Comic-Con

Morning kids...I have been amiss at not talking about one of, if not the HUGEST event, here in downtown San Diego...Comic-Con...you know, there are others all about the country...but this one...is probably the largest...even bigger than the previous week's MLB Bash, their All Star Game...think that the local hotels aren't socked in?...making boucoup bucks....oops, a word?...

Prior to us moving to SoCal, this area was an old, downtrodden city...ha ha...that didn't sound right...the city had a plan to revitalize itself...started with the baseball park being built...and shortly after, a number of high rise condos...and then hotels were built...and as the saying goes, if you build it they will come...well, we did...and so did thousands of others...if you look at the picture of SD proper from 15 years ago, and then, now...you would be amazed!...

Involved in the master plan was the Convention Center...a beaut...and large enough to harbor big things...many, many conventions...to go with that, up went the hotels to accommodate the huge numbers that would attend...and...they are still being constructed...anyway...this latest extravaganza...Comic-Con...has severe demands on the area...with it's size...

We went out and witnessed the people yesterday...went to a couple of our fave watering holes...and watched the enormous amount of attendees...they were...EVERYWHERE!...5th Avenue was closed down for it...I joke that there are more geeks in this world than we could ever imagine...reality is, there are people that just love this...and no...the geek usage is incorrect...I jest...

The Demos turn...well now...Hillary got her man...geez, sorry...her VP pick of Timothy M Kaine...his bio is pretty cool...odd that I would never have heard of him...but, he's got good legs of political history...no obvious skeletons in the closet...well, I'm sure the Repubs are searching high and low, as I am writing this...

I mentioned the email flap...not again!...this time over the DNC and their views on Clinton's opponent, Bernie...shows that they were not enamored with the fact that Sanders was doing so well...the person behind the scenes?...the chair, Ms Watterman...she is considered "quarantined" by some of my sources...and WILL not speak at the Philly DNC Convention...makes me have some reservations about the party...sorry kids, but it's true...

The Padres...got beat at DC in a thriller...well...in the bottom of the 9th...we have depleted ourselves of quality relievers...too...well, pitchers, in general...to build for the future...hopefully...as we have a plan by the GM AJ...to stockpile the system with "prospects"...and as those kids mature, we will have a division competitive team...hmmm...in the interim, we get be bopped by the other teams in the league...growing pains...ha ha...

Cris and Leila are in Tahoe at the Celebrity Golf T...covered by NBC...have you seen any of it...the hot trio of hoopster Steph Curry, the DWTS winner Alfonso Ribeiro (Carleton), and Justin Timberlake (JT), were the largest draw...according to my son, the security before they arrived at every hole was stringent...dog sniffers, police, you know...and...kids...they put on quite a show...I hope you see the replay...

The regular PGA Tour is in Toronto...the Canadian Open...the course is awful looking...brownish everywhere...the greens are rock hard...and yet...there is this amateur in the hunt...hey, it's been like 40 years since one has won there...and, not since Lefty did it in the 90's, anywhere on tour...the kid is a player from Arizona St...and a Canadian...of course, he has to beat the likes of Dustin Johnson, and Brandt Snedeker...probably won't happen...but a good story, right?...

Now...for your smut report...what have I NOT talked about for some time?...LiLo...well, geez, she's outta the country...got herself a beau...a boy...didn't she have a gal here a while back?...right...OK by me...in case she was asking...appears that there is a stumbling block...she posted that she was preggers...then took the post down...there you go...the smut report...

Finally, California Chrome won it's race yesterday out at Del Mar...in a donnybrook with Dortmund...by a neck...great one...these are two great hosses...did NOT bet it...shoot, my balance is kaput online...ha ha...probably a good thing...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

A Trial, Indeed

The revenge tour is ramping up ...as we gawk at the unchecked moves by trump ...even SCOTUS , the last leg of justice, is wobbling beneath his demands... this country is in disarray ...I wish I could give you better news... The unsightly attack of one of his Icetapo behemoths, on a lady in New York...taking her to the ground...an example of the uncontrolled behavior of that organization...guess that is what you call the group... simply, out of control, with NO LIMITS of force ...sad...and disgusting... The indictment of his former FBI head, James Comey ...for lying (imagine that from a legendary liar, trump) to Congress...this court case is needed for the country...to show the fallacy of the regime that is running rampant all over the land...it needs to be a BIG STAGE! ... A trial, indeed... In data released by trump's own government...the largest groups of detainees...the Icetapo's achievement of rounding up people...are not the ones with ANY CRIMINAL RECORD , but, 'illeg...
