I Hear The Drum Beating

One of my most memorable things of all time...when my parents, worked out at Chemawa Indian School (Oregon)...we lived in the housing complex for the staff...it was a grand old house, in an area of many of the same...a very compact neighborhood...like what you hear of in small communities now...everyone knows everyone, everyone knows everyone's biz...ah, there was no internet...there were no cell phones...just land lines, that were party ones...you had to break thru conversations to use the thang...we had a little store, that everyone bought at...that's where we got the mail, too...none of that, at your house delivery stuff...you (my parents) walked to work...

But, in my youth, the most outstanding thing I recall...is when the students arrived for the school year...you see, this was, and is still, a boarding school...the tribes varied over the years...the reasoning, did too...originally established to teach the White Man culture, and eradicate the Native one...ah, a different story for another time...the one I am referring to this am, is when the Navajo Tribe settled in...it was late summer...and they brought their ways, too...at dusk, they would gather and sing...and beat the drums...it would carry all over the area...the sound...it was...beautiful and haunting, at the same time...

In olden times, further back...when the drum was beating, it usually meant that there was going to be...trouble brewing...

In this crazy political time that we are in, with the bizarre antics of the current inhabitant of the White House...and his call to arms for the forevers...?...in all the 50 states of the USA...and DC, yet again...even, his former believers in Congress, have said that 'enough is enough'...I hear the drum beating...

The 2nd Impeachment will happen today...of the SAME bloke...trump...

Other, much less important...

On this season's Bachelor...there is a Salem, Oregon gal in the mix...trying to find love...and the local rag, there...the Statesman, had as one of their headlines...that she 'won' another rose...what?...

The Beard is gaining weight, losing steps, and is not earning his mega millions...all the time, complaining about the situation in Houston...NBA, kids...ah, he may be the reason...

The woman that was on death row, was executed...first woman since 1953 that the USA has done so...

If you haven't been watching 'The Flight Attendant' you are missing out...Kaley Cuoco, is mahvelous in it...HBO Max...

7 days to go...can the country survive?...seriously...

Replace the NY Jets, with Alabama in the NFL...

The pro sports teams are still shelling out millions of bucks to individual players...and most of us, on a fixed income...are hoping for an increase of the $600 stipend...

The lil lady has her birthday tomorrow...and, of course, the Horse ordered the present via the web net...some time ago...still has not arrived...contacted the seller...yup, you guessed it...got an email back from...China...it has shipped, but could be awhile, as it has to go thru customs...nowhere did it say the company was based there...shickered again...

Wait a minute, buster...her dad used that slang term all the time...shickered...and his meaning, was that he got hornswoggled...thing is, it really meant...drunk...hey, that's why you have the Horse, you learn something all the bloody time...

As one of the House of Reps walked into the Capitol this am, she witnessed the National Guard sleeping in the hallways...?...true...
