Worse Than Ever

I would be remiss if I didn't talk about the fires down here....there are 8 of them right now...mostly just north of us...as you see on this map...and with the Santa Anna Winds moving them all over the place, it's nearly impossible to quell them...the smoke has not filtered downtown...so it kind of seems surreal...back in the last major one...we had just moved here...2007...the smoke was all around us...and...there is a hint of some of them being set...ARSON...as they are too far apart to be connected...all very scary stuff...as of last eve, there were at least 30 homes destroyed...we need cooler weather and obviously, lesser winds...by the way, these homes are million dollar structures...

You know I am not fond of the coaching of the Blazers...as they got stomped and booted from the playoffs...last night...not saying that it wouldn't have happened regardless....but the defense they employed gave their players NO CHANCE to win...NONE...they HAD to have watched tape, right?...too bad, as that area lives and breathes the Blazer Mania...and were given the under-performing effort of the brain trust...booo...

Rain....is what this area would give anything for...stopped the Pads in Cincy...and postponed last night's fray...

Idol...well...it was a bad night for all of the remaining 3...however, the Rocker and Gal had decent 3rd round performances...have to admit, I did not know any of the song choices by Randy Jackson (Dawg)...man, I am getting out of it...apparently...and when JLo stood up and danced (?) to the Rocker's last, she was almost well...you know...this is a family blog...wait, no it's not...

Survivor...the best yet...or still...of all the reality shows...as the cop continues to dominate...but...the crowd fav, at least ours, the brainiac is closing in on him...as he has been for the last 6 or 7 shows...in the tickler, there appears to be a medical thing...and the helicopter is arriving....and then they show the other 3 remaining people and not him...hmmm...hope it's not what they are insinuating...

This Saturday is the 2nd leg of the horse racing's Triple Crown...and SoCal's own, California Chrome, will be the fav...TVG is going to offer a special bet, like they did last at the Derby...which I will do...the Preakness...have not handicapped it yet...the weather?...supposed to be fine...

A new term I have never heard before...firenado...where like a tornado...winds spiral with nothing but smoke and embers...wild and scary stuff...

Good news...my son, the good doctor, is in two shoes...this is a major step...so to speak...

Due to the heat, Santa Anita, is closing it's doors today...can't remember that happening before...
