It doesn't get better than this

As we are lying on the beach yesterday in 80* weather I surmised that it doesn't get better than this in May...I think about how close it is to get here...that I walk 3 blocks to a Padre game...that every type of restaurant I can think of is right below my condo...that at 9 pm I wear shorts and a t when I'm walking the dog...that my wife walks 1 block to her work...that I am not working...that I have over 30 golf courses near by, and, they are affordable...that I have a concert venue that begins in June that has great acts (Humphrey's)...that my dog is regular again...that I have an NFL team in town that I can call my own...that the bay is 2 blocks away...yes, it doesn't get better than this...

Are you watching the PGA this week? It's the Players and Lefty was up to his old tricks...military golf and he really did great to keep it at one over...an Orygun boy, Ben Crane, has the 1st round lead...Tiger is in the field...

The Padres pulled one out of the hat yesterday as David Eckstein drove in Kooz (yup, it's true) for the winning run in the 10th...the DBacks absorbed the loss and promptly fired their manager after...I can't make this up...

And I can't go quietly on this...Manny being Manny!...he finally got caught with growth hormones in his system and is suspended for 50 games...the Trib can do a twist on this how it may HURT the Padres...ultra negative writer Tim Sullivan (yup, he's a beaut) makes the case that the Dodgers will save $7.7 mill during this time and could sign Peavy at this affordable rate...sucks to be him...

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
