The Line

For youse non-sporters, this might be an awe shucks moment...is that aw?...anyhoo, the headline for today is The Line...what bettors and prognosticators thrive on...the guess of what the point differential for the upcoming games just might be...used to be the Wednesdays...not anymore, it starts right up...you see, people bet gargantuan amounts of cash on games...all sports...but, football kind of has the most...it's a weekly thing, and not the daily...like in hoops and beisbol...so much for the preface...

The BYU Cougars roll into Autzen this weekend...sporting a mighty number 15 ranking in the national polls...the hosts, the Ducks, are ranked too, as the #25 team in the land...YET...The Line...the Vegas Boys...have the game favoring Oregon by 3 1/2...which makes me wonder, why not have the Vegas Boys rank the teams, too...and see how similar or different theirs is?...

Up in Seattle, 2 crucial games for the Friars...well, with only 20 regular season ones left...they ALL are IMPACTFUL, if SD is gonna be in the playoffs...Yu was terrific and Hader closed it out...whew...a 2-0 shutout win...have to give it to Wil, as he had the game winning hit...

Other...

The Pillow Guy...the staunch supporter of donny...def a forever...claims he was surrounded by FBI agents in his favorite dining place, Hardee's...and they confiscated his cell phone...man, they had to be really trailing the dude, to find him there...if true...

Is this the only time the Red Coats come out and march?...

Lindsey Graham...the one guy that says that we must abolish abortions...well, he is not the only guy...but...men telling women what they should and shouldn't do...what century are we in?...and what country?...is it that he has never been married, nor, well, let's leave it at that...

Baseball cards...you know 'em...where do you buy them now?...

The 'Palace' says that Prince Harry can't wear his military uniform during the procession...ah, what?...he actually served...and who is the 'Palace' anyway?...who decides?...how about him just wearing a red blazer...

Aaron Judge hit his 56th and 57th home runs...amazing....amazing that the pitchers don't walk him...the Bum's Mgr would...

A horrific day in the stocks...egads...reasons?...interest rates, I reckon...but, who really knows?...

Are you still watching the Bachelorettes?...ya, me neither...hope they find what they are looking for....

The city (town?) is just now waking up...the cars, the train, the people walking...the lights...the smell of Richard Walker's Pancake Shop, beneath us...cranking up the aroma...it's all coming alive...

Speaking of pancakes...we had a full day of whatnots...yesterday...taking stuff to the Goodwill, shopping at Trader Joe's, washing the car, and the stop at Hob Nob for a bodacious pancake sandwich....then did some swimming...man, we are trying...

Read that the state of Oregon is gonna go with a 35 second shot clock...didn't Washington have that like 20 years ago?...I agree with the awesome Coach Scott Cross, that it is a no-brainer now...as no one runs a pattern O anymore...dribble dribble, and huck up a 3 ball...BTW, no offense, Scotty, but so many of us, have referred to Scott Frost using your name....

Not sure where this is going, but...we had a random 2some join us for golf on Monday...a youngin (younger than us) who, when he hit his drive, sounded like a rocket launching...I told him he should be arrested...then our sourful shots went out there...comparingly, a shot gun and a BB gun...right...in a way, it was fun having him in the group, and in another way, not...yes, he could be wild...but, the crack of the bat, is all worth it to moi...bring back the persimmon woods...hmmm, maybe I should seek one out...then, I'd have an excuse for hitting my 200 yd drives...

No surprises here...we are going to celebrate our 48th anniversary right out in the open...no gifts...well, I did order a bobblehead thing for us to remember by...ha ha...sure it will be bogus...yet, we will dine here and then in LaLa Land for TWO special occasions...JUST like Ben and JLo did...48?...man...who'd a thunk...

Draggin the line...Tommy James and the Shondells...BUT, NO!...it was TJ without them Shondells...he went solo on this song...it has mysterious meaning (s)....some say 'just working every day...nothing mysterious about it'...or...referring to cocaine use...or this 'a lazy psychedelic shuffle whose hypnotic feel perfectly expressed it's title'...right...just a typical 71's song, that has no meaning...
