his protest was denied! ...the umps said he took too long to get out and protest a call...eegads...and there were 2 blown calls at first ...and one of them, he didn't even come out ...my son says to quit watching as it just frustrates me so... I was screaming profanities at the screen... Well, I do have 3 sets of tix in my ...

Morning kids... played some form of rain golf yesterday...like 8 holes in the wet stuff...and I didn't have my rain gear...ended up using towels...gripped the clubs with bare hands, in lieu of the a glove...and played miserably.... the boys kept calling me 77 ...and laughed their fool heads off...should NEVER have told them...the club kept slipping out of me hands...once the sun appeared, I played ok...shot a 43 on the back...freezing me bones...and have not played without a glove for years...I can hear you crying for me right now...I am NOT a mudder... I am very skeptical when is comes to the '14 version of the baseball boys in the GQ...the Pads lost to the Bums...I couldn't stop watching...and my greatest fear...is that the inept hitting of 3B Chase Headley would be just that...he bats 3rd for us...and twice killed rallies with little dribblers that turned into inning ending double plays ...it would be better if he struck out... he looks heavy, slow, and his bat ...

Stop the season...NOW!... the Padres are undefeated and ruling the west...OK, it's only one game ...but we all have our moments...don't we?...of course, it took a rally in the 8th to getter done...who cares how...3-1...a typical score for this team...our new acquisition, Seth Smith hit a tater to start off it all... Cashner had a nice firster and there you go... take that you Bums... Your final 4. .. Connecticut (who had this?), Kentucky (yea, right), Wisconsin (I had this), and Florida ( who EVERYONE had) ...so the odds on fav is the Gators...or is that are?...so grammatically correct... You watch the Vallero Open out of San Antonio?...these poor blokes kept falling off the charts...somebody had to win...and the Aussie Bowditch did so...the last 3 groups looked like mine...in so many bunkers...weird, I say... he finished with a 76! ...and his others had 75's...ouch... Amazing Race ...a real fun episode...as my pick, The Big Brother Duo , hung on and continues...

Good morning kids...it's OPENING DAY! ...well, it's opening night...as the Bums are in town...sporting their ludacris $233 million dollar team ... the Pads are at $83 million ...so, they are 3 times better, right?...ha ha... The festivities are grand...the block party starts at 10 am...what?...yup...there's one thing...that at least half of the blokes going to the game...are BUM FANS! ...the Latino Connection around here are huge LA followers...it's true...just grin and bear it... I have been alluding to whom the catcher is going to be...it is Rivera...what?...seems like he catches our starter, Andrew Cashner , the best...by the way, a great article in the Trib about the life of him...the line?...oh yea, the Bums are favored... This paper does a marvelous job in covering the Padres ...and the MLB, in fact... The aforementioned Miller Bros ...in my yesterday's blog... both got beat ...as Dayton and Arizona got the boot...the latter, Wildcats and Wisconsin...
