False Hope


After 50 games in the MLB season, the mighty Padres had the BEST RECORD in all of beisbol...then it all fell apart...why?...first of all, kids, it's a game...a bunch of them...to be successful at it, you must have quality pitching...in the next time frame, the league mandated a new rule...that the pitchers must be checked for foreign substances, that they may use to alter the baseball...if you listened to the National broadcast of last eve's Bums/Padres game...they inferred that Yu Darvish went from one of the best starters, to one of the worst...cuz of that 'new' rule...a number of pitchers from the Friar's staff went down with injuries...and to make matters more bizarre, the club fired one of the best in the biz...the pitching coach, Larry Rothschild...murmurs throughout the league were started...

2ndly...the clubhouse turned...gone was the fun, and antics that were quite evident...the blame had gone everywhere....of course, the normal next thing 'the closed door players only meeting' happened...do they ever work?...nope...the 2 stars of the team actually had a very visual altercation in the dugout during a game...the team had run amok...

3rdly...the GM could not pull the strings on getting help when needed...actually, a brutal amount of missed opportunities...none worse than missing on Scherzer and Turner...couple that with some dealings that he did make, regardless of team atmosphere...like Franmil Reyes to Cleveland...a terrific big bopper, that was a fun bloke in the locker room...interestingly enough, the Trib ran an article yesterday that supported this GM, AJ Preller, and all the good stuff he had done...no doubt a plant by the owners to satisfy the public...not me, nary a notion about the banner years that the traded away guys, Renfroe and Reyes, are having this season...

4th...again GM Preller stuff...the pitching staff, from starters to closer...are amongst the worst in all of baseball...no pulled punches here...these are mostly guys that Preller brought in...which of them came up from the farm system, that HE drafted?....Weathers and well, I can't think of another...how many games in the after the first 50 games, did the Mgr Tingler have to use all relief pitchers for a full game?...much too often...

Finally, the blame...is not on the coaches...nope...it's what they are left to 'coach'...this is all on the misdirection of the general manager...if there is to be change, this is where it shall be...or, should be...BUT, guess what?...the talk of the National broadcast was that there will be changes in San Diego...the next to go will be the Mgr Tingler...blah blah blah...not the right move, kids...

OK, you have been patient with moi today...I am through with this being the main and in this case, only topic....tomorrow, back to destroying the rest of the political world...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
