'Indian' Casinos

OK, like some of you would never ever call us Native Americans...to you, it's always been 'Indians'...whatever...my topic of the day is not that...it's the casinos that are run on the reservation land owned by these people...got me brain a ticking while I am reading the latest John Grisham book, "The Whistler"...

You a gambler?...unless you travel to Vegas, Reno, Tahoe, or Atlantic City...you probably have another outlet now...in fact, 28 of the 50 states have this...Indian Casinos...with sovereignty only by themselves...they pretty much can do what they want...hmmm...493 of them at last count!...what?...244 tribes do the owning and running of 'em...

Want some really cool thing?...try one of them maps of the different tribes throughout the country...just in case, you are a die hard Columbus believer...that he discovered America...you may see that the Natives were all over this country...inhabiting it...while he so brazenly found it...hmmm...another topic for another day...

Thing is, there are not a whole lot of actual members of the tribes...in numbers or even more curious, running their casinos...so...it begs the question, 'who is helping out in the process?'...loads of possibilities....remember, it's their own piece of land...and they can do whatever...innuendos abound about Mob or Mafia connections...nobody wants to speak out...hmmm...

Some tribes reap the reward of the betting sites...get like 'dividend' monthly checks...which goes out to all qualifying members...usually, you have to be at least 1/8 native blood...sometimes more...like 1/4...and...be a card toter, actually a real fan-dangled part of the tribe...so...not many people question how much and why they get the $...they just do...and thank the white eyes for their habitual sin of gambling....ha ha...just read the book...it is...bloody good...

Stuff...

The Holiday Bowl was last eve over at the Q...decent crowd...as Minnesota stifled the vaunted air attack of the Cougs of WSU...shocked me...as them Gophers were full of internal probs...threatening 'boycott' and the like...not sure what is 'like that', but...looked to me, that Wash St was completely ripped apart at the line of scrimmage and that was the 'tale of the tape'...what on earth is that?...they got beat up...

41 bowl games...that even had Army and Navy in 'em...when is the last time that happened?...hey kids...this is just a money making scheme...for everyone but the combatants...oh well, people watch...just not at the ball yard...from the seat of their pants on the pixels...and that must be the bulk of the $, right?...

Another resting jobbie...as Cleveland did so with King James...what?...this is a huge human being, in the prime of his playing hoops life... that the fans pay good $ to see...he sits...the Cavs lose...and the people feel like they got shickered...they did...boooooooo....

So sad to watch the reports of Carrie Fisher's death...Princess Leia...of Star War fame...you know the story...it's in all of my eleven sources...just, so sad...

Why isn't Chicago not a bigger item?...I mean, c'mon...this should be carried and talked about on a daily basis...and HAS to be cleaned up...are you telling me that there is no solution for all this shooting and killing?...on a weekly basis?...c'mon...

On the personal front...me bum thumb is worse...have a Dr appt in a couple of weeks...and need to stay off the GC until I find out what the deal is...hurts to swing the bloody club...been over a month...and even more info...Marsh made a pot of beans...I don't need to tell you anymore....

"Casablanca"...the flick...somehow, we watched it...Bogie and Polly Bergen...wait, make that Ingrid Bergman...WWII...have seen bits and pieces...this was in its' entirety ...'here's looking at you, kid'...it was kinda cool...

Well, get out there and make a difference in someone's life...if not your own...

Peace...
