Happy? Memorial Day




As we pay tribute to all those who gave their life to the country that we live in...many who did what they were told, faithfully...we MUST honor them...as I have often referred to the soldiers as 'pawns'...whatever, they were instrumental in the freedom we have now...you KNOW this...regardless of what war they were killed in...life is so precious, and we live on because they helped us to do so...

Memorial Day should also mean, that we have 'memories' that need to be held on to....you can take that any way you want...but, it is a truth...for all those who died AND those who served for our country....

Bizarre...the game that decided the east rep in the champ series in the NBA...won by Boston...gosh, it was a beaut...as the Celtics dominated it throughout...yet, in the last minute and a half, the Heat made a valiant run...closing to 2, with 11 seconds to go...out of time outs and the ball in the hands of their best bloke, Jimmy Buckets...who dribbled down and got off a great look at a 3 ball and possible win...he missed...Boston won...and that was that...or was it?...after about 4 minutes and the broadcast had broken away for it's endless commercials...and for this author to read about it this am...the NBA negated one of the closing Heat's 3 pointers...?...so, what if...Buckets made the 3, the Heat won...and then the league...REVERSED it after the game was timed over?...would they have done that?...imagine...the...chaos...

Just like last week's PGA T...a pro finished early on a great run...7 shots back...at yesterday's final round at the Colonial...and then he watches and gets in a playoff...this time, the golfer, Sam Burns, the early finisher...beat Scotty Scheffler in OT, on a miracle putt...probably the only birdie putt I saw made in at least 2 hours...funny, well sort of, these two guys are best buds...

Finishing up my sports report...the Pads...with their rookie McKenzie Gore chucking...his ERA is now like 1.71!...the Friars won it, too, in OT...on a fair pole HR by Grisham...whew...now, on to Saint Looey and Milwaukee...historically, bad places for a win for SD...

Last eve, 60 Minutes (CBS) did a segment on the affects of the bullet from an AR-15 rifle...it was devastating...comparing it to a revolver's bullet...then, when your mind wonders to the Uvalde Massacre...the utter devastation...every single Republican who supports the NRA should be put in a room and FORCED to watch it...this weapon is in the hands of anyone who wants one...

Here is the time, that I add some insights to what I am doing...quarantined...I would be golfing right now, as I am writing...boo...as Boss read to me, that I am still infectious...but, I have no symptoms...going to ride out the 10 days...as when I read...my 23 sources...'you are all gonna get Covid'...but, the lingering and well, the direct effects, will be different from those who are not fully vaccinated...this is a good thing...

It does make you wonder, where on earth is it safe?...I could apply that to the Covid...and to the shootings...

I just looked at the 'out of bounds' picture, that the NBA used to change the score of the game...hmmm, does it not look like his foot, er shoe, was over the line, but NOT touching?...here is another angle...and much more sinister...the Celtics were favored by 3...so, the Heat covered UNTIL...the NBA changed the score...you a little sick right now?...oh yea, and Scott Foster reffed the game...

Maybe I should say that again...by changing the score, there were a lot of happy Boston bettors...and a lot of mad Miami ones...

And you think WE have a gambling problem...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
