The AL won for their 8th straight All Star Game ...their dominance is quite interesting...but, the delivery of the product was quite good...regardless of the victor...funny listening to the 'experts' predicting how many home runs were to be hit during the game...former White Sox star actually said 8!...ha ha, give me a break...the final score was 5-2... The only real tacky think was the odious uniforms the players were stuck wearing...all blue for the AL, and all white for the NL...marginal emblems that showed for whom they were actually from...what team...not sure who's idea that was, but he or she failed badly... The summer season has truly hit the south SoCal area where we inhabit ...70 degree weather patterns exist...and almost equal heights inside our dwellings...ah, no wind to move the air...so, to resist turning on the AC, we set up fans...to delay the inevitable...ha ha...AND...thus far, no fires...as we are so dry...especially east of us...always a scary time... have been aware of the fires that are raging on the border of Cali, Oregon, Nevada, and Idaho ...egads, we are going that way in like 9 days... I made mention last eve at a wonderful din din at the Mackles palatial estate ...that they had for us...that the Taliban were in scramble mode...you see, we talk about world wide situations...most of us are purnt near experts on many of the issues...however, I see that the ugly head of the Taliban has indeed surfaced...and were witnessed killing 20 something Afghans, PILOTS, I believe...so much for what I read...they are back...I misinformed our elite grouping of philanthropists...even, t...

What started as a whim...turned out to be a real find ... a trip to Temecula's wine country ...about an hour north of us down here in San Diego...seeking to stay the nite at South Coast Winery...however, it was totally sold out...the receptionist there recommended the next door site of Ponte Winery ...they each had hotels...albeit, not cheap...it was a surprise of surprises... Immaculate as it could be ...ie, a terrific pool and hot tub...having 2 restaurants and bars...extremely friendly staff...and the rooms were as nice as we have ever stayed in...total class...and after a brief walk thru the vineyards, was the tasting room...and their exceptional restaurant...as per usual, we joined their wine club...awesome discounts prevail...which covers all over the complex, ie, the Hotel... The din din we had was incredible ...I had a filet and Marsh had the salmon...topped it off with a better than ever strawberry shortcake...with some really fine red wine from Ponte...just a great getawa...
