Recall this advertisement way back in the...well, it was way back...'Where's the Beef?'...alas, it was a Wendy's ad...back in '84...guess that is 41 years ago...so, that may eliminate some of you Horse readers...I bring this up, as the national fast food chains...are going to another commodity for increasing their sales...chicken...that's right kids, chicken...cluck you, beef...to be fair, it's good for a change...but, my preference is the cheeseburger...not the big, fat, nasty ones....but the smaller and tastier burger...
The 8's...ah ha, now I go back to my days of working at a Meat market...8's refer to 8 patties to a pound...some, had us do 10's...some 6's...in your supers now, you see 4's quite often...can recall Bob's would pay more for their beef, as they wanted more beef, than suet...and they would pop their own patties...
Time went on after the 50's...the convenience of the burger joints...as well, as the Mom and Pop places got replaced by the Natty ones...soon, the single burger, became colossal burgers...piled high...3rd pounders became prevalent...me?...I like the smaller ones...IN N OUT, has that, adding the fresh veggies...purrfect...and yes, way way back, I dug the Bob's 25 cent cheeseburger...simple, and so good...
