Honey, I'm Home
The Horse is back...we took a little excursion up north to Santa Barbara...stayed with the kids...had the teeth cleaned...visited and ate well...went to a concert...ah yes, it was great fun...
We left the driving to them Amtrak dudes...takes 5 1/2 hours to get there...which may or may not be the actual drive time by car...but...you don't have to meddle with the bloody LaLa traffic!...it is stress free...we go in the business class section...that gives you a seat for sure...and some goodies and a wine, if ya'll choose...I either read a book (more on that later), listen to me music via the Beats headphone, or chat with the little wurman...and watch the scenery as we do so...
The concert was at the Santa Barbara Bowl...you ever been there?...which is cut out of the hillside, like 7 or 8 blocks from where the kids live...the negative issue, is the climb to the seats, then the decline...it is steep and is taxing...sorry, but true...for us oldies, not the easiest thang...the concert tho, Sugarland, was splendid...the gal, Jennifer Nettles, can sang, kids...I mean, really sang...they have a nice amount of hits and she can really do anything...the surprise of the nite?...in their encore, out came Kenny Loggins...they did 'Footloose'...crowd pleaser...
The book I read...was the newbie by the collaboration of former Prez Bill Clinton and the writer James Patterson...'The President Is Missing'...fast read and I did 'er in 2 days...it was a novel, but I had a hard time NOT thinking that the main character, the Prez, was NOT him...I wonder if you will do the same when and if you read it...BJ, I have it, you want to read the book?...let me know...
It was great to see the kids...they are doing great...and their hospitality was awesome...

Say what you want and be as skeptical as you can be...but the fact that Prez T actually had a sit down with North Korean's Kim Jong Un, was a coup...what was released, on the meeting, may have answered a FEW Q's...what we are giving up, to get them to curb their nuclear program...our 'war games' in the region with the South Koreans...hmmm, now I am skeptical...the one thing that North needs, is MONEY...they have a severe lack of it...thus, I wonder what REALLY went down...however, they did meet...and no other Prez in almost 70 years has done that with their regime...
Hardcore Republicans are having a hell of a time, stomaching the shenanigans of DJT...and those who are up for re-election, had some comeuppance at the polls in the midterms...like, they got beat...cuz, they spoke out on him...he lets loose on Twitter, and they lose...and, the renaming of the elephants, is 'The Party of Trump'...this is a weird time for mainstream politics, right?...
ICE...and the rounding up of illegal KIDS from Mexico...has had some monstrous numbers to ponder...the 'storage' of them...by whom?...this scares me more than I am letting on...there are comparisons to another situation like this, some 80 or 90 years ago...in another country...
Silently, and I do mean without any mention in the national sport news...the ever improving Padres are doing successful work...with last night's win in Saint Looey, they (we) have won 5 STRAIGHT series...a deed that we haven't accomplished since 2010... on to Atlanta...are we on 'The Climb?'...(Miley Cyrus)...actually a good song by the gal...
You see the BRAWL that broke out in the Bums/Rangers MLB game?....started cuz of yet another collision at home plate...Matty Kemp ( who we still pay, BTW) of La La, slammed into the catcher...like what da Cubbies' Rizzo DOES...and the ruckus ensued...listen, there are rules that have changed to prevent this...but MLB does NOT enforce it...so on and on, it will go...
The Open at Shinnecock...hope you didn't wager on Spieth or Rory, as they are already 4 over after 4...egads, Lefty, too...not sure when they start the playing of it on the pixels...but, rest assured, I'll be glued...I did NOT wager on this...as then, I can just watch it without, actually pulling for, or, against anyone...golf, kids...
And this...YOUR press secretary...the one and only, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, got wind of a change in her position...what?...Tweeted that ...'does CBS know about my plans?'...rumors about, that she and her 'deputy' will be gone in a few months...maybe 'ousted' is a better word...or...'FIRED'...you know, the Apprentice Master is at the helm...why, oh why, would ANYONE want to work for him...I digress...
