The Weekend

Got to admit, I'm a sucker for harmony...and the hottest group going in the country world is Lady Antebellum...saw them in concert last eve in Chula Vista and they were great...one of the opening acts for Tim McGraw, who also sounded right on...is that a term anymore?..Hillary Scott has such a cool voice that blends so well with whatever the other guys names are...we sat behind some definite country dudes that had their share of beer...oh well, there were only 20,000 of us listening in...
And this story out of Portland...there is this cop, walking his beat in the downtown area...having a cup of joe...chatting with a customer, who was singing the praise of the uniformed ones....the owner of this vegan restaurant walks up to him...and asks him TO LEAVE...the Red and Black Cafe...seems that he would hurt the image of the business, many who are against them...he continues that they are picking on many of his patrons out in the real world...good luck, when he needs their services...
The Stock Market...not a good week...in fact yesterday, a drop of 320 or so in the Dow...yikes!...I'm not sure what triggers all the ups and downs...one week it is Europe, then it's the oil spill, then the job market....then China, then...AND...Israel is making the middle east worse...AND...Van Der Sloot is in big trouble...AND...the basketball world mourns the passing of the best collegiate coach ever, John Wooden...AND...a youngin is beating up on the vets at the Memorial in the PGA....
The final leg of the Triple Crown is today at Belmont...1 and 1/2 mile race...no clear cut favorite...pick one of the dudes or may pick...whatever the horse is, that is ridden by Johnny V...the Pads hung tough against the Phil's Halladay but still got beat 3-2....big try today...

Can you imagine this Vandersloot guy in a Peruvian prison for the rest of his life. This spoiled playboy preditor is in for a true reversal of fortune. Glad to hear lady A was good. Wish they would release more material

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
