Da Cubbies

I think we need some good news out of Chi-town for a bit...for sure, it is the incredibly solid and talented Cubbies!...they have the hitting, pitching, and closing aspects of the game down...with a quirk of a manager...to keep them off center...and fresh...not tight...and oh my, how about the band wagon appeal of the team! (right Shink?)...a few years back, my son and I were at spring training in Phoenix...we saw a number of teams...play...no more passionate were da Cubbie fans...at that time, very frustrated, yet loyal ones...it's their time...to rejoice and finally get their due...

The Tennessee Titans were at Oakland last night...and our Duck QB Mariota got to play the entire 1st half...splendidly...this is a new team, kids...with 2 RB's...one being the former Cowboy, DeMarco Murray, and the other the Heisman Winner out of 'Bama, Derrick Henry...with a beefed up line...they were at times in mid-season form in their whupping of the Raiders...the D?...still iffy...and there are holes to fill...but vastly improved team, kids...

We were looking for a new movie to catch...on Netflix...settled on a series that is called "Marcella"...set in London...wowser, it is all over the place...kind of cool...thing is, it's hard to hear and understand the dialect...they keep adding more and more characters...I'm sure it all ties together...we are just though the 2nd chapter...you heard of this?...

Did you know that the college team, North Dakota St., actually has a dome to play in?...of course, they have won their championship 5 straight years...and their QB was the 2nd pick in the latest NFL draft...or, was it 1st?...one of them...anyhoo...they played another in their division, out of Carolina...one of them...and won in OT....boooooring....sorry, kids, but true...

The VMA's are on tonight...ah yes. the cream of the crop...expect your gurl Britney, to lypsinc and gyrate her new "song" to the nation...and I hope Kanye is doing his new one, too...he is such a joy to watch perform...Taylor?...kind of been lambasted lately in the media...doubt if she is to be there...the Biebs?...man...you have a lot to look forward to...right?...

About this time of the season, where the tempers are hard to quell...in the extremely over extended season of beisbol...by the players and the umps...witness the debacle in Detroit...well, the Tigers were playing...and 4 of them got the heave ho...or where the Nat's mercurial OF and over -rated hitter, Bryce Harper, went off on blue over a pitch call...he gone...used to be...would happen all the time, prior to instant replay...BTW, does that make the game better or worse?...hey...the AAA Pads won 1-0 over the Fish in Miami...behind a dinger by Detlev Schimpf...and strong pitching by a retread, Clayton Richard...who I once called a human punching bag, when he was here the last time around...he used to get hit sooooo hard...the opponent today?...Cashner goes against his old buddies...BTW, without face hair!...ha ha...

You following any of the golf?...that Thai gal is at it again...lawdy, I can't even say or write her name...but she is gooooood...and Ricky has forged ahead of the rascal, Reid, er is it Reed?...anyway, they both need a win to qualify for the Ryder Cup Team...good stuff...figure the other dude will be a captain's (Love, yet again, boo) pick...

The "hot item" of the day...when the National Anthem is played...it is assumed you will stop and face the flag...my golf group even stopped and did the same when we were playing at Balboa GC, as it was played from the nearby Naval Hospital...however, the SF 49er QB Colin Kaepernik, chose to not stand and honor it...claiming the oppression of all colored people in the US is not right...disrespectful?...what say you?...

OK, have to figure out what is for breakfast...
