Hump Day

We have had a near tumultuous time, around here...well, not exactly in SD...but under the cloud that is above us...things...just lots of things...that have erupted right before our eyes...so, the Horse has not had the computer available to write his daily...please, forgive moi...I should be back to normal soon...ah, maybe not...yes, check everyday to see if it's published...that's the best I can do for right now...how vague is that?...sorry, just has to be...for now...

News out of the Padres camp...not only did they have a super pre-season, but they did the roster move that they wouldn't have made, even a year ago...they are starting their superstar youngster at SS...Fernando Tatis, Jr...20 yrs young...any other time, in their history, they would shelve the kid in the minor leagues for a greater part of the season...then, bring the lad up...later on...another indication that the franchise thinks that this could be a banner year?...the opening day is mañana...

Shocking end to the Blazer's C, Jusuf Nurkic...a brutal break in his leg...in a ball game...another one of those, that you just can't watch...yup, tragic...he has already had his operation to fix it...but, of course, out for a good long while...the pundits, then said 'poof', there too, go the chances for PDX in the playoffs...not so fast, dudes...they have people to step in...still...just awful...

A day before the Big Dance starts back up...hard to believe, but the Horse still has a chance in his pool...really...hey, did you see the end of the Duke/UCF game?...one could say that the Blue Devils were lucky...or, one could say that they were benefactors of some mighty huge 'non calls'....an offensive foul and a push off...would have ended their season, now wouldn't have it...and a whole lot of cash would have gone poof....like some 42% of the brackets would have been busted right there....naw, now there wouldn't be any shenanigans going on...naw...
