Iced...Coffee

Shoot...it is HOT here in SD...one of the reasons for us moving here is the mild temps...year round...ahem...well, we are in one of them rare heat waves...over 90* yesterday and today...over 100* over in El Cajon, where my golf club is...so...while the kids were here, we abolished the bike ride (duh) and hit the pool...smart move...and celebrated Father's Day...

Of course, there were two big events on the pixels...let's start with the (US) Open...where the bridesmaid finally got to be the...well, you know...Dustin Johnson...the masterful hitter of the golf ball...nobody is better right now...nobody longer...with the woods or the irons...his bugaboo has been his putting...really...he should have won by 10+...but this course in Pennsylvania...Oakmont...brought everyone to it's knees on the greens...outside of a "rules infraction" hovering about...the USGA, the amateur group, handled it terribly...you see, they have but one event on the year...this one...in the end, made no actual difference...as DJ had a few strokes to play with...still...embarrassing...FOX...hmmm...fumbled the last few holes, too...had no idea how the close guys were doing...somehow, they didn't catch them on camera...weird, as they were doing a fine job up to the close...

Could say the same thing about the Golden St Warriors...ha ha...naw...give it to LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and the rest of the Cav Clan...in a bizarre 4th Q...where no one...NO ONE!...could make a shot...it got down to whom would make just ONE to WIN...the mysterious defense used by the Warriors, allowed Irving to fire freely....over the mismatched Curry...for the 3 ball that proved to be the diff...

I'm not sure about this...but Curry must be injured...or something...he was a liability to his team...could not play D...in crunch time, made some errant passes...threw up an air ball...something is going on...not the same dude I watched the entire season...easy pickings for the ultra talented James and Co...

The Cleveland Cavs...given new life by the craziness of Green...changed the momentum of the series in game 5...LeBron and Kyrie were virtually unstoppable...and did what no other has ever done...been down 3-1 in games...and come back to win...kudos...I must say this...Horse predicted months ago, that GS would not repeat...but...thought otherwise just a week ago...

The other amazing thing...the Padres won for the first time on a Sunday...what?...praise the lord...just kidding....don't write me...they have been 0-10 when wearing their blue camouflage uniforms...well now...SD got some timely hits...and runs...evened up the series with the dominate Nats at 2-2...Wil Myers and closer Fernando Rodney, lead the club again...hmmm...there is word out that the Pads are shopping Myers to the Yankees...like Bernie has said, there would be a revolution if true...

These conventions can't get here fast enough for the Repubs...seems like every day the polls hit the Donald more and more...if true...maybe even more, the debates...right?...

Finally...the 100th bill to come forward on gun control to hit our Congress..in the last 5 years...and the 100th straight to be knocked down....guess why?...the NRA...who bully the elected officials with ouster if they don't vote their way...money talks, kids...the only way to combat them, is to band together an anti-NRA group...fresh with mucho dinero....am I right or am I right?...

Or arm everyone...a shoot out like in the old west days...

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
