Bam!

I have not been spending a lot of space, er, blog time, talking about the Pads...mostly a paragraph...right?...not today...the warrant is out...the talk is here today, kids...

It was one of the better games of the season...last eve...both pitchers were on...hitting their spots...getting the outside calls...and whizzing thru the lineups...it was 1-1 forever...

The Bum's Greinke was magnificent...as he has a dominance over the Pads...and he was at his best...real reasons for offensive futility...Buddy usually gives that for a reason for a loss...this time he had every right...

SD had it's own Camelot going...a Kennedy...and he was back to being the guy that we got him here for...crafty and sneaky fast...and mowed down the very expensive lineup that LA trots out...

This lasted until the bottom of the 8th...Kennedy left after 7....the spotless Maurer waltzed thru the 8th...and then...BAM!...with 2 outs, Justin Upton at the plate...Greinke still there...Upton hit a bomb...left center dinger...and the Pads are up...the Pads are up...2-1...

For some reason, the umps had to convene...and then call NY for clarity...I think they thought that a fan may have obstructed...what?...waste of time...we all held our collective breaths...nope...HR...

The 9th for the Dodgers...the heart of their lineup...Puig (I'm sorry, but is any one built like that in this PEDS free time?), Adrian Gonzalez ( the former SD MVP, boo), and Howie Kendrick...and we bring in our closer, Craig Kimbrel...

Get this...we have our substitute play by play announcer going...Dick Enberg is out for the series...and call it fate or something...the sub says that SD is bringing in the closer, FRANK Kimbrel...OMG!...know your team, buddy...I digress...

After a lengthy battle, Puig singles up the middle...eegads...and then...SD uses a shift of 3 blokes on the right side for the ever dangerous Gonzo...and the sweet sound of a topper...right back to Kimbrel...who sets and fires a strike to SS Amarista, who completes the double play throw to Alonso...2 gone!...

The game is complete as Kimbrel strikes out Kendrick...and there is jubilation...down right excitement!...now THIS is what we have been waiting for...

 Finally...I must say something about today's NBA Playoff game...I am like most of you...I have no idea what to expect...will Cleve alter their game plan?...are their blokes healthy?...will GS continue the small lineup?...probably the most important asterisk will be...who is the referee crew?...just sit back...and watch the product...I sense it will be quite enjoyable...never, ever, bet on the NBA...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
